I know noone knows who its gunna be, but do you think that he/she knows? Could it just be some average joe, who wont realize until one day, just who he is? I dont know the whole story about the antichrist, is he supposed to be like the son of satan or something?

The spirit of antichrist is already at work. In greek, ANTI does not just mean "against"; it also means "in place of." It is like one seeking to be like him, and yet not him. Antichrist is at work in churches and false converts lives across the world.

It is evident, even on this forum, that the Jesus that most people believe in is a far cry from the Lord of Glory that is portrayed in the Bible. Most people's Jesus is soppy, sentimental, and self serving. This is a very subtle form of antichrist spirit. What is so scary about this, is that in 2 Thessalonians, it says God is the one who sent the strong delusion, because they had not received a love of the truth so as to be saved. If God is the one who is the author of your deception, you are in a very, very bad place. We need to be willing to allow God free reign in our lives, to shake up everything we think we know about Him and who He is. We need, desperately, to know Him as He in fact is, and not was we think Him to be.

Yeah.. like the above post.. the mode of being 'anti-christ' .. has been around for ages. But the actual being who comes in Revelation?

Well for one thing.. they will be doing REAL signs and wonders..

For another thing.. they won't look like some red demon with a pitch fork! Satan in the bible.. is a fallen angel. .so would look quite amazing. That is the nature of the way He does things.. other beliefs that are not christian can seem nice.. like universalists and new agers.. believing nature is God.. well it feels nice to meditate by drawing energy from trees.. crystals.. rocks.. air.. water.. etc.. getting out into nature is nice when you do that kind of thing with it.. but that doesn't make it TRUTH.

The other thing about this fella is he will most likely be coming from among supposedly christian churches.. now the fact he is doing real signs and wonders might give you some idea as to what wing of christianity he will be coming out of.. but I'll leave that up to you!

The fact is Jesus will NOT be doing signs and wonders when He returns! His is a smash and grab mission!

But ya.. I don know heaps about this subject.. seeing as really it is nothing to fear for saved people.

:) Yeah I don know if he'll be smashing so much.. but definitely grabbing His saved ones :)

But yeah.. if you see someone doing real signs and wonders and claiming to be Jesus Christ.. run like the wind! Cos that would NOT be Jesus.. if they are real signs and wonders.. it is Satan.. the anti-christ.

(2Th 2:8-12) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be ****ed who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

(Mark 13:21-30) And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

Doesn't the resurrection come under the category of a sign/wonder? At least, a miraculous event.

I agree that antichrist is the Devil himself because he has been around for nearly 2000 years during Christ time already, and probably since creation, so it has to be Satan the spirit one, prince of the air. (1Jn 4:3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

And here the antichrist rules in the church at the beginning of the tribulation period.
(2Thes 2:4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
(2Cor 11:14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
(2Cor 11:15) Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

nothing that i know of, other than upside down its 666 which is the number of the beast mentioned in rev.3 There have been some spirits of the antichrist in historys past , such as Hitler but this man will actually allow satan to embody him. I think he will know who he is and he will like it cause of all the power. I don't think it will be an average Joe but someone that is in place already with a position of authority and power.
Amen! I fully agree

Ya you are right there.. it is miraculous.. when Jesus came during gospel time it was a continuous ministry of many signs and wonders over a period of time..

When He comes again.. it won't be continuous.. just a one off thing.

So not doing signs and wonders in terms of that is the continuing characteristic of when He comes back.. but one miraculous event in taking up His saved ones :)

I just remembered something...
I once saw a documentation about Martin Luther and it said that according to the bible the end of all days would be around that time and that even Luther thought that would be the case. They calculated it somehow, can't remember how. Does someone have information about that?
