The context of that scripture (1Cor.8:1) deals with the attitude towards the eating of meat sacrificed to idols. Not a small issue in that setting. Loving God and neighbor is more important than to use the liberty of knowing that idols are "nothing".
Knowledge in and by itself is only a good thing and it is what God gives in regeneration. It is only a good and blessed thing. The contrast, ignorance, is spoken of in the negative, the most striking example being Rom.10:3. It is not good to remain as a little child in knowledge. We need to be mature adults as to knowledge but as little children as to our trust in God.
However, knowledge, alone, without acting upon it in charity, will not have its intended result.
