G'day

A dear friend of mine prepared this study for his Wednesday night study group. I asked his permission to share his study with the new believers who may come to this site. He gave me permission to post it , so I pray that God will use this study... ( and the ones I post for new believers later ) for your growth in Christ-likeness.

I give all the credit to Pastor Aslantic from Brisbane, Australia. He is not a member of this site but he has been invited to join.

Anyway.... Let me post it here for your study, and let me give you some advice on how to respond. If you give your answers to the questions by posting the question number and letter first, others can see what your responses are to those questions. Or, you can quote the question and then give your response afterward. OR , finally, you can do the study without responding publicly.

lets begin
***********************************************************************

LESSON 1

The Lord Jesus Christ is now the centre of your life. From Him radiates the qualities God wants you to have. The Christian life is an ever growing, expanding experience.

A fundamental pattern of growth is outlined in
2 Peter 1:1-11. Read these important verses. The eight facets are found in verses 5-7. These lessons will make you aware of how Christ wants His life to grow in you and shine through you to others.

FAITH IS THE KEY
We begin with faith because faith is the key which unlocks to door to God. You accepted Jesus Christ unto your life by faith. By an act of your will you placed all your hope for eternal life in Him. At that moment, God entered your life. At that moment, you began to live the Christian life.

New beginnings are always exciting. You have begun an exciting new life with God. Christ has taken away your sin and now you are ready to grow. This excitement can stay with you if you experience daily Christian growth. Christians who fail to grow soon lose this excitement. Keep fresh! Grow in faith every day.

2 Peter 1:1-11 (NKJV)
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
