I know we wont know for sure till we're there, but what do you think heaven will be like? Ive always imagined it as being much like the earth when it was first created, only MUCH better.. its always like the perfect spring day.. perfect temperature, slight cool breeze etc...

So just for the fun of it, what do you guys picture heaven as being like?

Something like the perfect city--not so urban that it crowds out the natural beauty. Maybe something like New York without the angry honking and the weird smells, ruled over with God's perfect justice and guarded by angels with massive flaming swords.

It is a place of color so vivid that the ground itself appears to be pulsing with life. The sky is a deep, tranquil blue. There is no sun, but a light permeates everything. Spiritually speaking there's a sense of peace which is unimaginable. One will be able to go where one wishes with nothing but a thought. Our bodies will be capable of things which we only see in the movies.

That sounds cool :D So ill be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound?

I sure hope not :D I hope we all live outdoors.. think about it. We wont need to sleep or eat, and i doubt there will be any rain, so what point is there for buildings? All they would do is take away from the beauty of the world he creates :) If it is at all like earth, i hope there are no buildings at all. Not knocking your view at all, just saying :D

I'll run around all day doing parkour (which I'm too clumsy to do now) when I'm not busy praising God or singing

then I want to take the Lion and the Lamb literally and ask if I can pet one (or a tiger.. or a cobra perhaps...) !

It's cool reading everyone's idea of what they think heaven would be like.

I'd say that there's a permanent feeling of joy and completeness. Other than that, I don't know. I'm guessing though that it won't matter if there's buildings or not; we'll all just be so happy whatever setting we're in.

Hmm, but if I get to choose, I'd like a small cottage within a country setting. And of course, like someone else said, all we have to do is think of a location and we're there....no traveling necessary.

Abode aside, it's hard to imagine what the beauty will be like. Colors we've never seen before, deep and rich and alive. I don't think our wildest imaginings could come even close to what it will be like.

I think that, as heaven is a place for spiritual beings. It is nothing like what we have here on earth. I do know it is a place without the problems of physical humans. I've also read how the angels there sing praises to God. How can they do that without physical form? So much I do not understand. I also know that our lord Christ Jesus, sits on the right hand of God, our father in heaven. I have no real vision of what heaven looks like. I do have a spiritual conception of what heaven is. A place of pure love as, God, is love.

Heaven is incomparable to earth; it has a beauty beyond human imagination. :) No darkness, no sleepless nights, no hospital, no crime. The streets will probably be made of gold and precious jewels...I don't know *shrugs* lol

Is it bad that the idea of heaven scares me a little bit? I'm not sure if it's heaven, so much as it's the idea of eternity doing anything. For me, I hope heaven is like being asleep and having the best dream of your life that you never wake up from. You have no perception of time when you dream, and in your dreams you can do anything, even if it's wierd or physically impossible. I love sleeping because I love to dream, and I hope heaven is something like that.

I'll share my pet giraffe with you if you'll share your pet lion with me...LOL.

What a neat idea, all the animals of the earth hanging out in your backyard. No need for a fence as they will be eating the fruits and leaves from beautiful bushes and trees we've never seen the likes of before and they'll never want to leave your yard.

I believe that heaven will be probably nothing like what we have here now, but since we only have our finite minds to imagine with.....well, a backyard of critters sounds cool to me.

Yeah, but there would be snakes, frogs, and lizards...and those things creep me out...especially snakes. I stop breathing and start having panic attacks when I see snakes...

A place of where all is spirit not physical. But in spirit all that God made is perfect. The first thing I hope for is to be about age seven and in the arms of Our Father as he take away every sadness, sorrow, pain, and tear. Then I want to walk the ocean beaches of heaven with all others and Jesus praising Him with the waves and all. God bless, pickles

i kinda see where your coming from, like... what are we gunna do for ETERNITY.. but you have to remember, its going to be NOTHING like here. We will have no concept of time, and there will be NO end to the things we can do. Its gunna be awesome!

Ya, i wonder (if we have bodies that resemble what we are now) what "age" we will appear to be. It'd suck to die when your like 105 years old, and to still look like that in heaven :D.. Or what about babies, or a fetus'.. Ya, it'd be cool if we were all kids again :D

Harley I had the same problem for about 10 years, and still often have this problem. The concept of eternity is my greatest fear, so great that I have to force myself to stop thinking about it whenever the thought pops into my mind and pray that I don't have these thoughts. I'm not afraid of heaven, just the thought of never-ending time.

However we have to remember that we are thinking through our human minds, but we will have new minds in heaven, and God wouldn't let heaven or eternity be unbearable.

I think there WILL be time in heaven. Revelation 8:1, "When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour". However I don't think we will care about how much time has passed.

I found this really good article which I think offers a really good suggestion about how our perception of time will be in heaven.

Ya, and if the thought of eternity scares you, just remember who was there before anyone else.. He doesn't seem to mind it :D

That's right!

And also think of all the flying dinosaurs that will take us wherever we want, and all the apple pies as big as houses, and pogo sticks that let you jump between planets, and computers so we can go on CC....
