"Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because, that in it, He had rested from all his work which God created and made." (Gen 2:1-3).

The bible reveals that God blessed and set apart (sanctified) the seventh day.

This day is holy unto God, and it is the only day of the week that we are commanded to honor.

"Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation: ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings." (Lev 23:3).

A holy convocation is an assembly of the people of God, who come together to worship him.

There are two calendars that exist. God's calendar and man's calendar; both consist of seven day weeks.

The difference in the two calendars is that God has named the days with numbers, and man has given the days names.

God's calendar begins with day 1 and ends with day 7, his weekly Sabbath.

Man's calendar names day 1 as, Sunday, and ends with Saturday, day 7, God's weekly Sabbath.

Although man's calendar is universal (the same all over the world) the majority of professed Christians worship the Lord on Sunday which is clearly the 1st day of the week not the 7th day that the Lord has hallowed, sanctified and commanded that we keep.

Professed Christians believe that Jesus rose from the grave on Sunday, thus, justifying themselves to change the Sabbath (the day of worship) to Sunday.

However, the bible does not support their belief:

"In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for low, I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. "He is not here: for he is risen," as he said. "Come; see the place where the lord lay." And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you." (Matthew 28:1, 5-7)

Contrary to popular beliefs, Jesus, who is God the Son, did not come in the flesh and change the day of "The Sabbath".

In fact, the bible will show that Jesus is God of the "Holy Bible", who created the heaven and the earth, and blessed and made holy the seventh day.

"In the beginning was the word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made." (John 1:1-3).

Now, Revelation 19 verses 11-16 confirm to us that Jesus Christ is the word.

Therefore John chapter 1 verses 1-3 is speaking on this manner; verse1:

In the beginning was Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ was with God. And Jesus Christ was God. Verse 2: Jesus Christ was in the beginning with God. Verse 3: All things were made by Jesus Christ and without Jesus Christ was not anything that was made.

Let us establish this with another witness as God commands.

"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:" (Eph 3:9).

Therefore, Jesus is the God that created all things, including the Sabbath (day of rest).

Hebrews 13 verse 8 informs us that Jesus Christ is "the same yesterday, and today, and forever".

This means Jesus is constant and does not change.

Therefore, the God of yesterday is the same God of today, who has commanded us to keep the Seventh day holy.

The seventh day is a sign between Jesus and His people (Israel) forever.

"Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant, it is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed." (Ex.31:16-17).

If you're a stranger (Non-Israelite), you must also keep the Lord's Sabbath day.

"Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love him, to be his servants, every one of them that keepth the Sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my Holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar: for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people." (Isaiah 56:6-7).

Listen, people, read your bibles, hear the word of God, take hold of His covenant and follow the example that he has set for us.

this could have all been done in one post, or in the myriad of other threads about this exact same topic where the myriad of other people for the most part are neutral on this.

Is it lawful to do good on Sundays?
Well you should not stop following the lord after the Sabbath day. Just because someone goes to church dos not give them the right to stop being loving on any other day. But as for work or everyday life the bible says Exo_20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
We must still be a Christians at work too

What about policemen or firemen? Doctors and nurses who have to work in your "everyday life"?

The bible says you can do anything on Sunday. Unless you found something different? That's the day you asked about was it not?

I'm saying what about the doctor performing open heart surgery on a patient to save his life, or a fireman pulling some little girl from a burning building on the same day you go to church on? Are they breaking the sabbath?

This day is holy unto God, and it is the only day of the week that we are commanded to honor.

"Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation: ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings." (Lev 23:3).

A holy convocation is an assembly of the people of God, who come together to worship him.
I like your posts, however keep in mind the Sabbath Day instructions in the quote you quoted from Lev. 23:3 is distinct from the one in the Ten Commandments. This holy convocation is in reverent celebration of having entered into the promised land, something we all look forward to come the Kingdom. Below is the Commandment of the Sabbath of the 7th day; there is no mention of a convocation at this time, however no day is exempt from
worshipping our Maker, amen.

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

You may not choose to answer the question among the congregation, I understand. But atleast be honest with yourself. This debate over what day people go to church on is childish at best.

Well lets look

Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

This verse only talks about not doing your own pleasure. A doctor performing open heart surgery on a patient to save his life, or a fireman pulling some little girl from a burning building All these things Don't always have to happen on the Sabbath (Saturday) but if need be the bible only talks about doing our own pleasure is bad. Not to say these things cant give us pleasure but these are things that need to be done if we want to or not. Its not the same as going to spend the day on the Sabbath looking for a new car which would be in the category of doing my own pleasure.

Jesus showed us how to keep the Sabbath..

Mat 12:11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? Mat 12:12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Mat 12:13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

Now I would hope no one would clam that Jesus broke the Sabbath only the pharisees and just did that but we know Jesus was a keeper of the whole law and could not sin and was still able to help others.

The bible says 2Ti_3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

So if instruction in righteousness is childish I guess that would be calling God childish would it not?
