I would like to talk about my favorite topic. Namely Salvation. lets talk about what our God has done for us.
This Is how I see it.
I was born in sin and consequently I have sinned many times and many more times than I am aware of.
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
This of course is a problem because the bible also says:
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death...
however the later half of this verse gives me great hope.
"but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "
It is this gift that I want more than anything, the thing is when I found out what this gift was I wanted it more.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The Son of God is the Gift. Jesus is the gift, He gave his own life in the place of yours and mine. however like any Gift there is a giver, in this case God. and just like any gift given there needs to be a receiver, you and me. See the thing is, you don't pay for a gift, you don't work for it, You can't earn it. there is only two options to chose from, we either accept it, or reject it.
how do I accept it? I simply believe and thank God through Jesus Christ.
Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
See the Gospel can sometimes be hard because we feel like we should do something. But that is not how it works, the problem is we were born sinners and there is nothing we could do about it. God knew this, yet he loved us so much that he came looking for you and me to bring us back home.
Luk 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
One characteristic that stands out for a lost person is the very fact that they are lost. they need someone to find them. they can not find themselves.
We all need finding, We all need saving, we all have one thing in common, We need Jesus.
It really is that simple.
