The theory alot of people have is that we each have a guardian angel, i believe in this also, but it may be because i was taught this theory, i want to know if this is scriptual, so for all the bible scholars can you answer this for me, and please give scripture to back this up, whatever your stand. Thanks

The messenger of YHWH encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them.
So, circumstantially at least, yes.

Better questions might be:
what is a messenger?
does said deliverance come therefore in the form of messages?
how are these messages manifested?
do we even "see" or "hear" them?

Or do we restrict a messenger to the pop-culture representation of the word "angel"?
I think they are FAR more powerful and refined than that, and that they are everywhere.
I also believe their names are at the core of their messages, but we only have a few of their names recorded.

I don't think we have any in the normal definition of guardian angels. (I dont think we have angels following us around wherever we go).

I do however know God sees us wherever we go, and can hear us , so whether the angels are there or not, we are under His protection

Angels are ministering spirits, and they carry out the will of God. The bible does not say we have "guardian angels", but in the event we do it is important to remember that they work for God, and all gratitude and praise goes to Him. Not an angel.

The problem I have with some people who talk about guardian angels, is they talk about how they protect them and never mention God.

Revelation 22:8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worshipbefore the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 Then he said to me, See thatyou do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.

Also, keep in mind that Satan is an angel, and look at the havoc he still causes. So people do need to be careful what they consider a "guardian angel".

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light

Being brought up Roman Catholic, I was under the impression we each have a guardian angel. I don't know if it is anywhere in the bible. We weren't taught to read the bible and I started to read because of life's difficulties and the influence of some good Christians.

When you say we must be careful not to worship this messenger, I remembered reading that, and it caused me to remember a little prayer my mom used to say when she tucked me in at night.

I ran through it quickly in my head to see if it contains any worship of the angel and I don't think it does, but it was a scary thought. Anyway, thanks for this post. It made me look from a different perspective.

Your faith and beliefs and unconditional acceptance of God's love provides you with strength, to see you through the most difficult of times. If I were to give a face to this, I would think of it as a guardian angel pointing the way.

I don't know if this appears in scripture exactly spelled out as a guardian angel, but sometimes you have to read between the lines to discern the intent of God's message and how it appears to us on earth.
