What does the Catholic Church have to do with Holiness n the chat room?
Well you said earlier that you considered the comments about the Catholic church to be stone-throwing.
So then implicitly, you have said that the Catholic Church is an adulteress, because in the story which refers to stone throwing, the person they were about to stone was an adulteress.

Adultery was hardly the only sin that was punishable by stoning in the Old Testament. Even so, I don't think people generally have a problem with those who call the Roman Catholic Church out on cases of corruption and such. It's just that some people are taking their condemnation beyond the guilty and acting as if the entire RCC, members and all, are evil.

Densetzu,

Do you believe God can do anything? God can perfect even you and me. It certainly won't be me perfecting me, but God can.
Perhaps I'm just cynical. It's not that I don't believe God can do it, it's that I've never met a person so thoroughly dedicated to God that they would let it happen. Humans have a tendency to fight change, and becoming perfect is a big change.

Densetzu,

You are correct again, humans do have this tendency. This gives all the glory to God when He manifest himself in us. All we have to do is cooperate. Let that old carnal human nature die, kill it. I believe Stephen was sinless as he was being stoned to death and forgave those stoning him. I also think that that was instrumental to Saul/Paul's conversion. Have you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit as in Acts chapter 2 that Jesus promised in John chapters 14-16? This is the power we need. Look at Peter's change after being filled. That is just the former reign anointing. As the tribulation gets on the way we will see the latter reign anointing comming forth. It doesn't get any more exciting than this.

He is returning for a bride without spot or blemish.

I found a great online fellowship that has been a great help to me at www.unleavenedbreadministries.org. The have a lot of great material and I would start with their Soveriegn God book which can be downloaded in the pdf or an audio version in mp3. They will send you a copy for free if you ask.

God bless you in your quest for the truth Densetzu.

I have noticed whether it is I or someone else, anytime the subject of holy, righteous living is brought up those that support the idea are treated as unloving, uncaring, unedifying cretins. We are called everything from legalistic to unsaved, depending on our own work instead of God, even though we all make it clear that holiness is a work of God in us not of ourselves. It just blows my mind that all believers would not agree that we as Christians should live holy lives, abstaining from sin and lusts of the flesh. God makes this abundantly clear in His word. The fact that those that believe God's word and stand for His truth are the ones being ridiculed even in what is supposed to be a christian site is mind blowing. It makes you wonder even more about the state of the church in these last days, very discouraging.
Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
