Deut 30v:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

the Lord set the table

choose

1Cor 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

here is the condition Jesus set forth to those that love him

Jn 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

the condition from God's mouth is for us to keep his commandments

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

God's love requires us to keep his commandments.

one of God's condition for being holy is keeping his dietary law!

Lev 11:44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Lev 11:45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

46: This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

47: To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

we read the the Lord always saying "MY WAYS" which is conditional, this is the way he wants us to obey

1Kgs 3:14 And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

1Kgs 11:33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.

1Kgs 11:38 And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.

Job 31:4 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

Ps 119:168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways are before thee.

Prov 8:32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

Prov 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isa 58:2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

Ezek 18:29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?

Zech 3:7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

Jesus said

Jn 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

why must we continue in his love if his love is unconditionally?

Jesus said

10: If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

a·bide

1.
to remain; continue; stay: Abide with me.
2. to have one's abode; dwell; reside: to abide in a small Scottish village.

3. to continue in a particular condition, attitude, relationship, etc.; last.

to abide in Jesus love we have to KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS

this is a condition from God!!!

Pay close attention to what the Lord speaks here

Mt 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

It obvious that this verse CANNOT apply to the God so loved the world verse below

Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

GOD shall not forgive those who blasphemes and speak against the holy ghost in this world and the world to come.

God CANNOT love these who blaspheme the holy ghost, he won't forgive them so he can't love them.

This is the God of conditional love who made this statement

Mat 12v31: Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32: And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him:
but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Jesus said

Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

lets look at a parable from Jesus to see who is in the world

Mt 13
36: Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

37: He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

38: The field is the world;

the good seed are the children of the kingdom;

but

the tares are the children of the wicked one;

lets look at the prince of the world when Jesus came in the flesh and before he came in the flesh

Satan rules all kingdoms

Mt 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9: And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Satan is the prince of this world

Jn 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me

Satan deceived the whole world when he was cast out of earth and it started with Eve.

Rev 12v9: And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

the whole world was in deception before the Father sent Jesus

yet their was some who still believed in Jesus and his word!!

Paul said

Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

God is Love

yet his love is conditional!

you and I have to do something to to stay in his love!

The God of condtional love had Peter write this

2 Peter 2

10: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

11: Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

12: But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

13: And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

14: Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

15: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

do you really beleive God love those who CANNOT CEASE FROM SIN?

do you really think God love these people here in Romans?

If the love of God is active and operating in us through the Holy Spirit, we will then have the capacity to keep His commandments. Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Him because the Lord was looking for the right kind of love operating in his heart so that Peter would be able to feed His little lambs and sheep. God does not require any believer to keep His commandments without providing the right kind of love operating in the heart and until some of you understand that, you will never comprehend the love of God. We love Him because He loved us first and we have that love operating in our heart.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Looks unconditional to me.

We should obey yes, but it is NOT a requirement for love.
(If your children misbehave, do you start hating them? No, you get disappointed, maybe angry, but you still love. )

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

what is the condition?

what if you don't beleive in Jesus?

Deuteronomy 10:11-13

King James Version (KJV)

11 And the Lord said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.
12 And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
13 To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good

what if you don't beleive in Jesus?
Then you don't go to haven. It doesn't mean God does not love. However, if He was to force Himself on people, that would not be love either.

Jas 1:21 Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22 But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Yes we serve God out of love, and we obey Him because we love Him, as commanded, but to receive the implanted word he is asking us to repent and seek His mercy.

IF the professing Christian is still struggling in sin, such as porn, adultery, lover of pleasure, drunkard, homosexual, etc,, then they have not repented, or laid aside their wickedness and are still under condemnation, you come clean before God first in real repentance, I see few on these forums stress repentance in any way shape or form!

Jesus came to set mankind free from the bondages of sin, he was a sin offering not a sin replacement, then we obey from the heart, keep His commands in our heart, the righteousness requirements of the law, not the ordnances and outward rituals, when you walk in spirit and not flesh we walk in the righteousness requirements of the law!

Obedience to Gods commands is NOT optional, its a condition unto salvation, Jesus didn't provide His obedience for us, he gives us the way and strength to obey His commands and follow Him on the narrow road.

Grace puts us under more obligation, grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and lustful pleasures,to NOW walk a holy and separated life unto our savior!

We have our part to do to receive with meekness His implanted word, then we serve Him with a pure heart, where faith and obedience is the same!
Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 teaching us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly, righteously and godly, in this present world,
Tit 2:13 looking for the blessed hope, and the appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Tit 2:14 who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify to Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

Joh 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love,

2Co 6:1 But working together, we also call on you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Heb 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ (who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God) purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he who died has been justified from sin!

What about Hosea 2? It's a perfect example of God's unconditional love for His wayward bride.

God possess all powerful love He effuse Himself naturally and freely offers Himself to us no matter what condition we are in if we are willing to receive then He gives to us Himself including His love but if not then we remain in the condition we are in sin darkness death at the end of the time that (he has given to each one) what will be required is the inspection of what our condition is to whether we received what He freely offered to us (all of Him or none of Him). The gift of His own self His light, Life and Love is the welcome of eternal growth and intimate knowledge of Him in His dwelling (heaven) or to be placed in a dwelling absent of all that He is (hell). There are conditions and stipulations on growing to be like him verses receiving Him while we were in the condition of sin and rebellion. The sin and rebellious state before the presentation of salvation and new birth does not cause Him to refuse to offer to us His salvation including Himself so that is not conditional only in receiving Him and following Him.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Looks unconditional to me.

We should obey yes, but it is NOT a requirement for love.

1 John 5
[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

A requirement of God to show our love towards Him is to keep His commandments

1 John 2
[3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

God goes on to tell us that if we do not keep His commandments and claim to know Him, that person is a liar and the truth is not in them.

Sounds like some conditions according to the scriptures.

God sending His only begotten so to die for a sinful undeserved world shows unconditional love.

Scriptures also show that obedience and faithfulness is a condition for eternal life (Hebrews 5:9- And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him).
Matt 7:21- Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

The fact that you obey God after you are saved by grace through faith alone does not mean you are trying to work for salvation. No one can stay saved without being faithful to God.
(Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil).

Meritorious works like as going to church, charitable deeds, obeying the ten commandments, worshiping in church etc, to be saved void Christ's death.

Anyone that denies the unconditional love of God has another spirit that does not come from God, who is love.
