Matt. 6:9-13. Have you ever wondered how many times this prayer was prayed in the past two thousand years.? People from all walks of life have prayed it. Men and Women in the Military have prayed it. We hear it in Funeral Services. We hear it at Church Services. At one time it was prayed in many of our Schools. But I wonder how many have ever thought about what they were praying for.? What do we really know about this prayer.? Let us see what the Lord wanted his disciples to pray for.

Matt. 6:9,10. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father Which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy KINGDOM COME, Thy will be done in EARTH, as it is in heaven.

This has to do with a Kingdom that will be here on this EARTH. These disciples were told to pray for it.

Matt. 5:1-10. Tells us what kind of people will be in it. Notice verse 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the EARTH.

John the Baptist was told to preach it. Matt. 3:1,2. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, And saying, " Repent ye: for the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is at hand.

Jesus preached it. Matt. 4:17. From that time Jesus began to preach, and say, " Repent: for the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is at hand.

The twelve disciples preached it. Matt. 10:7. And as ye go, preach, saying, The KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is at hand.

Luke 19:11. And as they heard these things, He added and spake a parable, because He was nigh to Jerusalem, and because THEY THOUGHT THAT THE KINGDOM OF GOD SHOULD IMMEDIATELY APPEAR. Notice: Luke 23:50,51. And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just: ( The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathea, a city of the Jews: who ALSO HIMSELF WAITED FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Acts 1:1-3. The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which He was taken up, after that He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen: To whom also He shewed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things PERTAINING TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Every thing we have looked at so far has to do with this KINGDOM HERE ON EARTH.

Now let's see if the Apostle Paul preached about this Kingdom.

Acts 14:21,22. And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Acts 19:8. And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading THE THINGS CONCERNING THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Acts 20:24,25. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that
I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching THE KINGDOM OF GOD, shall see my face no more.

Rom. 14:17. For THE KINGDOM OF GOD is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 4:20. For THE KINGDOM OF GOD is not in word, but in power.
1 Cor. 6:9,10. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit THE KINGDOM OF GOD? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Eph. 5:5. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST AND OF GOD.
11 THess. 1:5. Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of THE KINGDOM OF GOD, for which ye also suffer.

11 Tim. 4:1. I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, Who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and HIS KINGDOM. 4:18. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto HIS HEAVENLY KINGDOM: to Whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

No wonder Paul said in 1 Thess. 4:17: Then we which are alive, and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall WE EVER BE WITH THE LORD.

Where will the Lord be: Rev. 20:4 And they lived and reigned with Christ a THOUSAND YEARS.
Read Rev. 21,22. And you will see were the Lord will be after the thousand years.

Now if all these men preached, and believed that they will be in a kingdom here on this EARTH, Why do so many believe that heaven will be their future home?
I think that we should all spend some more time on this subject.

THAT is a necessary question isn't it?

I believe it is more accurately depicted with the phrase "kingdom of God"
I believe that the kingdom is at hand, meaning here for the taking.
I believe "it comes" to an individual, howbeit still a kingdom with all those in it.
I believe it does not appear instantly. Just like entering a physical kingdom's borders before you see the stuff in it.
Unfortunately, I do not believe it can be fully explained from one person to another, and this is why Y'Shua spoke in parables of it. Because it is something we must seek and experience in order to understand it.

I believe when you are in it, you will experience these things:

1. Signs that take you by surprise, the only way to know that you didn't make them up yourself, in keeping with "a weak and adulterous generation seeks a sign". And that they apply to whatever dilemma you are facing at that moment. They always use the same scriptural symbolism and metaphor.
2. Things in scripture that used to not make sense begin to click.
3. Bonafied messengers. Not what people expect.
4. Opportunities to serve. Down to the second.
5. Tribulation.
6. Moments of bliss, general peace - a different kind.
7. No doubt in your mind that this is the kingdom of Elohim, evidenced by the surreal.
Lots of other things :p

I believe to enter it, you must turn away from sin, and be born again meaning to seek Y'Shua from scratch, starting with His words and always filtering through them.
And then become like a little child, petitioning and serving the Father as one.

THY will be done on EARTH as it is heaven.
His will -- not ours
For Thine is the kingdom and the power now and forever

This prayer was never intended to become a repititious prayer, but instead it is a guideline for how we are to pray

The above referenced prayer is the "disciple's prayer" since Jesus directed them to pray using it.

btw the real "Lord's prayer" is in John 17 below.

"After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
