I would go back to the time of Adam and Eve and stop them from eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. And especially if my time machine were that flying car in "Back to the Future", I'd also do 2 additional things to make sure nobody ever tried to eat the forbidden fruit. First, I would haul that serpent out of the garden and dump him into the middle of the Pacific Ocean. And then I would trim the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil so that only it's highest branches remained, hopefully making it impossible for anyone to reach that tree's fruits, and then I would haul away the cut off branches and dump them into Kilauea's crater. And to make sure Adam and Eve did not try and eat the forbidden fruit, I would put both of them in the back seat and lock them in until my entire job was finished.

Anyone else imagine what they might do if they could go back in a time machine to Adam and Eve?

If you went back and prevent those events you would never have been born.

If I thought I had a time machine I'd destroy it.
Because I know I'm where I'm supposed to be; and I wouldn't want to mess it up.

Sooner or later someone would have eaten the forbidden fruit. As a matter of fact, which one of us is so perfect that we could rightly claim it wouldn’t have been us?

interesting and quite fanciful bibleman. but if you did all you can to stop Adam and Eve, then you i essence would have been preventing free will. not giving them the option to do what is right by refusing whats wrong. anyway, forbidden fruit tastes sweet. they may have wanted it all the more...i have observed something about ppl. they never do what you want if you force them to do it. there is something in us that rebels to that kind of dictatorship. but give them the option and they just might do what you want.

First of all;

If I ever have a time machine, I'll come back visit myself at the present moment and say "dude! here's the plans for a time machine!"
LOL. :D

Secondly;

Bibleman, you make a huge assumption that you could;

1. Enter the Garden of Eden
2. Endure the Glory of God that surrounded Adam and Eve (remember they were made in God's image)
3. Speak the language of our first parents
4. Over power the serpent

If I could've gone back in time, I'd probably go back about 2000 years and tie myself to Jesus. I would eat up every word, learn every action, speak every phrase, I'd mimic him to the max! You'd read about the 13 disciples or it might still be 12, but one of them would be called 'babyboy' :rolleyes:

What Pride and audacity to think that YOU could change the Will of God; To think that YOU could intervene in His divine plan to thwart what He ordained as "PERFECT" and for what purpose?? So that you would not have to suffer? Or you would not have to make a Choice and be held accountable for it? Really?? So that we would then be all robotic in our response to Him? OR...and I truly doubt that this ever entered your mind....so that Jesus would not have to suffer on our account? But wait....if you went back and removed the opportunity to partake of the forbidden fruit from Adam and Eve, there would be no NEED of Jesus!!
I can only hope that you are a relatively new Christian and therefore, zealous, but not necessarily savvy on the ways of the Lord. if that is the case, then I do applaud your zeal but suggest you keep diligently reading His word so that you can better understand WHY He did the things that He did.

2)Where in the world would you even begin to look for them?

All things work together for good to them that love god and are called according to his purpose .I don't think i would change anything. All things were created by him and for him. Praise God

Robotic in our response to Him? Are you suggesting that the Angels and all the other created beings are "robotic in response" to God? God is Love and ALL who worship Him worships Him out of Love.

We would have no need of Jesus to be a Man! But He is still God and He does not change (even if His appearance does). We would still NEED Him, just not as a man - if Adam didn't fall.

Oh, come now....aren't you just arguing for the sake of arguing?? Of course we would still need our Creator! That's a no-brainer. But still....think for ONE moment. God only came to Earth AS Jesus BECAUSE of the error of Adam and Eve and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. And IF one could go back in time and stop satan from interfering, there WOULD BE NO NEED for Him to come and shed His blood for our sins ....NO NEED OF JESUS. But because of His divine plan...that satan WOULD temp Eve and Adam WOULD stand by and watch her go against what she had been told BY ADAM, mind you...Not God Himself (Hence Adam being the one to sin because it was he that had been told directly by God to NOT eat of that tree), He both allowed and ordained that temptation for the sole purpose of giving us a free will. Without that Tree, without temptation, without satan's interference, there would be no free will and without free will to LOVE or to not love, there can be no real love. True obedience takes place both when the Boss is looking and when He isn't....and He always is. /COLOR]

People, because of Adam and Eve's eating of the forbidden fruit, not only is there tremendous suffering in the world, but it has been reported that, for every 1 person that ends up in Heaven, roughly 1,000 people, give or take a few, are ending up in Hell. And not only is Hell totally real, and eternal, but Hell is also totally no good for any human being at all whatsoever! It has even been reported that any sane person would not even want the worst behaved person; even Adolf Hitler, Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Kim Il-Sung, or even Kim Jong-Il, to ever end up in Hell! But shockingly, even priests, pastors, and even Pope John Paul II have been spotted in Hell by several people who went there and came back. Because Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, even Jesus says, right in Matthew 7:21-23; "Not everyone who calls me "Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and drive out demons in your name?' And I will say to them, 'Depart from me, you workers of iniquity!'" He even says in Matthew 5:20; "Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers, you will not enter Heaven." Literally, Jesus appears to have told us that, in order to have a chance at eternal life, we are to both, accept Jesus as Savior and follow all 667 rules right down to the first letter. Especially since it has also been confirmed by others who saw Hell in a near-death experience that just one single unrepented sin will land a person in Hell.

Additionally, as I said before, not only would I overpower the serpent, but I would go in there with a chainsaw, and prune the Tree of Knowledge so that only it's highest branches remained. I'd likely even trim it so that the lowest twigs were at least 25 feet above ground level, and the lowest large limbs and handholds were at least 15 feet above the ground. And then I would gather up every single fruit, twig, stick, and branch, bag all the debris together, fly to Kilauea's crater, and dump it all into the lava. With the Tree of Knowledge pruned like that, nobody would ever be able to even climb it, let alone eat it's fruits. And had nobody ever eaten the forbidden fruit, Hell would be really empty, and Satan and his demons would have the isolation they deserve!

awww...bibleman, i see that you really mean well.its not easy to see the devastating effects of sin and separation. but dont worry. this story has a wonderful ending. and rem,we all have a choice to make just like adam and eve. everyone in hell has sadly made their descion too.

i think that this redemption story where God himself came to save us, is the most wonderful love story of all.Its beautiful... it may have started out badly but it has a happy ending for those who believe.

If you could go back in time and stop what? Just as your time machine would settle down in the garden, God would strike you dead.

Don't mess with God's plan.

Who do you think put that tree there? And why? Satan, as Christ told, "has demanded to sift you men as wheat". We are here because Satan demanded it, so God built it and we prove it out. But the forum in which loyalty ot God is proved, or not, is not forever lasting.

Soon it's done, Christ will come and gather His chosen who remain, and Satan's challenge is satisfied.

Wipe the slate clean.
