Deliverance ministries are like Scientology?Get delivered from deliverance ministries

I stumbled upon a video on "deliverance" for Christians.

In a nutshell, this speaker was saying Christians need to constantly be delivered from hoards of demons that are latched on to them.

The deliverance teacher made it sound like Christians have hoards of demons latched on to them. Special "revelation" may be needed so you know how to get certain demons to unlatch.

This immediately made me think of Scientology. Scientologists think humans need to be freed of clinging alien soul remnants created by Xenu.

Some deliverance ministries mirror the beliefs found in Scientology, more than they do the beliefs found in the Bible.

Christians don't need to be delivered from a hoard of different demons still clinging to them!
Christians may in fact, need to be delivered from deliverance ministries.

The Bible says Christians USED TO be under the control of Satan who is now at work in those who aren't saved.
Ephesians 2
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.


The Bible says we're seated above Satan, not attached to hoards of his minions.

Ephesians 2
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

The Bible says we've been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ, it doesn't say we're needing to get hoards of demons deflected off of us.

Ephesians 1
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

So if you're in to "deliverance ministries" make sure you're not practicing things that mirror Scientology, more than the Bible.

Jesus himself is our deliverance.

Colossians 1

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood,[c] the forgiveness of sins.

Chase after Jesus, not after hoards of demons you think are clinging to you.

Amen what a plague these socalled ministries are. Not having a clue what the flesh is
or the work of sanctification....they want to streamline Gods method for a man/method.

Many folks have been wounded by these ministries...making people confess all their past sins
to the group, which exposes your soul to strangers....then they control them until they break, or get brainwashed and carry on the
dangerous work onto others.

Imagine telling someone the works of the flesh is a demon...you get delivered, but the flesh is still
there since youve not renewed your mind and resisted the temptation...naturally the next day the
same temptation arises. Well not to you...to you the demon came back..because of this false teaching.
Now they have control of you as long as you have a sin nature

Imagine someone hears Jesus said come unto me all that labor and are heavy laden..ill give you rest.....then you go into this bondage

Personal experience says otherwise if I may add a contrast viewpoint to this thread;

For around 1 year I struggled with constant demonic oppression, hearing voices with wicked thoughts and seeing lots of demons; they are real and I did get deliverance many times except most (not all) would come back because the strongholds were not torn down.

Clearly this is real and its also biblical

Ephesians 6 touches base on spiritual warfare, and 2 Corinthians 10:4, for the Word of God which we read and apply, is used to fight against the weapons of the devil; lies, flattery, condemnation, and any other falsehood. If we have a belief that is not in line with the Scriptures it becomes a stronghold and we can get voices and oppression.

Just today praise God for victory, fear is a crippling stronghold and it gives lots of power unfortunately to the enemy to oppress.

I am not denying the fact that the flesh is constantly a source of evil defiling the soul and spirit, but we have grace and the power of the Holy Spirit and the weapons of warfare (prayer, fasting, abstinence and cutting off the flesh feeding sources) to mortify the flesh.

Also there are spirits everywhere, ask for spiritual discernment and open eyes, its biblical (old testament spirit of stupor, II kings the story of Elisha and his servant, new testament men with unclean spirits, still happening all over the place).

They are the ugliest things you will EVER see. They have no presice shape, the eyes are smoky and also like "out of focus" Almost like death in a cloudy grey color. They have no arms, except if they want to "cling" to a soul. Their bodies are black-grey, all one color. Some are skinny and long, and others are fat and short.

They can fly. They burn when the LIGHT OF CHRIST touch them. I know some people will make jokes about this, but then you asked and I am sharing, there is nothing funny about this. When a certain father had a boy that was cast into a fire, he did not think this was funny. Even the disciples could not get that demon out, and Jesus was UPSET that they failed.

I had a friend that was also flung to the floor, and one day we sat on the table having supper, all of a sudden his nose would start running, and you can talk to him but he does not respond at all... You could see the man SUFFERS inside, and let me tell you that is NOT a pretty sight. Lots of doctors said it is epileptic (spelling?) but God said it was a demon.

Who does the SHOUTING when they leave a person. Why did the man with LEGIO in him wanted to follow Jesus AFTER they left and went into the pigs? Nope demon posession is a fact like God's ministry how to get rid of them are.
But there is also a lot of FALSE demon chasers out there.... Just like False teachers, False doctriner and PLENTY false churches....

Almos typed Bethy (Elizabeth) if you have not seen one, do not wish too see one. If God gives you descirment, you will see just how many there are, and if God does not give you stength, you will be VERY AFRAID. There are PLENTY evil demons here. And only THE HOLY PEOPLE OF GOD are protected from them. If you challange them, you propably will come short, Except if God is your LORD. He is TRULY the only one that can protect against them.

What most people do not even know is that God protected them even when they were doing the same things the demons did.... SIN! Man if people would just know the Bible and the Truth, they would be far less cocky about the evil side.

Let me ask you this.... This man that had more than a thousand demons in him, what did he do to deserve those demons? Why did God not protect him? Was that man so much more a sinner than you Elizabeth? Or me? If God did remove, or keep away ALL demons from me, why do I still sin? God says in 1 John 5:18, that the wicket cannot touch His Children.... But what happens if the evil can touch a person?

I saw demons leave a person, I witnessed how a man that beat his family to a pulp at least once a month change from EVIL eyes to GODLY LIGHT. I witnessed how even the blood on his fists and clothes VANISH to nothing. I saw how the open wounds of the victoms heal like in movies... I witnessed how demons fly into the dark sky after a holy man spoke to them. They were so scared, that they scream when they fly off. Oh the LIGHT of God is so pure and powerful. NO DARKNESS wants to be in that light.

Whn God uses one of His Children to clean up a household, that household gets ENLIGHTENED. God SHINES: IN, OVER, THROUGH and AROUND them FOREVER. NO DARKNESS CAN HAVE COMMUNION WITH THEM EVER AGAIN. I witnessed a young man turning from pain and suffering and evil to a calm, at rest and a enlightened figure in ten seconds. When the young man rose from the floor after falling on his hands and knees in the presence of the LIGHT OF GOD, he fell as EVIL BEFORE GOD. But when the demons left, if I remember correctly they were eight demons, and GOD SAID... RISE SON YOU ARE HEALED... I saw the most beautiful blue eyes on a person. That young man was made a NEW CREATURE in ten seconds. God's deliverance is FINAL!

But I know what 1Still is talking about, I am NOT talking about this, I talk about WHEN GOD SENT A PERSON TO DELIVER. If you want to get it right.... WHEN GOD DELIVERS THROUGH ONE OF HIS PEOPLE... It is BEAUTIFUL TO WITNESS.

Oh my friend was also freed by a person that fasted and pryed for four days. He NEVER got another attack after he was set free. My friend passed on, A FREE MAN. There are two people I know who went on, that I believe went on to a better place. They were both so at peace, and healthy and so GODLY, I have to think of them as enlighting...

May God be with us, and may we be people that can help the ones that cannot get free. The ones that are TRULY in chains... Remember how Jesus blew over the disciples and said.... RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.... and they had authority over evil spirits and could heal the sick? May God also help us to help.

I have seen demons. The first time I saw one I was a boy. It was inside a mirror, glowing a red-orange color and it appeared to be a face of a human. The second time I saw one it appeared to be a dark shadow in the shape of my older son. I saw it out the corner of my eye as it walked into my room. The third time I saw it was in a psychic vision. It appeared to be thin, red and had large crescent horns, one on each side of it's head.

Demons can take on any form they wish. Eve saw satan as a snake. They can even appear to be an angel of light or even can appear looking like Jesus. Who knows what they really look like.

Thanks for your post. People who believe demons can be cast out on this forum are often mocked, ridiculed and told what about how wrong or how unbiblical deliverance is by those who never confronted a demon. A few months ago a similar discussion actually caused a good man to leave this forum as the posts were filled with vitriol against him.

I have made no secret that I have gone thru the process of deliverance. I am so grateful for it. I got to see first hand the power of God, the healing touch of Jesus and lives changed, especially mine.

Therein bodes the $64,000 question,Does anyone really know? See the Bible doesn't say what they look like,but often people who say they are ugly and hideous leave out that Satan can transform himself into an angel of light. And if he can do that if it suits his purposes of deception to do so can he not appear as one of the most creatures that was ever created? And if it suits his purpose to instill fear in us could he not also appear as ugly and hideous?

Most Christians do not stand on God's Word when He tells us first greater is He who is in us then he who is in the world and RESIST the Devil and he will flee. (It points to the fact that in a believers life that stands on God's word Satan is a coward) Satan can not stand,he has already lost and is a defanged neutered roaring lion. We just need to trust God at His word.

Reading all this was very interesting. I wa given deliverance ministry, but mine was done by the holy spirit. Let me tell you a story, within the first week of my conversion I left my flat and walked into town, as I walked I saw a young lady and the feelings of lust overwhelmed me to the point that I had to stand still and close my eyes and pray in the spirit. As my journey continued there were other feelings like greed, jealousy, hate, as I remember now there were about seven of them which I remember thinking was a bit weird, 7 deadly sins etc, I ended up going home to my flat and as I walked up a small ally way the air around me became thick like treacle, it was like looking through a heat haze, it felt like alternating from a freezer to an oven, and I don't mind admitting I was a little scared. It seemed to take all my effort to run into my flat where I slammed the door behind me and said "Thank you Jesus", as I said it there was a scream, a loud scream that seemed to travel away from me in to the distance until it could not be heard any more.
I was in a shared house and my flat was on the ground floor but I know that the family living on the first floor also heard the scream.
Jesus is good, He will not let any thing be where He has dominion, like Cobus says darkness can not be where light is

What does any of this have to do with I just said? As a believer we are to stand on God's Word. Where in God's word does it say that demons are hideous,ugly creatures? You can't find it. That comes out of mythology. You can find hobgoblins,orcs,vampires,imps,gremlins,werewolves,etc all in mythology. All that is meant to do is inspire fear. NO WHERE IS A CHRISTIAN EVER TOLD TO FEAR SATAN. We are to fear God.

2 Corinthians 11

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

No where in the Bible can you find that a Christian is to fear Satan,we are told to resist him,we are told that HE who is in us is GREATER then he who is in the world. Either that is true or it is not. Even in Job God shows us that Satan is on a leash. He is only allowed to do as God allows him and no more.

I think there are two extremes - one is demons and spirits in everything 'spirit of lust, spirit of envy, spirit of whatever, which tends to try to alleviate the responsibility of man for having an envious lustful sin problem. The other is the Christian naturalist - where no evil spirit actually exists, it's just God, and most of the time they don't actually believe Satan exists, it's 100% man doing the wicked things that he does.

The bible talks about giving a foothold for Satan - an area for him to work on your life
It talks about wrestling with not only flesh and blood but the spiritual forces of wickedness
Satan hinders, blinds, uses as instruments, and deceives people
Jesus, when we are under His authority, we receive authority over spiritual forces of wickedness

I like the Illustration of a an open baby grand piano - if you sing into it say a B flat - the B flat string will vibrate. Satan and his host speak into our lives, and different strings vibrate - gossip/lust/wrath - whatever it might be for that particular person

I have only 3 experiences with the Demonic I can remember - one time, it was at my old apartment, in the middle of the night, I could sense evil in the room, i refused to open my eyes, and plead the blood of Christ and my victory in Him. Later when I told my roomate, he told me that he's actually seen it himself, one night when he had friends over - a shadowy figure in the doorway of my room(thanks for telling me this before right)

The second one was accusation, I was going to grad school and driving home 40 minutes. I remember having a discussion that could have lead to an opportunity to witness to my teacher and my class, but she shut me down. I left class, and as soon as I got into the car - audibly in my head, my voice - They don't like you, Why are you here? You shouldn't come back, awful things, now mind you I am about 30 yrs old at the time - crying my eyes out, and having no scripture memory for that moment. I only remembered that on the way home there was a Christian book store, where I sought refuge

The last time, I was talking with a girl who lived in the North East, while i lived in the south, and I was trying to wash her in the word, of a troubled past, and trying to build our relationship. I went out to the town to get a sub sandwhich etc, as soon as I got on the road - same voices "she doesn't like you" "she'll never move down here" She'll never be with you" This time, yeah i remember shedding a few tears, but I could remember some scripture and put praise music on

Some people are offered up to satan, literally satanist cults, and some people give themselves over to dabble in things like the occult, wicca, tarot readings, and the sort, those are not a joke, or a laughing matter at all. WE have to ask ourselves, and ask the Lord if habitual sin is empowered by the demonic, and if we don't want to change - that demonic force will not leave, but if we do want change - we need to pursue it, and ask the Holy SPirit to fill that place
