Well, obviously death... eternal damnation or annihilation or whatever... after you leave this earth. So yay! Explain how this knowledge save a person in this life though? I've never heard a valid answer. I was listening to a song by Petra. It was called For Annie or something... basically it's about a girl named Anne who killed herself. The song continues with "and it's too late for Annie. She's gone away for good. So much we could tell her and now we wish we could. We would tell her Jesus loves her. Tell her Jesus cares. Tell her he can free her and her burdens bare." So... what is this knowledge supposed to do? How would it have helped Annie? So Jesus cares and loves her. Yay! But this knowledge doesn't change anything in her present life... and it seems like this would only entice her to seek out death so she could experience this.

(Oh and I don't buy the bull about suicide is a one way ticket to hell and if you believe that way, just humor me)

I can explain this from my own introspect but it would take pages to lay the groundwork for my past story. In a nutshell, I know what it's like to be near suicide. I tried everything else in the world to get better, including medication. Only one thing in this world was able to pull me out of my hole. I was so deep in the ground that the sky wasn't even visible above me anymore.

So by the grace of God I remembered my roots and what I had learned as a teenager about Jesus and how he can save us from ourselves. I started praying. I gave up anything that would inhibit me focusing on him. And I started reading my bible again. One day I woke up after praying and balling my eyes out and felt good for the first time in a long time. I woke up with this epiphany happening.

I felt "lighter" in my conscience and thoughts. I literally felt some kind of physical and mental freedom. Something surfaced in me from that day forth and the epiphany, or realization of the truth has not left me. I think this is what the bible means by, I once was blind but now I see. Some kind of scales have literally been removed from my souls eyes and the chains of bondage loosened.

Jesus saved me from my despair, my depression, my hopeless thoughts, and many, many sins I was trapped in. The truth, and trusting in Jesus literally set me free when nothing else in this world could have. It's more than a feeling, it's very, very real, and is evident in the changes I've made.

Jesus saves us from the lies of the world. He shows us what it really means to live for God and have a true purpose in life. He shows us what it means to love.

often people carry burdens and chains of past regrets and abuses and hurts and bitterness and anger. it eats away at them and leaves them hollow inside. the Gospel of Christ allows them to lay the burdens down and rest in still waters. it allows them to know the peace and joy that comes for God even in this life. the world may change and the troubles will come but God's peace and love endures forever. to know and experience that Rest and joy would allow one to overcome the lies that would have you take your life because you would know that if you are alive God has a purpose for you to do in this world. a person to touch, a child to love, a place to be, a reason to live for Him and His glory.

I think he saves us from the wrath of God that will be poured out on all men when God judges all creation. I also think we were all condemned at the cross for our sin. We all are dead in our sin. Repentance, Rebirth through Christ and atonement is the only way out of Gods judgment.

I was saved from myself and my lack of knowledge. I was on a destructive path of poor choices. I followed every wind and doctrine which lead me down paths of confusion. I was saved from evil that surrounded me. I was saved from being sucked into the deceitfulness of the world. Trusting Jesus kept my heart from turning bitter. I had so much garbage in my spirit even though I had faith and Jesus cleansed the inside of my cup.
I didn't come to Jesus after a life of rebellion. I had always believed in Him. I was born again in the innocents of my youth not after a life time of living a wicked life. I was saved from myself.

You are saved from God's wrath. I know the skeptics love to mock and say , "save yourself from what I will do to you if you dont worship me".

While this seems to be the message, if one is seeking truth, and digging in God's word, it's more than that.

God wants us to choose him, because it shows our love for him. That's why he gave us free will and did not make us robots.

We obey him, it shows we love him - jn 14:15

Those who love themselves more than God, will be condemned because they reject him.

Sin is of Satan, Satan will be destroyed, so will his children.

God has provided a way of escape for all of us who hear the word, he sacrificed his own son. Seeing he did this, justifies the punishment of those who do not accept the sacrifice an innocent man made on their behalf.

Those outside of Christ will be condemned - Rom 8:1

Those who live in their own lusts, are by nature the children of wrath - Eph 2

This condemnation and wrath is what we are saved from.

Not a better life here on earth, look at what the early Christians went through, not saved from ourselves as some say, I was never going to condemn myself.

We are saved from God's wrath - II Thess 1:6-8

Now I know that does not make sense to those who do not believe, so you have two choices:
1. Search the scripture to find out why
2. Reject it right off the bat because you may not like the message.

Either one will not change the fact we will all face God, and we will all be judged.

What does Jesus save you from in this life?
It's not so much about being saved from eternal damnation, .....at least not in
this life.
It's all about a relationship, in this life.
It's like being born into a new universe in this life.
You have a different perspective. - - -
(Not rules and regulations cajoled by a religious belief system.)

I don't know how to explain it,.........it's like a new being inside of you.
It's like a new conscious, living, intellect that exudes love.
(And leads you into all truth.)
---I don't know how to explain it better then that.

When we sin, we put ourselves in a position to be tormented forever by Satan. Jesus saved us from that with his death on the cross.
