Sometimes it sounds like people are lusting for judgement.

Now, I love this verse from Psalms:
My soul longs, yea, faints for the COURTS OF MY LORD. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

But this verse always jumps out to me when discussing revelation, and prophecy, armageddon.
Amos 5: 18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of THE LORD is darkness, and not light.

What does it mean for you? Don't you desire Jesus and His return? Doesn't that mean that the day of The Lord has come?

I guess I'll just trust God whatever comes; it's always worked so far.

Yes. Because "at hand" means within reach. Nothing to do with time.

The events described as coming at the end of the age are terrible ghastly and I would not wish them on any person saved or not. You've read the revelation you should already know what is due during that period and you want to disagree with Amos?

The Holy Spirit should guild you to His Word, the bible for the mean. The Holy Spirit speaks to us through His word. I've said this before, Our experiences, dreams, visions and thoughts are notoriously unreliable and always need to be checked with a subjective framework, which is the Word of God.

How do you know its the Holy Spirit tell you something and not your own thoughts?

So what does this have to do with the sky falling?
Just as you said, people have been saying this for 2000 years, but not as many are entering it.
And making the comparison between the words "heaven" and "sky", and between the biblical statement and it's understanding, with the story of chicken little, who proclaimed the kingdom of heaven by saying "the sky is falling" over and over to many friends, but they never got there because of the fox.

The Holy Spirit speaks through whomever He chooses, because He knows the heart.

I want to clarify something. for us the day of christs return is a good thing and yes there will be light. maybe not for all but for us in christ there will be. we should be excited for his return and i for one am willing giveup all i have for this to happen

maybe for some but not me, the holy spirit tells me the meaning of my dreams and visions. But looking for it in the bible isnt a bad idea i just don't know where to even begin looking but the holy spirit always brings to rememberance a verse in the biblle i thought i had long forgottento explain my dreams

Well, one time I dreamt that I was reading the bible, and there was a prophecy concerning my state of Ohio. I literally saw the words Ohio in the scripture in my dream. Right after the dream I woke, thought a bit, and went back to sleep. When I got up for the day, I dismissed the dream because I know that Ohio was never mentioned in the bible. Therefore my conclusion is that dreams and visions, and even our thoughts are unreliable and should also be checked and measured up with the Word of God. Where do you think the teachings of many colts come from? Joseph Smith and the Mormon religion for one.

Another example, back in my late teen years 19 or so, I had a dream where I was in a battle with Satan, and He over powered me and plunged a dagger through my back and heart. This dream disturbed me for quite sometime, especially back then because I wasn't living a life in line with the Lord. I felt defeated and scared.
But later I realized that Satan killed Jesus too, but to no avail. Fighting against Satan also gave a since that at least his was my enemy, and not God. See, Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy John 10:10. I am 46 now and still remember that dream, as a reminder of who I am in Christ and that I'm in a spiritual war.

Sorry, this is off topic.

well the ohio dream could be god telling you something, just because it's not in the bible doesnt meangod isnt reaching out to you you just hve to be willing to listen. as for the other dream that is disturbing and it could very well be satan trying to scare you in your faith. god will often speak to us in dreams but the devil will too. you just have to be able to tell which is which

and you do that by checking the foundation and framework found the Word of God! If you don't, it will lead into all kinds of flights of fantasy.

The verse is meant for those living in apostasy. People who want to live their own lives but call them selves followers of Christ and looking forward to His return. Woe to you. The whole chapter is enlightening. God beckons Israel to "Seek the Lord and live", "Seek good, and not evil", "Hate the evil, and love the good" yet they refused and still celebrate the Lord.

They do things like:

Continuing in feast days (verse 21)
offer God burnt offerings and meat offerings (verse 22)
Sing Praises to God (verse 23)

But God rejects it all. Looking forward to the day of the Lord and living in apostasy, how silly!
