I received this from a church I used to attend, It's not int he flow of bible discussion but I thought it deserved some attention.
To encourage you:
We learned from colleagues about incredible flooding that destroyed the Bible translation office in Ambon, Indonesia. They lost all their computers, etc. and the damage to the facility and supplies stored there was tremendous. Thousands of Scripture portions were damaged by the flood waters and sadly thought to be a total loss.
As neighbors helped clean it up, they asked if they could have some of “those books.” Word spread quickly through the neighborhood—free books! Soon dozens of people came asking to take some of the books—Scriptures—home! (Most of the books were printed in the Ambonese language of the people in this area). For days people could be seen washing and drying Scripture portions in their homes and yards throughout the neighborhood. They hadn't known anything was available in their language!* God has a distribution plan that was beyond our scope!
