So Lately I have been telling god what i want to be in him( Agian) But this time was different, a thought was put into my mind and as god's will for me has been becoming my desires i wonder if this has somehing to do with that. I Told god i wanted to become A knight of christ with the my faith love and respect for him to be like that of Iron and covered in his blood. Now i do not know if iron and blood have meaning or not but i will continue I told him how i wanted to one day kneel before him like that of a knight before a king( And I have imagined what that would be like and trust me it's magnificent!) and to have the fiery sword of truth in my right hand and the word of god in my left and to smite evil at his command. I told him how it is the job of a commanding officer to inspire his army into battle and to not leave even one man behind and how a commanding officer could make even the weakest worrior into the strongest. And i told him this is what i wanted to do for him and the army of christ, In my mind I could see the spiritual armor i would have and it shines and sparkles. I know this is strange and i must be very weird but i needed help understanding if this has any meaning, like if it has symbolism and if this was truly from god and not me getting carried away.
Blain;
I must be very bold in answering your questions. I am going to start at the end of your post. Is this you getting carried away? Yes, this is you getting carried away, due to lack of understanding how God works in and through the lives of those seeking his face.
The very first thing I see in your post is YOU are telling God what YOU want him to do with you. This is not how God works. We do not tell God how to use us.
We can share with God how we would love to serve him. Yes! But this is different than telling him how to use us. Sharing our dreams with God is very pleasing to him because he is our Father. Just as we take pleasure in our own children sharing ther dreams with us.
We must come to God in this manner:
Acts 9:6 (KJV)
6 ......... Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? ...........
Then we must be content with were God has us right now. Not looking a far off to a place we think we could do more for God.
We do not want to find ourselves like Jonah. He figured he could serve God better some place other than were God was placing him.
Blain, I come ever so boldly to you in this matter out of the love of Jesus Christ, because I have been in your position. I understand quite well what it is like to want God to use me the I want to be used.
I had to learn the hard way, that it is not my way but God's way.
Isaiah 55:6-9 (KJV)
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts
are not your thoughts, neither
are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For
as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Psalm 62:8 (KJV)
8 Trust in him at all times;
ye people, pour out your heart before him: God
is a refuge for us. Selah.
Proverbs 30:5 (KJV)
5 Every word of God
is pure: he
is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Ephesians 6:10-11 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
One last thing before I end, I leave you with a word of encouragement, and hope, from our LORD.
He gives you the armor of a soldier. Let him show you how to use it for HIS GLORY.
God had a suit of armour for you! Go forth to battle soldier!
Ephesians 6:13-17 (KJV)
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
