This morning I hope to start a thread where we will not argue, because something very special happened to me this week. I met a man that does not doubt God for ONE SECOND.

FAITH! IF you ask me have you EVER met a man of faith, I would have to say YES! I will share a little, but enough to encourage all about God and how pwoerful He is.

God calls us from all walks of life. God called the fisherman to be his disciles. God called a short fella that climbed a tree. God called an Enoch that was on his way back home. God called the fiercest man Saul, on his way to capture more Christians. God called me, by hearing His prayer. The " Our Father which art in heaven..."

Then God calls people, lying paralized in a field, after a horrific car accident. God calls some in a storm. God called this man whom I will call Ben, also in a very miracilous way. That was the calling, but the words that God said was.... MY WORK IS NOT DONE THROUGH YOU YET!...

Ok! this man recieved a message, that God said to him that God's work was not done through him yet.... Now! This is the message....

When we start our walk with God, the Bible says that Satan is like a ROARING LION that wants to see who he can devour (1 Peter 5:8)... But the advice AGAINST THIS ROARING LION is what I saw in this man..... God gives us some advice how to RESIST this LION.
God says... Be sober, be vigilant, resist steadfast in faith.... ONLY SUFFER A WHILE... And then something God will do will transpire.... But the God of grace, who have called us unto ETERNAL GLORY by Jesus Christ, AFTER THAT YOU HAVE SUFFERED A WHILE, MAKE YOU PERFECT, STABLISH, STRENGTHEN, SETTLE YOU. (1 PETER 5:10)

I met a man, who also sufferred a while, who God made perfect, God stablished this man, God strengthened this man, and Gos settled this man. He CANNOT doubt God, because God already FINISHED him. God is now DOING the work tht need to be finished. The WORK this man is doing is God's! that work is not finished, but the SUFFER FOR A WHILE is! The Work God did on this man is complete. The WORK tis man does is not yet complete, and yesterday, I was blessed to witness that work. Ben, a complete man of God!

Thank you Lord, Father in heaven, that Christ Jesus is alive and still working your Word/Work here on earth. Father thank you for the work Messiah Jesus already did in me, and thank you Father, that you also called me. Father STRENGTHEN me, STABLISH me, PERFECT me, and SETTLE me. For Thine is the Honor, and the Golry, and the Power, forever and ever, Amen!

Trust the Lord, and have NO DOUBT that HE IS THE ONE THAT WILL DO THIS FOR US, AMEN!

Just your opinion. The suffering will go on until he reaches glory and thats not in this life
read hebrews 11, read about the lives of the apostles...suffering stops at death.

Even Jesus Himself suffered to the very end. No man will be finished or perfected in this life.
If you want scriptures to prove that just ask. If not just ignore my post.

Words have meanings like the word "perfect" which does not mean what our contemporary word implies.
And it doesnt have the same meaning in every place its used.

Suffering for God is not IMPERFECT Abiding. Even the suffering you think of is God's Glory. Paul said EVEN death is a gain. But suffering because you sin... Now that is another matter. The suffering we talk about, is not the suffering because of sin, we talk about THIS suffering, to be for a while be pestered by the LION, or the LIONS children. Did we not ask God this as well..... Father lead us not in temptation but deliver us from evil.... It is truly a pity your God does not hear your prayer. My Father does deliver me from evil, RIGHT HERE ON EARTH. Bacasue as He is, so are we in this world. How is your God? Mine is ONLY GOOD AND PERFECT!

Well first God told you nothing.
Second ive got no faith that isnt built upon His word. So of coarse i dont believe that.
And your the one who said your mans suffering was over...at least remember your own stories.

If a man is filled with the Spirit, what is the work that God has called him to do? What is the active life of that believer who is Spirit-filled? We know that he is not living in sin but what is he doing in terms of the work of God? Is he preaching the gospel to every creature? Is he laying his life down for the brethren? Is he trusting God for the promises that have been given and is acting upon them by faith? Is he praying without ceasing with intercession and supplication with the Spirit's help? Is he edifying and building up the members of God's body, the church, so that they can grow together in the grace of God as a habitation of God through the Spirit?

Is this man you refer to a friend of sinners and does he count his own life as dung that he might win Christ in becoming all things to all people? Does he condescend to men of low estate and humble himself before the mighty hand of God and is able to receive grace and truth from others? Does he fellowship with other believers based upon the grace and truth that is found in Christ? Does he believe that all things are of God and that all things are for his sake working together for the good, even if it means to experience what Job went through and concluded, 'Though He slay me yet will I trust him'?

Is he a man of faith that looks at the things are not as though they were? Does he believe that Rahab the harlot was saved by God as a woman of faith when she protected the spies? Does this man have a perfect faith that works by a perfect love that never fails and casts out all fear? Is every imagination and thought of this man free from iniquity and one who understands God's ways perfectly? Is this man so perfect that all His ways are pleasing to God so much so that God would take him up as He did Enoch and Elijah without having faced death of the body? Even our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, God in the flesh did not escape death and died as the Son of God and the son of man, was buried and then rose from the dead.

Is this perfect man escaping the fate of all men whose outward man is perishing? Does this man never sow to his own flesh and without fail continually sows to the Spirit? Can we now be made perfect without the redemption of our bodies that can only take place after Christ appears and calls us up all those who are dead and alive in Christ? Is this man so in tune with God that there is never an occasion for him to receive grace because of failure, stumbling, misjudgments or some form of sin that might just happen in his life by saying something he should not have said or by omitting something that he should have done? God knows what is in the heart of every man, but do you? Do you think that God is not able to ordain circumstances to get this man to react in the flesh and sin with his tongue or have a thought that is not pleasing to God? If you can show me this man then I will show you the second coming of the Messiah.

Hi Cobus
I was a young christian when I met a 85 year old man in the church. He was a man who never doubted God and He had so much faith in God. His wife was not a christian and he always came alone to church. He had his struggles with his unbelieving wife but he never wavered not faltered. Every sunday I saw a shine on his face and the joy in his eyes. He would always greet me and say "May God bless you today child. All glory and praise to God. He is good. God can do all things".
1 year later his wife threw him out of the house and another christian took him into his home. And you know what, every sunday, he would say the say thing to me with joy and he proclaims that one day, God will restore his home. Now thats faith.
True to his word and faith God did restore his relationship with his wife. His wife asked him to come home. He never doubted for one minute that God will restore his relationship.
His faith and his trust in God really inspired me.

You speak of a mature man, one who trusts God, leans not on his own understanding and believes the promises of God. This man would never confess that he is perfect in his experience but would glorify God for the mercy and grace that has made him to be who he is in Christ. Is that right?

Let Cobus tell us.
Why judge you him?
All I'm saying is,...... let him testify.
Perhaps this man will lead him into grace.
Godspeed Cobus!

Cobus, the 'lion' roars and everybody around hears. The 'lion's roar is mighty. Yet this is a lion to guard man from the snakes and serpents. A lion with a weapon of division and mediation. A weapon that swings both ways and only cuts the 'hair' of any in the way.

Then the image in the 'mirror' is clean.

This lion I could lie beside and it will eat a plate of vegetables with me.

'When I have wrought with you, for MY NAMES SAKE, then you will know, that I AM THE LORD'.

Cobus.
your joy is evident!:)
this man is complete because his faith is saving faith!
but guess what Cobus - you've met lots of people who are complete (perfect) as your friend is.
right here:) not because of anything they have done, but because of what The Lord has done > The Author AND perfecter of our faith.

the suffering a little while, i know what that is in terms of our calling and repentance (the old man suffering and dying). that was agony. but i'm glad that old man is dead - he might not accept it yet, but he's buried.

the joy comes with the raising of the new man, established by God Alone, through His Own Mighty working in His called - through His means - FAITH in Jesus.
but i agree with abiding....suffering continues, but now we suffer in spite of being IN Jesus. not because we are against Him.

i like your post Cobus.
i see your new man coming out of the grave. just like lazarus.
do you?:)
did you raise yourself from the dead, brother?

love zone.

stop struggling! don't fight your brothers who have been alive longer than you, maybe.
who can resist The Lord's will?
are you a new man or not Cobus?
yes, you are:) i see a different Cobus from one year ago.
but slow down, brother.
look around. see the Kingdom?
