For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

ευαγγελιον noun - accusative singular neuter
euaggelion yoo-ang-ghel'-ee-on: a good message, i.e. the gospel -- gospel.

Cognate: 2098 euaggélion – the Gospel – literally, "God's good news." See 2097 (euangelizō). The Gospel (2098 /euaggélion) includes the entire Bible, i.e. it is not limited to how a person becomes a Christian.

2097 euaggelízō (from 2095 /eú, "good, well" and angellō, "announce, herald") – properly, proclaim "the good message" (good news). Matthew 18

10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. 11 For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.[a]
12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? 13 And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

Luk 8:18 Therefore be careful how you hear. For whoever has, to him shall be given; and whoever has not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have.

Most have never heard the real gospel according to godliness, today we are seeing many who profess Christ as savior but do not hear truth, so they assume they know truth when in reality they have never crucified thier flesh with Christ in repentance, and are following the original sin, substitution, saved IN sin gospel, such as what Billy Graham teaches.

If this is you I urge you to dig deep, come out of her, and seek truth with all your heart and soul, and God will bless you!

Which I command you!

Deu 4:2 You shall not add to the Word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, so that you may keep the commands of the Lord your God which I command you.

This is not so in the church today, I believe the word of God should remain pure and undefiled by man, and when you go back to the reformation this verse should ring for eternity to those who have taken and added and subtracted from the word of God!
Most will argue against this verse and many others, that admonish against adding and subtracting from the word of God, saying it doesn't matter what you add or subtract to the Holy writ, as long as you believe in Jesus and that He died for your sins.
I see this as a lack for the love of the truth, which we are commanded to do, as Jesus was pure in all His ways, and so was every word He spoke, so to me ,saying adding and subtracting from the word doesn't matter, is saying Jesus and His pure heart doesn't matter either.
It all comes together, repentance, faith, obedience, heart purity, and keeping the word pure, and loving and defending it.
How can you keep and obey the commands of the Lord, when you seek out false teachers who constantly add or subtract from the word of God, it just ends in confusion and a false sense of security, where you remain in bondage to the many lies that teach a false way to the cross that seems right to you, but in the end leads to a dead end!
Deu 12:32 All the things I command you, be careful to do it. You shall not add to it, nor take away from it.

Genesis 22
1After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here am I.” 2He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” 3So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac. And he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. 4On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar. 5Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boya will go over there and worship and come again to you.” 6And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together. 7And Isaac said to his father Abraham, “My father!” And he said, “Here am I, my son.” He said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” 8Abraham said, “God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they went both of them together.

The best and clearest presentation I've heard of the Gospel was just a couple of weeks ago in this excellent talk by Michael Horton. Enjoy!

Good Question Zone!!!

Matthew 9:11-13
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

The gospel preached by the apostle Peter (Acts Chapter 2) includes topics I don't hear much about. I include all things common, equality, no respect of persons, unity, casting lots, etc in the gospel, just as it is in the Bible. This also helps people to truly count the cost regarding being baptized unto death.

John 3:14-17
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

1 Corinthians 15
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

αμην hebrew transliterated word
amen am-ane': firm, i.e. (figuratively) trustworthy; adverbially, surely (often as interjection, so be it) -- amen, verily.

Philippians 2
4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Does this work?

I just thought it good to let you know about the version you're reading. I'm sure it's edifying, but think about this.

Php 2:6 Who,G3739 beingG5225 inG1722 the formG3444 of God,G2316 thoughtG2233 it notG3756 robberyG725 to beG1511 equalG2470 with God:G2316

You see the word equal (g2470), and the word equality (g2471). It's not for no reason that these two words are different. And Jesus certainly knew that He is God, and that makes Him equal with God.

2Co 8:14 ButG235 byG1537 an equality,G2471 that nowG3568 atG1722 this timeG2540 yourG5216 abundanceG4051 may be a supply forG1519 theirG1565 want,G5303 thatG2443 theirG1565 abundanceG4051 alsoG2532 may beG1096 a supply forG1519 yourG5216 want:G5303 thatG3704 there may beG1096 equality:G2471

I don't know what version that is, and I'm not usually picky, but wow, that's just wrong.

grasped and robbery mean the same thing:)

It's clear to see that

"did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped"

is implying that Jesus is not God.

It's clear to see that

thoughtG2233 it notG3756 robberyG725 to beG1511 equalG2470 with God:G2316

is implying that Jesus is God. I would not read any "Bible" that is indicating that Jesus is not God.

I hear it and remind myself of it daily being fully convinced that it is not just for the unbeliever but very essential for the believer as well. Some Christians make the mistake of saying 'yes, I already know about the message of the cross but I have gone on to deeper things'. Hmmm, you don't get much deeper than pondering that God became man let alone suffered a cruel death in our stead, rising victorious over death, the devil and hell offering His Free Gift (Himself) for our salvation. The best way to go on to sanctification is by holding dear the Gospel truths.
