why did the demons tremble and fear him when he was here.........before his death
The same REason they Fear Us ! We have the POWER of GOD within us ![The Holy Ghost ]

David is not in Hell !He in New Jerusalem ! listen they had to accept HIS Gospel just as we do ! He had to have a gospel firsT

Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Only thur HIS GOSPEL Do Any of Us get Salvation !!!
This is our LORD GOSPEL and only way to salvation

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

1Pe 4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Rom_1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

2Ti_1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

1Co_1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Gal_6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Eph_2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

I believe DAVID is one of the 24 Elders in Heaven [NEW JERUSALEM ] Now sitting on a throne with the 12 disciples and others who were choosen to rule over Israel forever more !

GOD given Each of us a Very High place in His Kingdom ! Joint heirs with Our LORD JESUS ! We are counted there in New Jerusalem Now !
Rev_3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

And HE Declared each of Us Overcomers at Salvation and more than Conquerors ! Because we All have GOD Power within Us !

1Jn_4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
All our Problems are in our Flesh Mind ! The battle field is our Flesh Mind ! That Why we must Fill it with GOD living words and Live them !

Paradise was in Hell ! there were two sides of Hell ! A good side and bad side ! They could see each other and talk !
Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
Luk 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence
Isa_5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

Joh_14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Joh_14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Heb_12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Those Who are Tricked into Refusing HIS Free gift still go to Hell ! We that have Accepted His free gift and him as LORD ! Go Home to new Jerusalem !
We are No longer counted as part of this evil world ! Our Natural home now is New Jerusalem !
Gal_4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all

Joh_17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Joh_17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
of course we still dwell in these weak sin filled bodies a Short time !

Jas_2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead,

Hell is not paradise nor has it ever been.
Revelation 2:7 KJV
(7) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 22:14 KJV
(14) Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

According to these texts paradise is where the tree of life is which is in the city of God in heaven.

Your mistaken ! We do not keep the sabbath because we now live a endless life for him a living sacrifice ! He no longer settles for just one day a week !

Jesus had to come back from the dead before anyone could be saved ! All died in there sins and went to hell to await there messiah , Our LORD JESUS !
1Co 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

Gal_5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Heb_10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Rom_6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Rom_6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Gal_5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Joh_1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Gal_3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal_3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Gal 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
Gal 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
Gal 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
Gal 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Jas_2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Sin is rebellion to GOD ! I live in great freedom ! I love my freedom ! Once we know the truth ? It much easier to serve Him perfectly ! We hate Sin and only want to please our LORD JESUS !

Wow - crazy stuff on this thread - verses and counter verses being thrown around trying to win the argument - and just proving that the Bible needs a sure interpretation when it seems to be unclear - and that this sure interpretation is promised by Jesus in John chapters 14-16 when He speaks of the coming of the Holy Spirit to the Church's teaching authority (the apostolic college) to guide them into all truth and reveal the things that are to come. The first example of this is found in the Book of Acts: the Council of Jerusalem - different interpretations of scripture resolved by discussion and decision and a letter from St Peter 'it seems good to us and the Holy Spirit'. (I like the order there - not that Peter is putting himself before the Holy Spirit - but because the Church, the Bride of Christ, has a real constitution, is a real identity - it is the Body of Christ, who is its Head and Lord).
All THAT to say this:
The Church has received the revelation that Our Lord's soul went to the souls of the Just who were in sheol - separated from God because awaiting the coming of the Saviour. Jesus goes down TO Hell - not INTO Hell - and, indeed, not to the place of damnation but to the place of waiting for His coming of those who died awaiting the coming of the Saviour. According to Church tradition, Our Lord breaks open the doors of death and brings out the souls of the Just - the Patriarchs, King David, the good women of the OT and, ultimately Adam and Eve - and all those who look forward to the day of the Messiah, along with those that Paul will describe in Romans as having followed their conscience and sought to do good.
These souls, then, Our Lord will bring with Him to Paradise before being Resurrected from the dead.
Such is the Church's tradition.
I believe it.

My previous answer to your post was that hell according to the Bible is not called paradise. Paradise is in heaven where the tree of life is. You did not answer my post but, rather said something I did not even mention. Maybe the Holy Spirit was convicting you and that is why you mentioned something that I did not?

,2Ti_1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

1Pe_4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Only our Spirit goes to Heaven [New Jerusalem or Hell deep in the earth !

Gen_3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Rom_7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:

Heb_12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Rom_1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

This is the LORDS Gospel and Only way to salvation !He had to have it First before anyone could have Salvation 1 They waited for Him and His Salvation ! Eternal life!

The Promise was Eternal life ! Which is salvation !

Heb 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

Reade that whole chapter of Heb 11 You will see they all walked in great faith !But None had the promise of Eternal life ! But they all were great men of faith ! They had to wait in Hell for him to go down there and preach His gospel to them ! He went there for three days and nights preaching the way to salvation ! It all about He What did for All of Mankind ! Still we Must accept His gospel as truth and HIm from our Heart [Spirit] as LORD ! HE is already but we must agree !

1Jn_2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

1Pe_3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

Luk_4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

hell is the prison!

Mat_12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Eph_4:10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
Rom_10:7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
1Pe 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Hades, the bosom of Abraham!!!not the final place of torment and separation, know as HELL.
1Pe_4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
Psa_16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Sheol, not Hell as the final destination...Big difference. Bad translation here!
Read these different translations Psalms 16:10 <--(((Click))) #7585 שְׁאוֹל sh@'owl {sheh-ole'} or שְׁאֹל sh@ol {sheh-ole'} from H7592; TWOT - 2303c; n f
—Hebrew Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar)

1) sheol, underworld, grave, hell, pit 1a) the underworld 1b) Sheol - the OT designation for the abode of the dead 1b1) place of no return 1b2) without praise of God 1b3) wicked sent there for punishment 1b4) righteous not abandoned to it 1b5) of the place of exile (fig) 1b6) of extreme degradation in sin
Act_2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Hades not Hell, there is a difference. The correct word for hell is gehenna - and is not used here.
Act_2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. Same deal, not Hell, the correct word is Hades.
Act_13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

Only thur HIS Gospel do any get SALVATION ! Everyone had to have the chance to accept it !First He had to have it !
This is our LORDS Gospel and the Only way to Salvation !
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

It about what HE did !Not what we do ! He did it All , We just accept What He did as truth and HIM from our Heart [spirit] as LORD! He is Already ,But we must Agree !

Jesus did not ascend into HELL, the final destination of the wicked IMO. He really died on the Cross and went to sheol, Hades, the bosom of Abraham, which happens to all of us when we die
. Yes, I believe He when to Hades to preach and proclaim His victory on the cross.

I do not believe that Hell exists yet in its final reality yet, The final judgement did not take place yet; just like the new heavens, new Jerusalem, the heavenly eternal state doesn't have it's final reality yet. These are two states of existence after the Lord comes again.

JESUS did no go to hell.

I repeat JESUS did NOT go to hell.

Ephesians
9 (In saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?
10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)

JESUS was GOD the father in physical form.

GOD the father left HIS kingdom and descended down here to earth.

You need to search the sciptures and ask yourself, why was hell created?????
JESUS was completely sin free, a spotless bride, HE is the alpha and omega the beginning and the end. HE is sovereign, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient. All knowing, everywhere, and all powerful.
JESUS the son knew what would happen to HIM, HE was obedient up until the point of death. HE loved us to the cross, and as for the prince of the power of darkness or the weak one Satan HE knows where HE is going but our GOD is in control of HIM as well.

I could get into a big theological debate but I don't want to. There is

Abraham's bosom is not Sheol, but the part of Sheol which the Gospel of the Kingdom was sent.
The Humanity, being a Jew, had to go to Abraham's bosom, (dust of death, Ps 22:15)
When the GOK was raised with the Humanity, partition was removed and Sheol, (Death), expanded.

Hell is deepp into the earth ! A Holding place for the spirits that have Refused the Free Gift of eternal Life GOD offers to all mankind ! The lake of Fire is the place those who are judged evil go too ! Jesus Had to go to Hell to give all those there a chance to Accept HIS gospel as truth and Him as Lord from there heart [Spirit !]
We are all a Spirit being dwelling a short time in earthly bodies !
1Co_15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Rev_20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rev_20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev_20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This is our LORDS gospel and Only way too Salvation !It about What He did for us !

Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Luk_16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Act_2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

The Greek word Hades is translated from the Hebrew word Sheol original meaning refers to the common grave of mankind. To understand why it came to have the meaning it has today we need to go back to Eden.

At Genesis 2:7 God creates Adam from dust.

At Genesis 2:17 God tell Adam if he eats for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil he would die.

At Genesis 3:19 after Adam sinned, God tell him that he will return to dust, die.

Prior to Creation he was non-existence, dust. After sinning he returned to non-existence, dust. As God said he died, a state of non-existence.

Not dying is a part Satan’s original lie.

At Genesis 3:4 Satan tells Eve she will not die.

The original meaning of Hades would make since and works with God’s punishment. If we continue to live after death in any form Satan would not be a liar.

Back to Jesus.

When Jesus went to hell, Hades, he ceases to exist for this short time. God resurrected him out of Hades, from death, the grave of mankind, and thereafter the power of the resurrection given him, Jesus is the Holder of “the keys of death and Hades.” (Revelation 1:17, 18) He will use these figurative keys in his resurrection of the dead. (John 5:25-29)

Jesus went to hell to free the captives ! He alone was the only way to Salvation ! And it though HIS GOSPEL!
what He did on the Cross for Us All ! Hell still there only bigger now ! those who Reject His Free Gift of Salvation go there to await judgment day ! David in heaven!I guessing He one of the 24 Elders !

I do not follow the greek or hebrew! I do not believe the guy who writes these books have perfect understanding ! As none lived 2000 or 4000 years ago ! We are given the Holy Ghost to teach us guide us and reveal whatever we need to know !

I see people following people or books or others as the biggest problem! We hear and follow only our Lord Jesus ! We do not belong to a religion! We give our selves to Jesus at Salvation ! We cannot belong to everyone!!

If Jesus ceased to exist for three days, starting from the day He died, how is it that He would be with that man in paradise that same day? Could it be that He, being Spirit, continued to exist, while His natural body slept?

Ever wonder why Adam was afraid to die? He had seen others die. There where others around in the time of Adam.

Gen 4:14 KJV - Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, [that] every one that findeth me shall slay me.

Jesus did not go to Hades, He went to Abraham's Bosom, where he ministered for three days. This is signified by Luk 2:46 KJV - And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

Luk_23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

If Jesus ceased to exist for three days, starting from the day He died, how is it that He would be with that man in paradise that same day? Could it be that He, being Spirit, continued to exist, while His natural body slept?
Nice catch. This only proves that the Humanity is the one that spent three days in Abraham's Bosom. The one speaking is Jehovah. He was with the Father for those three days.

Gen 22:3 KJV - And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
Gen 22:4 KJV - Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

Gen 37:32 KJV - And they sent the coat of [many] colours, and they brought [it] to their father; and said, This have we found: know now whether it [be] thy son's coat or no.

The Body of Christ.
