I put together my short maybe not complete study notes , to try to clarify more these scriptures . I think it will also clear up rapture or no rapture, where we go when we die; etc.
If you look at my notes carefully an slowly , I really hope it will shed light on how to read these scriptures. I took time to make sure that I explain my observations out in detail . I Hope it helps at least one person. It may not be complete so study your self to get a complete overall view of God's plan that Christ told us about. For sure don;t rely on my notes. Study to see the truth yourself and not what people no matter who or how many there might be of them that tell you , what the truth is. You have to study like the scriptures tell us to do. Here are my notes:

I'm going to start with Paul's teaching about the different bodies in 1 Corinthians 15 (King James Version) verses 35 to 55.

I might not write out every scripture to save space, so your going to have to open up your Bible and look at the notes I typed out . I used the KJV , I have no clue how the English was rendered in other versions.. But I think it should be fine to use any version with these scriptures . I also think you should re-read the scripture a few times after you have read my note on it following the verse.

Also 2 Corinthians 5 : 1 to 10 ( K J V)

Here also he talks about it in detail :

1 Thessalonians 4: (King James Version)

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

Paul said don't be ignorant about them which are asleep, asleep means dead, sorrow not; that you don't feel bad about it like the heathen , because they are the ones with no hope. He says don't be sorrowful like the heathen.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

If you being a Christian believe that Jesus died and rose again, even Christians that died will God bring with Him at Christ at His return.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

He saying That The Word of the Lord says, that we which are alive and remain , when Christ comes, shall not prevent or" precede", them which are asleep/dead. Because we already read in verse 14 , they are already with Him . So we will not recede them that are already there before us.

Here is the Greek word for Prevent that the translators translated from the Greek :::

"fqanw"
""""phthano""""
fthan'-o

apparently a primary verb; to be beforehand, i.e. anticipate orprecede; by extension, to have arrived at:--(already) attain, come, prevent.

(so we can see this instance were the English failed us here; It is not the word that means prevent in the English but the truth is it is Precede , and with study we just found the truth about that one little word.)....

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

For Christ Himself shall descend from heaven, : That Trump of God that Christ returns in ; is the 7th the event after, the sixth trump , as The Revelation of Christ says.

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Paul taught about the " we which are alive an remain at Christ return in 1 Corinthians 15: 51 - 53 . It follows the subject Paul is teaching in the passed verses here, about where are those that are asleep/dead.

Here is where he addressed this caught up together in clouds in air' in 1 Cor 15:, the same event in 1st Thess.4: 17 at the trump Christ returns in :

1 Corinthians 15:

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

Like he says in 1st thess 4:17 we are not all going to sleep/die, but we shall all, be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

In a moment at the last trump; same trump he just stated Christ returning in ( 1 thess. 4: 16-17 )...

Here in 1st Cor 15: 52 " and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. He already set the subject for this happening to people that have not passed on yet that are alive and remain here in the flesh body at Christ return. in 1st thess 4:.
But Before Christ returns The abomination of desolation will be standing in Jerusalem claiming to be God as Paul teaches in 2nd Thess 2:, he continues to say
how Christ is returning after the is a great falling away because of the desolator/antichrist.

Taking that teaching into mind; The dead here mentioned in verse 52 is taking about them that are dead in a deceived state of mind, they are raised at Christ return incorruptible as Paul stated in 1 Cor 15 that incorruptible means the change from a flesh body ,because that has been the subject throughout , into a spiritual body at Christ return because flesh and blood cannot be in God's presence .

He continues that thought here :

1st Cor 15 : 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Like he just stated, the dead/deceived at Christ return put on incorruptible bodies. Now Paul mentions Mortal; is a different subject, mortal is talking about the soul; must put on immortality, you do that through the True Christ, there is no other way.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

There is no victory in the grave. Because as its written

Matthew 22:

32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

A note more detailed note about 1 Thess 4: 17 about the word air, and the word clouds. I think most everyone knows that this verse was translated from the Greek into English. And we shouldn't have a "English only " attitude when it comes to God's Word if, we want to get the deeper meaning . And we know its written study to shew theyself approved . Looking into the Greek to make sure we have things right is part of studying God's word its a fact that can't be overlooked or we cant be lazy about it. We have to try.

When reading we follow the subject to set what something is about. The subject was set by Paul in 1 thess 4: 13 about where are the dead , the change in bodies at Christ return. When you get to verse 17 that is still the subject. When we see the word air and clouds., its still the same subject .

Then what dose air mean here. Since it stated that all those that are here on earth at Christ return change into incorruptible bodies, good or bad; if nothing more then to stand to be Judged it says that in ( 2 Corinthians 5:10 ). Air in Greek means breath of life. God is the one who breaths life into us. And causes us to live or take that breath away. So I see the air, also following the subject of the change in bodies as a divine act that God will perform , His breath of life causes this change in bodies. Look up the word air in the Greek.

Read what God said about His breath in Ezekiel 37 , When he was talking about How Israel is dead spiritually meaning they don't have truth they are deceived, but when God in verse 5 says that His breath enters into them and they live they start to come together. His truth also verses 10 and so on gives a good idea.

Then what of the word "Clouds" Well in the Greek, it means just that cloud. Another thing to know about the Bible is that figures of speech are used in some places. Paul used figures of speech. He spokes this way at times to different people to communicate with them.

Here is the same word in Greek used in 1 thess 4:13 used again in

Hebrews chapter 12:
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a "cloud of witnesses," let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Here you can see the word cloud is used as a great gathering of Christian witnesses . A grate cloud of Christian witnesses . Have you ever heard that used today ? Example : There was a great cloud of locust that swarmed the stadium. etc.

We Know Christ is returning with a cloud of Christian witnesses because of what we Just read, Those Christians that have died He will being with Him in 1s Thess 4: and there will be a Great Cloud of of them. He is Returning here with His armies as stated in Revelation 19 . And I'll end with that quote.

Revelation 19

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

To read what has to happen before The true Christ return continue reading 2nd Thess chapter 2 , Mark 13, Rev 13 etc..

here is the strongs concordance so you can check me out on the translations of air :

Index - King James Bible with Strongs Dictionary - SpeedBible by johnhurt.com

I tried my best with what I know at this moment. So study to make sure and don't take my word for it or anyone ells without studying yourself.

A lot of what you said is very good but the deceived will not be with the messiah.
The dead in Messiah are the ones who died or fell asleep knowing him and wait for the promise of the resurrection
Just like now you are alive in him when you die you will be asleep in him.
Those who do not know him are not in him

hi nathan.

air is exactly what is says....air.

aér: air
Original Word: ἀήρ, ἀέρος, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: aér
Phonetic Spelling: (ah-ayr')
Short Definition: air
Definition: air, the lower air we breathe.

Word Origin
from aémi (to breathe, blow)
Definition
air
NASB Translation
air (7).

STRONGS NT 109: ἀήρ

ἀήρ, ἀέρος, ὁ (ἄημι, ἄω (cf. ἄνεμος, at the beginning)), the air (particularly the lower and denser, as distinguished from the higher and rarer ὁ αἰθήρ, cf. Homer, Iliad 14, 288), the atmospheric region: Acts 22:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:17; Revelation 9:2; Revelation 16:17; ὁ ἄρχων τῆς ἐξουσίας τοῦ ἀέρος in Ephesians 2:2 signifies 'the ruler of the powers (spirits, see ἐξουσία 4 c. ββ.) in the air,' i. e. the devil, the prince of the demons that according to Jewish opinion fill the realm of air (cf. Meyer at the passage; (B. D. American edition under the word ; Stuart in Bib. Sacr. for 1843, p. 139f)). Sometimes indeed, ἀήρ denotes a hazy, obscure atmosphere (Homer, Iliad 17, 644; 3, 381; 5, 356, etc.; Polybius 18, 3, 7), but is nowhere quite equiv, to σκότος — the sense which many injudiciously assign it in Ephesians, the passage cited ἀέρα δέρειν, (cf.verberat ictibus auras, Vergil Aen. 5, 377, of pugilists who miss their aim) i. e. to contend in vain, 1 Corinthians 9:26; εἰς ἀέρα λαλεῖν (verba ventis profundere, Lucr. 4, 929 (932)) 'to speak into the air' i. e. without effect, used of those who speak what is not understood by the hearers, 1 Corinthians 14:9.

air.

From aemi (to breathe unconsciously, i.e. Respire; by analogy, to blow); "air" (as naturally circumambient) -- air. Compare psucho.

Ezekiel 37
The Valley of Dry Bones

1The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley;a it was full of bones. 2And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. 3And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.” 4Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breathb to enter you, and you shall live. 6And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.”

7So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling,c and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. 9Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” 10So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’ 12Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.”

^ this is about what would come to pass at Pentecost.
and it did.

While we may not agree on every point, the comments are welcome. At least they give me a idea where these notes may need improvement .

Hos 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
Hos 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Hos 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

It has been over 2 days since The Lord was crucified and Resurrected. This is The Third Day.
