Also, interestingly, all this passage says about the Sabbath is that we aren't supposed to work. The word Sabbath means "to cease"...to cease laboring, as God did on the 7th day. So, as to my post above, I guess I could have better stated that Saturday is the Sabbath, but Sunday is the Lord's Day. Sunday, as the Lord's Day, is more important than our time to rest and is more appropriate for the worship of the Lord who rose on that day.
Greetings,

In all four gospels we see a chapter devoted to the work that Jesus did on the Sabbath day, but Jesus declares Himself "Lord of the Sabbath" and "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work"...

That is very clear Jesus Christ worked on the Sabbath, the Jews persecuted the Lord for this and sought His death for breaking the Sabbath, But Jesus worked in the fields, healed, etc, on the Sabbath day. So what is the answer here? Is Saturday the Sabbath? the Jews say yes, Saturday is the Sabbath, but Jesus says no; "My Father works, and I work" - on the Sabbath Day, "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath". OK so Hebrews 4:9-10 gives us conclusion to know that

"Therefore remaineth a rest to the people of God (Christians). For he that entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his works, as God did from His."

Notice there is now no mention of Sabbath or day, it's rest but no indication as to which day, it's not a calander day of rest, it's every day now for the Christian has ceased from all old works and has already entered into the Lord's rest. And then; Romans 14:5-6 and then Acts 20:7 explains coming together for the breaking of the bread, preaching, fellowship, and it's the first day - Sunday. But as it is also written it does not neccessarily have to be Sunday, but to follow the lead of the Apostles would be prudent, but whether a work day or a rest day or a holy day, it is now counted by God that that is everyday.

Every day is a good day,
Your heavenly Father would like to hear from you daily.
Is there a day of the week that He forgets you?
No.
So praise and give thanks daily.

Jesus works on the Sabbath like His Father, the 7th day was an eternal day. Working 6 days does not improve our sinful condition neither does resting 1 day - "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath: therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath."

No day is more special than any other.

quote the scripture where it says the seventh day is a eternal day and ill accept it ,no questions asked. Also where it says the first day of the week is the lords day and ill fall in with that too. Ok how bout where it says we must keep the first day because God started creating, or keep the first day because Jesus rose on the first day. We cant make it up as we go along. God is in charge He is the King of kings we must be obediant or not. If your belief is not biblical then you must change ,not God.
p.s. Im not the sharpest knife in the drawer or one with a good imagination, so the scripture must be clear.

quote the scripture where it says the seventh day is a eternal day and ill accept it ,no questions asked.
Genesis 2:1-3

"Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: becuase that in it He had rested from all His work which God had created."

See how God rested, He was done with His work, ceased, are you saying that God did not get it right and had to keep on working? No God's creation was perfect 'very good', but becuase of man's sin he was cast out and no longer able to enter into the eternal rest day and he and his wife were given there punishment and part of that punishment was '6 days shalt thy labour' etc, basically we had to keep working to produce our own food and at the end we died, we as humans lost an great deal in the fal, we lost eternity and we had to work for our sustainence, because the land was cursed as well and did not yeild as it had before, it had to be cultivated and farmed.

Hebrews 4:3-5

"For we which believe have entered into rest as He said, "As I have sworn in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest:" although the works finished from the foundation of the world. For He spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise "And God did rest on the seventh day; from all His works."

Hebrews 4:9-11

"There remaineth a rest day to the people of God. For he that entered into his rest, he also ceased from his own works as God did from His. Let us labour therefore to enter that rest lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief."

Also where it says the first day of the week is the lords day and ill fall in with that too.
Jesus rose on Sunday, a Christian is one who believes in the resurrection of Christ. The Lord had also made a new day; Psalm 118.

"I was the Spirit on the Lord's day" Rev. 1:10

This is a new day as God prophecised He would have a new day.

Compare John 20:11 to John 20:20.

Mat 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Based on this the Lords day is the sabbath day. John was in the Spirit on the sabbath day

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God had created

The sabbath day is an eternal reminder of Gods creation of everything. By keeping the sabbath you also acknowledge Him as the one and only living Creator.
God led by example he worked 6 days and rested on the seventh. Yes He is finished with His job of creation, and He rested on the seventh day. I believe the first 6 days to be literal 24 hour days. isnt it reasonable to accept that the 7th day was also a 24 hour day.Your scripture for me just confirms , God set the example , follow it .Dont fall into unbelief !!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FOR GOOD CHRISTIANS

The book of luke 23shows that the crucifixion of jesus was on friday, verse 54 tell us that the sabbath drew near and the women prepared for the sabbath which was on the friday evening.
Verse 56 says that they returned ,and prepared spices and ointments, and rested on the sabbath day according to the commandment.
This clearly tell us that saturday is the sabbath.

The same luke 24:1 also tell us that upon the first day of the week ,very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices and ointment which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
Even though jesus resurrected on sunday god did not say anything about that day,he did not make it holy as the sabbath.so we should not try to make laws by ourselves or believe in the words of fake prophets and pastors of this end time.
It is asid somewhere in the bible that we should not add to nor substract anything from the word of god.If you do so ,you are laying judgement upon yourself.
Jesus said that he came to fulfil the scriptures(ie the OT)so now one should say that jesus came to abolish the the commandments.
God is still the same and cannot change so his words cannot change.god is not a man and he will never lie,she came to save us from sins and not to abolish the law.
These are the blessings you will have when you keep the sabbath properly on the day it suppose to be kept.
ISAIAH 38:13-14.

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH ,YOU CAN READ ANDSWER THESE QUESTIONS BY YOURSELF FROM THE FOLLOWING BIBLE QUOTATIONS.IT WILL MAKE YOU UNDERSATAND MORE ABOUT WHAT THE WORD OF GOD IS SAYING ABOVE.
1.a promise has been left us that will come into that(eternal)rest. However,if we do not fear (have respect for and keep) the following verses, will we enter that rest? Hebrews 3:17-19.
2.what does it mean to have a gospel that is mixed with faith and that does not profit?Hebrews 4:2, Hebrews 3:17-19.
3.verse 1 speaks of the a future rest .verse 3 speaks of a present rest. Therefore ,those who believe the gospel will do what? Hebrews 4:3a
4.If it is not yet clear what the author is speaking of,what does he say? verse4.
5.what does he link this present rest to? v5.
6.when hte ceremonial laws of the old testament were abolished, were the ten commandments(including thesabbath ) abolished? v 6,9
7.can the sabbath be moved to another day ,such as sunday,or any other day that is convenient for us? v 7
8.many bible scolars interpret jesus in verse 8 as joshua of the old testament .However this name is interpreted, did jesus ,joshua ,any prophat ,or any apostle ever speak of another day? v 8
9.This rest is specifically for who? v 9.
10.when we keep this rest who do we follow? v 10
11.If we do not make an effort to keep the sabbath ,what is that called? V 11
12.what does mark 2:27 say about the sabbath?
13.On what day was man created ?GENESIS 1:26-31
14.After god finished creating the earth and all in it ,what was the next and final thing HE created? GENESIS 2:1-3
15.Besides mankind ,what other creature does Exodus 20:8-11 say the sabbath was made for ?(note do you suppose the sabbath was made for all creation?)
16.Do you think the lord jesus had right to say that He is the lord of the sabbath? JOHN1:1-5

CONCLUSION:The sabbath was made for the good of man-it should be a day of great delight to the inner spiritual man as he feasts on the things of the kingdom of god. for the kingdom of god is not meat or drink, but righteousness, peace and joy.Everybody we should rest in the peace of god ,by physically we need the weekly sabbath day rest also.
PLEASE ANSWER CAREFULLY AND REPLY MY MESSAGE.

Yes. You will notice that Jesus had something to say about each of the ten commandmends. He is our perfect example. The problem with the sabbath was not that they didnt keep it holy . The problem was that they made it a burden with rules and regulations that God didnt give. If you had a cold for example ,you had too tie the cloth you wipe your nose with to your shirt. Carrying it was considered working and thus a sin. Thats just stupid. Jesus didnt say ,dont keep the sabbath holy , He said its not a burden but a blessing. Also its ok to do good on the sabbath. Doctors may heal sick poeple on the sabbath, if your animal or child for that matter falls in a hole its reasonable to help them. The main purpose of the sabbath is to spend holy time with God and your family.Be a christiaan 24/7 ,but the 24 hours of the sabbath is holy and special for God.In todays rushed live its a wonderfull day, friday at sunset the things of this world are banned from my house. I devote my time to God and my family. Its really wonderfull and a big blessing. Its the highlight of my week. I cant imagine why a christiaan would have a problem with such a nice day.I see poeple go to church on sunday and afterwards they go shopping and generally they dont act like the day is special or holy in any way.Friends of ours will even not go to church and rather go to the shops to go and buy stuff thats on sale , but dont dare question sunday being a holy day, they get rather aggresive if you do that.Me i think its safe to follow Jesus,s example.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
