WE must respond to God's PLAN for salvation, His promise of eternal life, by bellying up to the altar of God (wherever that is, and, no, not just church, ANYWHERE, one can DRop to their knees and say, ' I don't want to live like this no more. I see you soo trying to draw me to you, Lord, and, I keep making moves away from you. Not no more, no more! I will LIVE my life for you. I ask for forgiveness of my sins, please, Lord, I love you, you are my Saviour forevermore, I know you will never leave me nor forsake me when I am with you. I am yours, NEVER going back to who I was or what I did. That is not me, and I will fail in sin, I know, I am not going to deceive myself but your grace through my faith in YOU is ENOUGH. Keep me forever in your arms, I am yours, Holy Spirit enter my body, I pray, that I can become used by Your powler in me. You are from Him and you are Him, my helper and friend, my Comforter, my peace to my soul. Amen.'

^This is right STANDING with God, this full-bodied, whole heart commitment to show God you are His is EXACTLY how I feel led to believe what I mean by righteousness leads to our choosing Christ. :)

I then believe we are imputed the righteousness of Christ AFTER we have shown God our commitment to choosimg Him, who drew us :)

Here below is from a website, hubpages.com , and, it explains this understanding of how righteousness of our own FAITH to choose Him, that is faith not of ourselves (He gave us all a 'measure of faith.'), in this GOD INCREASES our faith in Him, with accepting His Spirit, and, then following Him. The Lord leads. '...you follow Me.' We gain Christ through a faith in Him given us and that faith GIVEN us is for us to choose to be following Him, by faith, for Scripture says, 'The righteous shall live by faith (no, it's not earned, no works! But, YOU will work :) His Spirit working throigh your spirit)
..................................hubpages.com.................................
Righteousness is the platform and springboard of salvation. This means that it is our response to God’s will for us that grants us salvation from the bondage to the sins of the world and their consequences. Salvation has been freely poured out by God on the world as shown in the text above..

RIGHTEOUS RESPONSIBILITY: But it is only tho,se in the world who respond to God’s desires of righteousness for men that eventually receive the free gift of salvation (see John 1:12). Subsequently, righteousness becomes the standard and practice of the saved person (see Isaiah 44:21-22, Romans 10:8-10). This involves desiring to know and being willing to do God’s mind in all cases at all ties (see Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 1:18-19). Hence if we are in the faith, we should live by faith, because all sin begins with doing what ‘self’ wants for self. That is, what carnal mind desires for carnal man.

Righteousness is the upholding of God’s will as a principle of life. Therefore, resolving to uphold this principle releases to and on us the grace of salvation, which also encourages and enables us to master this principle of life.

BE CONSIDERATE: Do you presently live by life’s principle? You ask, “what is life’s principle?” It is living according to your creator’s mind. You come to know this if you seek all that is pure and noble for man on earth. And if you seek, the gracious God who has already released this freely to the world would gladly lead you to it, because this is His greatest desire: that you may have life and have it abundantly. Abundant life is yours if only you will ask for it from its Giver this very moment. It is the best and simplest thing to do in all the world, and you certainly will be glad you did.

DO IT NOW!

Righteousness= right standing with God .

Before our salvation, we are needing something to SHOW Christ that we are worthy of His having DRAWN us to Him. Fauth in His leading , which leads to 'righteousness which leads to our salvation.

What is an example of faith? How about Paul, where he was given a 'thorn in his flesh,' and, Paul did not go gently with that pain, Paul asked God to have 'it' depart from him.

Christ replied to Paul: 'My grace is sufficient for you.... '

Then, Paul displayed faith again, ' Therefore most gladly I will brother boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me therefore I take pleasure in infirmities , in reproaches , in needs , in persecutions , in distresses , for Christ's sake. For when I am weak then I am strong .'

THIS, 1 Corinthians 12 passage, is a fantastic proof of faith in Him by a man :)

Righteousness is, first, SHOWN to Him, we THROW ourselves to God , for mercy, grace, and, He is love, and, this righteous, enduring act is endearingly seen by God, quite a SIMPLE act to, done hy His power, His faith, our trust and realizarion God is the ONLY way we are going to go,

Then, after salvation, after receiving Christ in us who is giving us His Helper, a Comforter, in our faith, gives us Salvation.

Its not rocket science, it's just following Him, His truth, and, His Spirit leading us all, to RIGHT relationshop with Him, that leads to sanctification achieved with His Spirit in our temple received. :)

THEN, we are to be ye perfect as He is perfect, and, we will be attaining that perfection in our life, as He will complete that work in us that He began UNTIL Jesus comes again. This speaks of both the individual work and the work of who He is coming BACK for, His h
bride, the church. :)

there is a major error here. We will never be worthy, up to the day we die, enough to have God draw us to him. We will always as long as we are on earth deserve eternal condemnation. If one thinks they can be worthy of anything. they have not repented and given it all to God. they are still looking at self and not God.

How do you convince someone to let go of their own stupidity?

I don't think a man can convince another man of this. We have too much pride and stubbornness... But the fact is that our carnal mind is the impediment to our life in Christ. Our philosophies and work we think we must do may have gotten us to a certain point but did they CAUSE God to act??

No, of course not. The Lord leads and we follow. That is what we have faith in.

Why do we hunger and thirst for righteousness? Precisely because the Lord has given us this gift. Why do we have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? Precisely because the Lord has given us this gift.

How do we get these gifts???

Matthew 7:7-11
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
[SUP]11 [/SUP]If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Through prayer and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ...

PG don't make it more complicated than it is Gramps K are you listening to right standing with God comes when we set him into our heart it's that simple that's the right justness
, God sees this, we accept Christ crucified then, and, salvation is what He gives us by grace :) Then, we have His righteousness and are to, through faith LIVE our life by way of understanding what He did for us. Simple to do, to have faith in His leading because the Lord will be faithful, He has no bone of unfaihfulness in Him, we though need to be faith-full so that He can work in our life, not to mention, increase our faith. :)

No. Right standing with God comes when GOD sets himself up in our soul and seals us with his spirit. we can not do anything to make ourselves right with God, if we could Christ came in vein.

What God sees in us is filthy rags. we can't do anything, god has to change us from the inside out as we learn to trust him. but we will never be worthy of his love or grace, that is why he must sustain us with grace, for we are but filthy rags ourselves.

Eg, why do you say we must 'obey' for salvation. No, no, no, bro, we MUST believe, and, you and grampsK BOTH like to complicate the simplicity of salvation. It's sooo simple! :)

Whosoever OBEYS gets eternal life?
Noooo.

Wjhosoever BELIEVES IN HIM shall have eternal life, and, not perish. :)

So, simple, you got that right though grampsK, good for you, you are understanding what is the MANTRA I been preaching exhaustively since joining the bible discussion forum 1.5 years ago. The Lord leads. Yes! Follow Him. Everything else follows, second, to our PRIMARY desire to love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind, soul. :)

Re: Righteousness choice, by grace, through faith, springBOARDS TO SALVATION CHOICE :

it's just beyond me why you are obsessed with undoing what this says:

Ephesians 2
By Grace Through Faith

1And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the bodya and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4Butb God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

dead.
we were dead in trespasses.
and sins.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

green, show me how you've gotten around this.

green.
you did not have a primary desire to love the Lord Thy God with all your heart mind and soul before you were saved.
okay?

how can you post the above, so soon after posting the following?
do you not see you're running in circles with this thing trying to find a way to take some credit for something?
like.....why?
why do you want credit for anything?

Ok. lets look at what you said.

Whoever believes in him shall have eternal life, and, not perish

So, if this is true. then why all the talk about someone being able to lose salvation? Does eternal not mean eternal. Does not (never) not mean never??

Ohzone!
:)

You don't get what I'm saying. And, that is AOK, the Lord leads.

Speaking of such, the Lord DRAWS us to Him, but we have been given a brain and we must REPENT, to be saved freely by God's grace of His Son dying having, therefore, taken away ALL sins, saving one from certain death to life after we die and gain Christ. :)

What part of 'faith in Him' do you not understand?

By grace, YOU are saved, but it comes with a price, REALIZING that you are SAVED by His measure of faith given you. :) NOT of yourself. But, your FAITH is, still, YOUR faith.

James 1:2 -- "Consider it all joy when YOU face trials of various kinds, for the testing of YOUR FAITH produces perseverence..."

Your faith. Yes, God gave it to you, YOUR FAITH.

I'M probably NOT the best person to argue this with, ohzone, my spiritual gifts test I took a few months ago had about 30 'gifts' listed, with guess what the highest score?

Faith! The Lord leads. Why complicate His simple grace, milady, just 'follow Me.' John 21:22 . :)

-----&-----
Yes, why think different. Those who believe IN Him will FAITH-FULLY lead the peace of salvation to those who are staying DRAWN NIGH TO Him "Draw nigh to Me and I will drive to you ." Our salvation is based on our coming to Him, 'just as I am , without one plea but that my Saviour died for me....I come. I come. "

Those who are just, and, this means 'justified,' by THEIR (believer's) action to follow His draWing them to him for their salvation, which 'faith' , like Abraham, was said of, OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, which, simply is following His lead , as best we can which is pefect in His eyes. :)
