A lot of people ask this. Are we still under the Ten Commandments ? Think of it this way. One of the commandments God said is : Do Not steal

If you want to see if we are still "under" that commandment, here is a simple test. Go to your favorite store, and steal something. And see what happens .I would not try it. I assure you nothing good will result from that. So that law is still very much in effect. And if you did , I would repent for doing it. Because its a sin.

Here is one simple scripture to consider also :

1 Timothy 1:

9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

If you are not doing anything wrong, then there would be no need for you to worry about the Law. The Law keeps a bad man out of trouble ideally. And good men keep the law.

Christ fulfilled the Law. He did not destroy or do away with it.

What did He did do away with? Ritual blood ordinances that was prescribed by the law to forgive sin was abolished . So Christ did away with that on the cross. The book of Hebrews ,should clear that it was the sacrifices that was law then, was done away with but no mention of the Ten Commandments , or things of that nature being done away with.

But the Law remains. The Law is not bad. It is man that brakes that law that is bad. God's Law is good. Try to keep things in perspective . Listen to Christ teachings :

Matthew 5:18

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
jot or tittle, that means not even the punctuation is changed about the law, not the sound even of one letter.

I follow all the Ten Commandants. Everyone that brakes those laws can end up going to a bad place.

As far as some of the feast days. I think some of them were supposed to be observed in one form or another, but I never studied those.

Christ became or Passover in one scripture. So Passover should be observed, instead of Easter.

All are part of the Mosaic law, which has been set aside (Heb 7:18-19), and is not the means of righteousness or justification for reconciliation with God and remittance of his wrath on our sin.

However, the law of Christ is the law of love which fulfills (performs) the Ten Commandments (Ro 13: 8, 9, 10) because they are written on the heart and are the believer's motivation.

But God's wrath/judgment on our sin at the final judgment is remitted only by faith in Jesus Christ (Eph 2:8-9), not by law keeping.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Here is the thing brothers. There is a great difference between Greek and Biblical Hebrew. Greek is very abstract and Hebrew is very concrete. When we read the new Testament we need to understand who and what type of people were being addressed in all the letters. They have found out that the language that was used 2000 years ago was in fact Hebrew. This might sound strange to some I know I found it hard to believe myself. I was taught that the language had died out because of Alexander the great. I was taught wrong. You may ask yourself what would that matter? This is the difference between western Greek theology and Hebrew concrete understanding God gives us a picture of what He is teaching us. Take the word shalome to most of the readers of this site it is the Hebrew word for peace. Can it mean peace yes but it means so much more here is the picture. The letter shin is a picture of teeth the letter lamed is a picture of a staff the letter vav is a picture of a nail and mem is a picture of water meaning water of chaos. put these together we have peace pictured as consume the authority attached to chaos. Look up pictograph Hebrew and you will better understand what Paul is really saying in Eph. 2;8-9. The word grace and faith have a much more detailed meaning than just believing in something. If I believe or do not believe that Yeshuah is the Messiah does that change the fact that He is the Messiah. The only person that my belief matters to is me. Only if I obey Yeshuah the word of God that is what makes the difference. Blessings

NO
. If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

1964 The Old Law is a preparation for the Gospel. “The Law is a pedagogy and a prophecy of things to come.” It prophesies and presages the work of liberation from sin which will be fulfilled in Christ: it provides the New Testament with images, “types,” and symbols for expressing the life according to the Spirit. Finally, the Law is completed by the teaching of the sapiential books and the prophets which set its course toward the New Covenant and the Kingdom of heaven.

This is closer to what we 'are under'.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Look Paul/Shaul was taught in both worlds Greek/Hebrew. Do you think his knowledge of Greek thought coupled with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit was insufficient to communicate God's truth to us poor Gentiles deprived of the Hebrew language?
I was enmeshed with the Messianic movement for awhile. Be careful it is riddled with legalistic potholes.

Rather his standard of holiness...our faith in Messiah doesn't force us to life holy....that's our choice...and the law shows us his standard of living...

Romans 3
19
Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;
20
because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.

21 But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
22
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction

Do we establish the Law of God? Yes!
Can the performance of it bring the righteousness of GOD?
No!

Romans 6
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!

Romans 7

1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law has jurisdiction over a person as long as he lives?
2
For the married woman is bound by law to her husband while he is living; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law concerning the husband.
3
So then, if while her husband is living she is joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is not an adulteress though she is joined to another man.
4
Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.
5
For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were aroused by the Law, were at work in the members of our body to bear fruit for death.
6
But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.
