I've been reading through both 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians, and Paul deals with some very BIG doctrinal errors the Corinthian church had been dealing with, such as:
Incest/ church discipline/ restoring a fallen brother/ mishandling of spiritual gifts/ taking the Lords Supper in a degrading manner and so on. (please read both 1 Cor and 2 Cor)
Paul even had to fend off many personal attacks that dealt with his apostleship, motives and integrity from within the church he personally had established.
I can honestly say throughout these letters, Paul may have displayed some minor sarcasm and some pointed thought provoking discussions, but you never question Paul's love, motivation and connection he had with this church.
The cry for truth to be heard, spread and defended is a noble call all believers are commissioned for. But please, do not compromise the truths and moral commands of the scriptures, (speak the truth in love, let your speech be seasoned with salt, let NO corrupt word proceed form your mouth), to try and make your case. It is never received well and comes across as just arrogant and hypocritical.
The scriptures are our authority, so after presenting the truth, let the scriptures convict, change hearts and sanctify at it's own timing. It can really accomplish all this without the personal attacks and prideful animosity that will never accomplish what you are setting out to do.
