Exclamation What does the Bible say about....

Allowing a child molester or pimp teach teenagers in a Sunday school class?

Personally I don't think its unforgiving or unchristian to deny someone with that past to be placed in a position of power over children or temptation for themselves.

    what are your thoughts?

what does the Bible say about it?
No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."

If the person has repented and is teaching about their experience in order to inform them of the dangers then I'd say it's ok. But ONLY if they are truly repented and following God.

Personally, I would be incredibly uncomfortable with letting them have anything to do with young people. If they're truly repent, I would still be very careful. Another adult or two should accompany them in everything they do with children, teenagers.

If this is a known predator, been tried, convicted and served their time, I am almost positive under the law that they are never allowed to go near children.
Scripturally; God has put the laws in place for our good and we are commanded to obey or we would be rebelling against God.

I would research this person before I would let them near children.
It does not mean they are not forgiven, but some past sins do give thorns in one's side for their own good.

    Romans 13:
1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.

God has put laws in place to protect us.

    God Bless,
    Mercy

I personally do not think they should allow someone who murdered people because of their faith to preach. But, then again, I am not Jesus.
If your life is spent in a constant struggle to avoid sinning, then your life is void of praising God for that deliverance you already have.

sure it does, Tintin. It all broils down to forgiveness, just as we have been forgiven.

Forgiveness is one thing but diligence is also important. Just because a child abuser is repentant, doesn't mean you should have no issue letting loose your kids, teens around him/her.

I am sure that murderer repented and Jesus forgave him, even so much that He permitted him to preach the Gospel to billions of souls to their salvation. If Jesus can forgive one who murdered others because of what they believed, surely we can forgive a repented brother also. Forgive so that you can be forgiven. Forgive not and you shall not be forgiven by the Father.

If this was your child would you feel safe for someone with this background to hang out with your kid? Not I. By the way I volunteer for Destiny Rescue which has as it's mission to free 100,000 children from sexual slavery. In order to volunteer and become affiliated you must pass an FBI background test with fingerprints. Do you think this should be a requirement? I do.

Cfultz3, I'm not saying to deny him/her forgiveness, I'm saying that you need to be very careful about having your kids around him/her and that you shouldn't trust them to be alone with young people.

But what if he repented and he walks with God? Shall his past sins not be forgiven? Does God hold to memory his past?

Yes, yes, yes! He should be forgiven if he's repentant. That's not the bleedin' issue here. It's whether it's a good idea to let him/her still be in the presence of your kids/teenagers. A repentant man/woman can still fall to temptation. Don't tempt Fate. How can you honestly not understand this?!

I do understand. I am just glad Jesus forgave Paul of his murders and trusted him with the Gospel towards us Gentiles.

    Listen all:

If a murderer repented and followed Christ and started to go to Church, but was told that he cannot be trusted around people and was told that he had to go outside in the parking lot next to a speaker to hear the people inside giving thanks to God for His mercy He showed them and then heard them say, "Make that murderer outside go away, he cannot be trusted around us", what would that show, if not a double standard of forgiveness?

If he were permitted inside the Church, would it be okay to have two armed guides following him around while He was with his brothers and sisters in Christ?

No. But we must still be vigilant. There are consequences for sin. God gave us brains, please let us use them!

When one goes to Church, should they fear that ex-thief sitting next to them? Should we maintain that fear towards that ex-adulterer? Fear in the Church!!!! Nay!!!!!!

I think most churches require people in authority over children to get criminal record checks done. At least, they should. Doesn't God's word say that the law was to protect people and punish the guilty? I would not be okay with a convicted child molester teaching my children in an unsupervised area. Ever. Why? Because we can never know the true condition of another person's heart. That's what I think.

Cfultz3, are you being willfully ignorant? Sexual sin, especially in regards to minors, is very different to the sin of stealing etc. Both are sins but sexual sin is the most damaging (the Bible says this). We're to protect the young and weak. Your comparisons are ludicrous.

Paul was a murderer, and Christ himself came to Paul and called Paul to ministry. Paul was a persecuter of Christians! yet paul preached. Many in the bible committed sins and God used them. Moses murdered and God used him too, to lead and set the isrealites free and look where we all are now due to it. We need to rid ourselves from all pride and arrogance as it damages the truth and our walk with the Lord... Humbling ourselves is the only way!!
That is why Paul said oh what a wretched man am i! Who will save me .. God Will!! He knew His past and He also said he was the worst of them all meaning sinners... yet Jesus chose Him right there on the road to Damascas to change His life and used forgiveness towards him with mercy, grace and love. But most of all, respect in love...

God used paul and trusted him to minister his word and Paul did a good job too... Where would we be without Paul? For much of the New Testament is written by him... All i can say is if God trusted someone who sinned so much to use him to help others to find the Lord, then praise God for that means thier is hope for people like you and me... Amen... If not. Then Jesus lied when he said what He does for one, He'll do for all for He doesnt play favorites...

Just a note.. almost every person God used in the bible greatly sinned.. and God on purposely used them anyway! Just to prove that its not them doing it, its HIM!
James 2: 9-11 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11 For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,”[b] also said, “You shall not murder.”[c] If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

So all sins are equal in Gods eyes and should be dealt with accordingly... Brings a new prespective to it when you start to think about what we each have done huh? For then we are all in the same boat as each other.. WE ARE ALL SINNERS SAVED BY GRACE! We cant get to heaven not even if we have 1 sin in us for we are imperfect!! Jesus is our only answer! This is why grace is so important!
