I realize that they (adam and eve) had sons AND daughters. i just find it peculiar that their very first born daughter wasnt named.....buyt yes, it kinda shocked me about Lot's daughters too
You are normal for one who is new to the Bible. Abraham also married his half sister Sarah. Abraham and Sarah both had the same father, Tarah.

Your impressions are based upon today's norms. The most difficult thing for us to learn as a Christian is that nothing is wrong until God says it is wrong. He is the judge and not we ourselves. He is the one that eventually forbade marriage of sisters and brothers but he did so primarily because as time passed men fell deeper and deeper into the consequences of sin having severed their connection to life. (And because men grew more and more wicked and without self-control.) Thus man's age drastically began to decrease and birth defects were made more likely by marriage too close together. But also because this would put man with his ever growing lusts on notice that he needed to get control on those lusts.

Maggie, there's nothing wrong with being curious. It's good to study the Word. The problem only arises when the little details become the focus.
It is amazing how much our culture, what we study, what our personality is affects how we see different facts.

If we looked at the facts of what God tells us from the mindset of the ancient Hebrews, asking to know the name of Adam and Eve's first daughter would not be worth even wondering about. They wondered only how they fit in with the facts, what were they to do about the knowledge. Notice, God isn't clear about just how and when he created the earth, and no one cared beyond that God created it until thousands of years later.

Christ seemed to uphold this way of thinking. He said that we need to become as little children. Can you see a little child analyzing all a parent tells them?

thank you. thats what i'm saying Ariel82. i have been eager to learn more and more lately for some reason and i have been taking in alot by getting on the internet and just taking in what i can and looking up so many things. if i would've had the internet when i was younger, i'd be dangerous right now....lol.....i'm talking about the knowledge that i could've obtained.
It's good to be eager to learn.
It's a good thing when we're hungry and thirsty for the word.

It's a sign our heart is right with God.

When we don't want to hear from God... that usually means we're not well.
