The answer to that question varies according to who you ask. If you are asking me, the a predate Adam and are during a time known by some as the "The Gap Theory". See video below for more on that.

I don't believe in the Gap Theory. I believe God created dinosaurs, along with all of the other land animals of day 6 of creation. They're mentioned in Isaiah and Job, perhaps some other books too.

but seriously, i've always wondered about that. i've had a theory about that, sort of. i mean it doesnt actualy make mention of them in the bible, but they're something that obviously existed without as doubt due to the fossils and such, but i figured that God knew in the future that we would need their fossil fuels for our use in these days.......anyway, just a thought.

Im pretty sure there is too much proof theyve existed to say otherwise. So there is that, and then if you believe science then there are no issues with OEC or gap theory

We should measure Truth by God's Word, not by human reason. If they don't add up, take God's Word as Truth. Human reason is a beautiful thing but it can only take you so far. Faith is the next step.

Job 7:12 Am I a sea, or a sea serpent, That You set a guard over me?

Job 26:13 By His Spirit He adorned the heavens; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.

Psalm 74:13 You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea serpents in the waters.

  • Isaiah 14:29 “Do not rejoice, all you of Philistia, Because the rod that struck you is broken; For out of the serpent’s roots will come forth a viper, And its offspring will be a fiery flying serpent.
  • Isaiah 27:1 In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in the sea.

Revelation 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Hello, and welcome to CC. I will be your resident Tommy.
Naturally Job references the mythology of his time but God seems to be talking about the creatures as if they're also real. It wouldn't be the first time the Bible has used both mythological and real-life references to make a point.

Job 40:

[SUP]15 [/SUP]“Look at Behemoth,
which I made just as I made you;
it eats grass like an ox.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Its strength is in its loins,
and its power in the muscles of its belly.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]It makes its tail stiff like a cedar;
the sinews of its thighs are knit together.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Its bones are tubes of bronze,
its limbs like bars of iron.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]“It is the first of the great acts of God—
only its Maker can approach it with the sword.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]For the mountains yield food for it
where all the wild animals play.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Under the lotus plants it lies,
in the covert of the reeds and in the marsh.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]The lotus trees cover it for shade;
the willows of the wadi surround it.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Even if the river is turbulent, it is not frightened;
it is confident though Jordan rushes against its mouth.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Can one take it with hooks[SUP][c][/SUP]
or pierce its nose with a snare?

Job 40:

“Can you draw out Leviathan[SUP][b][/SUP] with a fishhook,
or press down its tongue with a cord?
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Can you put a rope in its nose,
or pierce its jaw with a hook?
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Will it make many supplications to you?
Will it speak soft words to you?
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Will it make a covenant with you
to be taken as your servant forever?
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Will you play with it as with a bird,
or will you put it on leash for your girls?
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Will traders bargain over it?
Will they divide it up among the merchants?
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Can you fill its skin with harpoons,
or its head with fishing spears?
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Lay hands on it;
think of the battle; you will not do it again!
[SUP]9 [/SUP][SUP][c][/SUP] Any hope of capturing it[SUP][d][/SUP] will be disappointed;
were not even the gods[SUP][e][/SUP] overwhelmed at the sight of it?
[SUP]10 [/SUP]No one is so fierce as to dare to stir it up.
Who can stand before it?[SUP][f][/SUP]
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Who can confront it[SUP][g][/SUP] and be safe?[SUP][h][/SUP]
—under the whole heaven, who?[SUP][i][/SUP]

[SUP]12 [/SUP]“I will not keep silence concerning its limbs,
or its mighty strength, or its splendid frame.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Who can strip off its outer garment?
Who can penetrate its double coat of mail?[SUP][j][/SUP]
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Who can open the doors of its face?
There is terror all around its teeth.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Its back[SUP][k][/SUP] is made of shields in rows,
shut up closely as with a seal.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]One is so near to another
that no air can come between them.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]They are joined one to another;
they clasp each other and cannot be separated.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Its sneezes flash forth light,
and its eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]From its mouth go flaming torches;
sparks of fire leap out.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Out of its nostrils comes smoke,
as from a boiling pot and burning rushes.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Its breath kindles coals,
and a flame comes out of its mouth.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]In its neck abides strength,
and terror dances before it.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]The folds of its flesh cling together;
it is firmly cast and immovable.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Its heart is as hard as stone,
as hard as the lower millstone.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]When it raises itself up the gods are afraid;
at the crashing they are beside themselves.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]Though the sword reaches it, it does not avail,
nor does the spear, the dart, or the javelin.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]It counts iron as straw,
and bronze as rotten wood.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]The arrow cannot make it flee;
slingstones, for it, are turned to chaff.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Clubs are counted as chaff;
it laughs at the rattle of javelins.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]Its underparts are like sharp potsherds;
it spreads itself like a threshing sledge on the mire.
[SUP]31 [/SUP]It makes the deep boil like a pot;
it makes the sea like a pot of ointment.
[SUP]32 [/SUP]It leaves a shining wake behind it;
one would think the deep to be white-haired.
[SUP]33 [/SUP]On earth it has no equal,
a creature without fear.
[SUP]34 [/SUP]It surveys everything that is lofty;
it is king over all that are proud.”

No one knows what a leviathan or a behemoth is and it is a leap to say they are dinosaurs. Dinosaurs lived 230 million years before Adam and Eve.

Honestly, I have no idea exactly how God created the Heavens and the Earth. I just know He did. Beyound that I believe the Gap Theory fits the evidence best. When I say "believe" I am saying this is what I think happened.

The Gap Theory is just that, a theory and it's built on speculation. There is little, if anything, to support such a belief. Trying to reconcile evolution with God's Word just doesn't work.

I speculate that God created dinosaurs along with every other animals and they were all originally herbivores living in peace in the Garden of Eden. However the fall led to death, disharmony, and wickedness on earth, both man and beast were corrupt thus some dinosaurs probably became carnivores and so ferocious that they couldn't live alongside humans anymore and their ecological niche changed.

The end.;)

1 Samuel 17:4A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. He was over nine feet tall.
1 Chronicles 20:4-8
And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.

GOLIATHgo-li'-ath (golyath; Goliath):

(1) The giant of Gath, and champion of the Philistine army (1 Samuel 17:4-23; 1 Samuel 21:9; 1 Samuel 22:10 2 Samuel 21:19 1 Chronicles 20:5). He defied the armies of Israel, challenging anyone to meet him in single combat while the two armies faced each other at Ephesdammim. He was slain by the youthful David. Goliath was almost certainly not of Philistine blood, but belonged to one of the races of giants, or aboriginal tribes, such as the Anakim, Avvim, Rephaim, etc. The Avvim had lived at Philistia, and most probably the giant was of that race. His size was most extraordinary. If a cubit was about 21 inches, he was over 11 feet in height; if about 18 inches, he was over 9 feet in height. The enormous weight of his armor would seem to require the larger cubit. This height probably included his full length in armor, helmet and all. In either case he is the largest man known to history. His sword was wielded by David to slay him and afterward carried about in his wanderings, so it could not have been excessively heavy. The story of his encounter with David is graphic, and the boasts of the two champions were perfectly in keeping with single combats in the Orient.

(2) The Goliath of 2 Samuel 21:19 is another person, and quite probably a son of the first Goliath. He was slain by Elhanan, one of David's mighty men. The person mentioned in 1 Chronicles 20:5 is called Lachmi, but this is almost certainly due to a corruption of the text. "The brother of Goliath" is the younger Goliath and probably a son of the greater Goliath, who had four sons, giants, one of them having 24 fingers and toes.

If there were men that were giants, then it would be probable that some animals were also giants.
Wondering if the serpent ( which the Lord said was the craftiest animal) was just a small snake. I do not have proof ( I will not go near a snake) but have heard that if one looks at the under belly of a snake, there are scars where the legs used to be.

Knowing that an animal spoke to a human does tell us alittle bit about things that are not of our understanding and also the Lord speaks of animals having to give account as well as humans.

Genesis 9:5
And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.

So there is a language between God and animal, everything that has the breath of life.

Also the Lord speaks throughout scripture for the mountains, trees, animals, etc to praise Him.

Another thought is if tons and tons of water fell on these dinosaurs in a short period of 40 days along with landslides, the earths surface shifting...the pressure alone of so much water in a short period of time would crush everything between rock and earth. Man can only go so deep in the depths or the pressure would crush him.

Noah spent over a year in the Ark before the Lord told him to come out.

God Bless,
Mercy

Naturally I believe our Heavenly Father created them. The dinosaurs fits in Genesis 1:1. They are gone after verse 2. ( Study verse two in the Hebrew manuscripts ) > Genesis Chapter 1 - King James Bible With Strong's Dictionary - Bible Software by johnhurt.com

God Himself ; even describes one here: ( When He was going through a list of things He had created to Job.

Job 40:15-24

King James Version (KJV)

15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

This would be a herbivore
Noun
An dinosaur that feeds on plants.

16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

A very strong animal . It's force, is a very sure force, = sure strength, navel = muscles of its belly.

17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

He says the dinosaurs tail is like a cedar tree. The movements can cause people to stand in awe.

( Cedar tree)

18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

Iron is rather strong . His skeleton is this strong . Think of the noise to can make when this creature walks.

[color]blue]19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.p/color]

He's at top rank in strength of God's creations. sword can mean drought; also ?.

20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

Hasteth not , it does not; get agitated and run away. It doesn't tremble with fear. draw up, as drink up the Jordan =( the River ).

24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

not sure how to read this last verse... I believe God was talking about a Dinosaur here. Maybe one of the ( sauropods ).

As far as leviathan, God is actually describing satan. To show man how powerful he is against us. He say's that he mocks at the weapons of men. What animal does that. That's why we need the cross to defend us.

Now, In the beginning God made the heavens and the Earth. But, the Earth became void and full of Darkness.

Everything that God made was good. Its clear that something happened in this time period that caused this darkness.
