With 'Holy Spirit and fire.'

I love these words in Scripture !

What do they REALLY mean?

John said, '... that someone comes after me whose sandals I am not worthy to be in and, who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.' :) ) .


What does this mean !! :) I mean, we know what it means to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, but what about 'the fire.' ???


Is this some gift extenuation of giving of Himself unto us into our 'temple' or some other strange continuation of something He's given us? What is it?

WHAT IS "THE FIRE" !!!!



John The Baptist is speaking:
"As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and, I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."

Well green, the holy spirit often times will be seen as holy fire, like the burning bush. The wonderful thing about this fire is that it burns everything in us that is not of god and just as grass grows back thicker and greener from fire the parts that were burned inside us such as greed, or anger, or cold heart will be replaced with everything from Jesus such as love, patience, peace.
