[h=3]John 6:1-15[/h]New International Version - UK (NIVUK)

[h=3]Jesus feeds the five thousand[/h]6 Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias), [SUP]2 [/SUP]and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs he had performed by healing those who were ill. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Then Jesus went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples. [SUP]4 [/SUP]The Jewish Passover Festival was near.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming towards him, he said to Philip, ‘Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?’ [SUP]6 [/SUP]He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Philip answered him, ‘It would take more than half a year’s wages[SUP][a][/SUP] to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!’
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, [SUP]9 [/SUP]‘Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?’
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Jesus said, ‘Make the people sit down.’ There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). [SUP]11 [/SUP]Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, ‘Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.’ [SUP]13 [/SUP]So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, ‘Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.’ [SUP]15 [/SUP]Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.

these are my thoughts please share yours
1 according to the other gospels this happened after John the Baptists beheading by king Herod and according to Luke it happened in Bethsaida.
2 Jesus healed many people and according to John they could not be recored in all the books so not all He did was put into scripture.
3 The people came to see Jesus so it was easier for Jesus to move to the mountain so people could see Him than everybody push and shove to see Jesus.
4 The Passover was near so their would have been many their for them to go to the feast.
5 He has a desire to care for His people, as should we have the same desire to care for His people.
6 some times we are tested by the Lord, we are never tempted by the Lord but we are tested.
7 It would take very large sum of money to feed all these people. One would have to be very wealthy to do so.
8-9 Andrew found a boy with his own lunch who was willing to give it to Jesus. Andrew knew the Lord could use it otherwise he would not have bothered to give it to Jesus because their was no way this meal could come close to feed the people.
10 5000 people siting down at Jesus' comand this shows how people went after Him and also shows how many left when He was led to die.
11 When we come to Jesus we will be filled.
12 Threy had left overs this shows God's power there was more than enough food for all these people and all Jesus had was a boy's lunch.
13 They had 5 baskets full of barley left over. Jesus used the boy's small gift and made it more than the boy had, He can still do this with what we give.
14 People believed becuase they saw for themselves. They came because they had heard but now they knew.
15 They had plans that were not God's so Jesus left.
