The Bible says 144,000 Humans would be raised to heaven, to rule with Jesus over the earth for 1,000 years.
It is better to have humans rule over us than angels...who have no idea what it is to be human.

THey are Jews, but sadly many people dont think Jews exist anymore and we have stupid theories such as replacement theology. Even though we may not know who has Jewish ancestry, God knows.

Anyway REv 7 1-9

After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: [SUP]3 [/SUP]“Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” [SUP]4 [/SUP]Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben 12,000,
from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
[SUP]6 [/SUP]from the tribe of Asher 12,000,

It is the first chosen 12 tribes 12,000 in each tribe out of the tribes from Israel counted blamelessby Faith in Christ. Then John saw as in a see of glass multitudes of others in heaven
Revelation 7 shows this:
God’s People Will Be Preserved

7 Then I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds so they did not blow on the earth or the sea, or even on any tree. [SUP]2 [/SUP]And I saw another angel coming up from the east, carrying the seal of the living God. And he shouted to those four angels, who had been given power to harm land and sea, [SUP]3 [/SUP]“Wait! Don’t harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have placed the seal of God on the foreheads of his servants.”
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God—144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel:

[SUP]9 [/SUP]After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. [SUP]10 [/SUP]And they were shouting with a great roar,
“Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne

You see there are more that are going to heaven such a vast number too big to count and arecounted blameless by Faith beleif in Christ.
And revelation 14 gives more info. on this 144,000

Read verse 9 there are a lot more than the first chosen going to go to heaven brother verse 9 confirms this and this is why I told one of that denomination that states that only 144,000 are going to go to heaven that when I was told this I responded with Wow!!! that is too bad then and looked at me funny, as I said because I am 144,001, you might be 144,002 blain you do believe right, God is faithful and draws us to be back to him and be this back to him through us agreeing with God not by force

The description is clear of the 144,000 with 12,000 from each of the tribes of Israel, but I am keeping this one inside until the last days are revealed. As with Daniel who gave us prophesies of the last days and did not understand what it was he was given to write down in the book, so I am pleased to wait until the actual meaning of Revelation and so many other prophets' words are revealed to believers everywhere in preparing us for what is to take place. He will not leave us alone. Even the numbers could be an allegory, not to mention the twelve tribes. As KatyFollwer mentions, there are twelve tribes and twelve apostles, and who knows what else there are twelve of to consider. Waiting for the Lord, on the Lord will always be my own way of believing. No one is going to pry interpretation out of the Word, it is either given by the Holy Spirit or it remains a treasure worthy of waiting for.

The 144,000 (which is a symoblic number) are all the Jews who have been saved and are part of the Church, including both the Old Testament faithful Jews and the New Testament faithful Jews, and every Jew who has believed on Jesus for salvation right up until our present day, and until the end of time. These are distinct from the "multitudes from every kindred and nation and tongue" (Gentiles) who are also saved throughout the ages.

In Christ,

You can’t save the blood line, for flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

They are 12 spiritual tribes, virgin to Christ, and there is no Jew or Greek in Christ Jesus, for there is only one body the church

2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

And as James said when greeting the church.

James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

I presume it means Jews who are serving God faithfully under the law. Don't know if it applies to those of us with Jewish descent (my dads mum in my case) who haven't practised Judaism. Am glad I'm Christian cos that way I know am covered

[h=1]Who are the 144,000 of Revelation?[/h]
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe there is a “little flock” of 144,000 (Revelation 7:4) who get to go to heaven and a “great crowd’ (Revelation 7:9) of others who are relegated to earth. What does Revelation really reveal? First, the 144,000 and the great multitude are not two different peoples but two different ways of describing the same purified bride. As Richard Bauckham explains, literarily, the 144,000 and the great multitude are comparable to the Lion and the Lamb. Just as John is told about a Lion and turns to see a Lamb (Revelation 5:5–6), so he is told about the 144,000 and turns to see a great multitude (Revelation 7). Thus, the 144,000 is to the great multitude what the Lion is to the Lamb, namely, the same entity seen from two different vantage points. From one vantage point the purified bride is numbered; from another, she is innumerable—a great multitude that no one can count.

Furthermore, to suggest that the 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes means exactly 12,000—not 11,999 or 12,001—must surely stretch the credulity of even the most literalistic Jehovah’s Witness beyond the breaking point. To begin with, ten of the twelve tribes lost their national identity almost three thousand years ago in the Assyrian exile. The other two, Judah and Benjamin, were largely decimated two thousand years ago by Roman hordes. Moreover, the pattern of Scripture is to refer to the community of faith, whether Jew or Gentile, with Jewish designations. New Jerusalem itself is figuratively built on the foundation of the twelve apostles and is entered through twelve gates inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. Not only so, but its walls are twelve times twelve or 144 cubits thick (Revelation 21:12–17). As such, it is far more likely that 144,000 is a number that represents the 12 apostles of the Lamb multiplied by the 12 tribes of Israel, times 1,000. The figurative use of the number 12 and its multiples is well established in biblical history. For example, the tree of life in Paradise restored is said to bear twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month (Revelation 22:2), and the great Presbytery in heaven is surrounded by twenty–four elders (Revelation 4:4; 5:8; 11:16; 19:4). Likewise, the figurative use of the whole number 1,000 is common in Old Testament usage. God increased the number of the Israelites 1,000 times (Deuteronomy 1:11); God keeps his covenant to 1,000 generations (Deuteronomy 7:9); God owns the cattle on 1,000 hills (Psalm 50:10); the least of Zion will become 1,000 and the smallest a mighty nation (Isaiah 60:22); better is a day in God’s courts than 1,000 elsewhere (Psalm 84:10); God shows love to 1,000 generations (Exodus 20:6); “Even if a thousand shekels were weighed out into my hands, I would not lift my hand against the king’s son” (2 Samuel 18:12). A thousand more examples (figuratively speaking) could easily be added to the list.

Finally, the 144,000 represent true Israel as it was intended to be—in perfect symmetry and providentially sealed. Who can help but think back to Ezekiel’s epic depiction of a man clothed in linen etching a mark on the foreheads of those who grieved and lamented over all the detestable things done in Jerusalem prior to its destruction by the Babylonians six centuries before Christ (Ezekiel 9:4)? Or fail to realize that those who were marked were the earnest of the 144,000 sealed prior to Jerusalem’s destruction in AD 70? She is the purified bride from every nation, tribe, people, and language that will step over Jordan into the New Jerusalem prepared for her from the very foundations of the world. Indeed, the 144,000 is the limitless great multitude of all whose names are written in the Book of Life and who will inhabit the courts of God for all eternity.

the 144000 are converted people from the nation of Isreal who have repented and recieved their true messiah (Christ) I believe their job is to spread the gospel to their people, and the gentiles.
Revelation 14:11And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
And I think these chosen ones will be here to preach this as you said for they will be free of the beast and stating to those that are left here to not take the mark of the beast. To stand fast and count it alljoy to be burned or drowned or to watch then take what you most love here on earth and use it for one todeny Christ and take the Mark of the beast soone can live here and now.
Noi wonder Cbhruist warned us not to have anything more precious than him. Because in the tribulation if one does then they will choose eating over God, or their Children over God their parents over God. WOW!!!!!! you all get ready Are any of us prepared to go the distance and not deny Christ as we see our children being tortured and killed our parents our spouse. Can anyone of us get past our emotions that are created from this terrible scene that will take place some day. Are we ready to deny this worls and all it has to offer as Christ did? Are we prepared for this? Tell me what does anyone of us love morehere on earth than God? In the great tribulation this will be put to the test.
Has anyone ever seen the movie the thief in the night and the three sequels after this. Very enlightening
All ican for me is to remember this, and was not in the movie I just mentioned is I am held captive by the enemy trying to get me to deny Christ and take the mark of the beast. They got my kids across from me hanging above a hot oil pit and telling me unless I deny Christ and take the mark they are going to drop my kids in the burning oil pit
So I therefore living in reality above my flesh emotions yell out to the kids I will see you in Heaven when I get tocomeas I told you kids NEVER GIVE UP. And then say to them Christ is my Life, and all those that believe. and then they ofcoarse try other methods to get me, you and you to deny Christ. and I say "NEVER GIVE UP "

From God The Father - A Letter Given to Timothy, For Timothy, and For all Those Who Have Ears to Hear

Timothy, why do you beseech The Lord your God? Have I not given you your heart’s desire? It is your own spirit which stifles that which I have given you, because of doubt... Doubt is your enemy, doubt is your adversary, all in all a lie, a clever work of the devil to which you have given heed.
Therefore, cast off these unfruitful works of the devil, and embrace that which I have given you, and you shall surely be established; let not doubt and fear rule over you any longer. You need only turn to Me and believe, for all I have spoken to you shall surely be.
You ask of these things, written in the book called Revelation, and of the 144,000... Why do you doubt such things? Have I not said to you, “You are chosen, and you shall not be unchosen”?
Therefore, listen and understand: God is no respecter of persons, for all in Christ are of one body.So neither by lineage nor inheritance have I chosen these 12,000 from each tribe; for who I have chosen, I have chosen. Whether they be of the Gentiles, or of the line of Israel, there is no difference; for who I have chosen, I have chosen. I am The Lord.

And if I choose one such as you,
Whom I have plucked from among the Gentiles and grafted in,
Are you not then the same as those who remain in the olive tree?...

Of the same family, under God, sons and daughters,
All of one family by the blood of Christ?...

For only those in union with The Messiah shall go for Me.

Therefore, put no difference between you and them. For if you are adopted into the family of Abraham, then of Abraham you are; if I have grafted you into the branch of Levi, then of the Levites you are and as a Levite you shall serve... And if you grow from The True Vine, and I Myself have pruned you, then you shall bear much fruit in My name. I am The Lord.
Therefore let no man, nor any doctrine conceived in the churches of men, lead you astray. Do not be swayed, nor doubt, on account of all their lofty assertions, which they falsely call truth. For they lack understanding, their knowledge is corrupt, and they will not embrace the will of God as it truly is, nor have they heard the voice of The Lord their God.

For who I choose, I choose...
And those I establish in Messiah can by no means be unchosen...

For I AM THE LORD.
