Default Did God and Jesus create the entire human race on the 6th day of creation?

I would like to know what the scholars in this chat room think about how the creation unfolded. Was everything created in 1 day or is the creation an on-going process?

God formed (Heb. bara) the earth in six days. This completed the plan. He finished (Heb. asher) the first man right at the end. Jesus was there from the beginning. When God created light, evening came and morning followed. The earth got dark first, because it turned away from God, not being able to take all of His plan at one time. Since man is in charge of earth, and has a body made of earth, we manifest His plan one part at a time, and this is why it seems to be unfolding.

So you do not believe that the entire human race was created on the 6th day. Because of rejecting God and Jesus, you believe that the 1st man was created then, but the rest are created later? Am I right about your belief? I really don't want to put words in your mouth. I will not argue either, this is strictly informational. Thanks for your reply.

don't consider myself a scholar but I'm pretty basic that God created the world in 6 days... Adam and Eve on the 6th day...what God considers a day is probably NOT 24 hours or even 1000 24 hour cycles but that is another discussion I guess.......life is an ongoing process.... God finished creation....there is a difference......ever hear of this

The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can change its form.

The total quantity of matter and energy available in the universe is a fixed amount and never any more or less.
God created energy and matter in six days, but the process of life and what we mundanely call "creation" still happens, but in truth it is just a change in form.....

So you would say that God did not create all of mankind on the 6th day. Is that fair? Again, this is not confrontational, it is informational. Thanks for your reply.

When God created Adam, He also made the seed for Seth, who made the seed for Enosh, who made the seed for.......Noah....Japheth......(Grandpa) Adolph Behrens....me. God doesn't see days, He sees all time together. So God created them all at once, but they just show up one at a time, and thus appear to unfold.

The Bible only says that Adam (אדם - or humans or humanity) was created on the 6th day. The rest of us are all "begats" as KJV says, or we were "fathered" back to Adam.

    Why do you ask?

Sorry, MisCris. At age 27, this probably looks like tongues to you. The Jews wouldn't even teach this to people under 50, because it just confused them. I'll try what I can: the Hebrew words in the OT do not translate well into English, so there has been a lot of bad teaching, especially when they treated everybody like children, as some churches did for many centuries. Genesis 1 deals with God's plans, sort of like archetypes. Genesis 2 deals with the fulfillment of those plans. God envisioned man as one creation, all of us, from all time. That's what Genesis 1 is saying. Genesis 2 through the rest of the Bible is how it worked out on earth.

Let's try explaining time as a fourth dimension. Think of people living on a sheet of paper (two dimensional). The paper is falling from a great height, and takes several years to fall (low gravity, lol), so the height, the third dimension is not part of the paper. Each person is a different color, so we can watch them easier for our thought-experiment. The people on the paper think time is passing, so year 1 is at the top of the skyscraper it fell from, year 2 is at the highest floor window, etc. Over the years, the people have babies, and die. As the paper falls each person makes a mark in the air for wherever he was at that "time" (height). You look at this event when it is all over, and you can see where the red person was, the blue person and so on, because the marks they left behind, hanging in the air, look like tangled ribbons in the air. Every few floors a new color person appears (was born), and every few floors a ribbon ends (person died). Now, God can see us the same way. Except He made all the ribbons and put each one exactly where it was supposed to start (on the sixth day). He can see our whole life, however much our ribbons got tangled on the way down. That's how He can make us all at once, and still make us all be at a different time in what we call history. Genesis 1 is where it talks about how He put the ribbons together, and what kind He used.

That's not perfect, as it leaves out all of free will, salvation, etc., but it's kind of the standard way of viewing space/time our culture uses in place of the Hebrew translations.

I see what you're saying...kind of. What I do understand, I don't know if I agree with, but thank you for taking the time to answer.

If it brings you the study of the Word, and to prayer for God's understanding, that alone makes it the right response. There are many ways to explain part of the work of God, and you may well find a better one to explain this.

Could another word for seed be spirit. Could God and Jesus have created each individual's spirit in the 1st chapter of Genesis and then created the first male and female bodies of flesh and bone and blood in the 2nd chaper of Genesis? Then after that the spirit was put into each begat body procreated by God and man? This is a simplified version of the process, but simple sometimes is better to start a discussion.

No, the earth was created from the big bang. Fact. Not some loner with an obsession for making things out of clay.

You could apply it that way, I suppose. There is a little difficulty, in that Hebrew gives us five parts of man. ruach (spirit), chai (life) nephesh (soul) shem (name), and then body. The breath (neshama) is extra. When God makes us in Gen. 1, we are nephesh chai. Spirit, soul, breath, even body are not mentioned until later. So you would have to determine which of these you mean is transmitted in the seed. Not prohibitive to overcome, but would take some work, as seed is used many other places and is important in defining Messiah. Recall, as you approach it, that Abraham is a blessing to the world in his "seed", also, and Messiah is of the seed of David.

A lot of christian believe there was an event in which some energy was made matter. And basically we are made out of "clay" or elements and molecules ,chemical bonds , repulsion s, ect. I personally don't believe that all was created in six literal days . There are still changes and things evolving as we speak. That's my opinion , but sure many would disagree. I do not think it makes God any less perhaps it even makes him more awesome Don't stress to much. Its not healthy.

First was it created in one day, Not in a 24 hour period that many people associate a day with. The base word for day used in Hebrew means from evening to evening. The sun and the moon were not created till the fourth day. So how long is a day? Only God can create, If you believe in the God of the bible, Lucifier did not have the power to create. God Created everything. And gave Mankind the ability to reproduce.

Isn't it amazing that who ever wrote the Book of Genesis (believed to be Moses) knew the exact order of life starting with the life in the sea to Mankind being the last evolution change according to sciencetist which still today match the story of creation written thousands of years before. Yea big bang that was it.

The Hebrew of Genesis informs the reader that the Universe, including our sun and our earth was created before 'day 1'.

Commencing with 'day 1' is the sequential transformation of a void, water covered earth to one that could sustain ever increasingly complex life forms.

These are epochs of time - not 24hr periods.

God's final creative act in the Genesis narrative was to create mankind...and He will create again with the New Heavens and New Earth, of which we refer to as Heaven.

    Not a scholar....

The creation is an on-going process. He is still working in us. Everything was created from which He was then going to make, the raw materials if you will. If u see the greek word for created in this verse

Gn 1:27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

it is actually "u.ibra" which is C-R-E-A-T-I-N-G and not "created". The same is used for animals, plants etc.

Creation of everything happened millions of years ago before creating human race. The six days mentioned in the bible is not six 24hrs day. but God is telling he created heaven and the earth only in "daytime"

Gn 1:5 And God called the light Day , and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Light is day, and darkness is night. Day is "yom". God created heaven and earth in "Yom", not 6 literal 24 hrs day.

Gn 2:4 . These [are] the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day (yom) that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Six days in the Genesis is six stages of creation. The creation of man is still an ongoing process, if u read carefully we see God said " it is good" after each creation.

But god did not say "it was good" after creating man. but later he says Later he tells Gn 1:31 . And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

CREATION GOOD IT WAS SO H1961 (IT WAS SO/ WAS/ TO EXIST)
light Gen 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good Gen 1:3 there was light
earth and sea Gn 1:10 and God saw that [it was] good. Gen 1:9 it was so
green/herbs/plant Gn 1:12 and God saw that [it was] good. Gn 1:11 it was so
Animals Gn 1:25 and God saw that [it was] good. Gn 1:24 it was so
firament Gn 1:18 God saw that it was good Gn 1:7 it was so
Man The verse is missing..... The verse is missing....
