"The ship can't move forward when there is mutiny aboard". Can't give credit for this quote but wrote it down a while back because I thought it was thought provoking. When there is a struggle within my own heart to please God or please myself it creates a mutiny within and I soon find myself in stagnant waters - going nowhere. When I surrender the struggle it's like a fire sparks inside me and once again I'm moving on with the Lord. Anyone else relate?

Yes, I can relate. It also applies to the church at large. We aren't what we are supposed to be.

reminds me of how Jacob wrestled with God until God gave him a new name: Israel....Genesis 32
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. [SUP]25 [/SUP]Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. [SUP]26 [/SUP]And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.”But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”
[SUP]27 [/SUP]So He said to him, “What is your name?”
He said, “Jacob.”
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel;[SUP][b][/SUP] for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.”
And He said, “Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel:[SUP][c][/SUP] “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

It all reminds me of a poem I wrote last year...

Stuck in neutral going nowhere fast,Always running ahead but only seeing the past.

Stuck in neutral immobile as a gimp,
Heading for the finish line... last with a limp.

Stuck in neutral with nothing really to show,
Except a blown tranny and a muffler with a hole.

Stuck in neutral this poem is getting to be,
Just like the hand behind it looking to be free.
