Romans 13:8-14

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

For the commandments,
"You shall not commit adultery,"
"You shall not murder,"
"You shall not steal,"
"You shall not bear false witness,"
"You shall not covet,"
and if there is any other commandment,
are all summed up in this saying, namely,

"You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Love does no harm to a neighbor;

Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

And do this, knowing the time,

that now it is high time to awake out of sleep;

For now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

The night is far spent,

the day is at hand,

Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness,

and let us put on the armor of light.

Let us walk properly,

as in the day,

not in revelry and drunkenness,

not in lewdness, and lust,

not in strife and envy.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ,

And make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

1Cor.13:1-13

Though I speak with the tongues of men an of angels,

but have not love,

I have become a sounding brass of a clanging cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could move mountains,

but have not love,

I am nothing.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor,

and though I give my body to be burned,

but have not love,

it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long,

and is kind;

love does not envy;

love does not parade itself,

is not puffed up;

does not behave itself rudely,

does not seeks it own,

is not provoked,

thinks no evil;

does not rejoice in iniquity,

but rejoices in the truth;

bears all things,

believes all things,

hopes all things,

endures all things.

Love never fails.

But whether the are prophecies, they will fail;

whether there are tongues, they will cease;

whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part.

But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child;
but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.
Now I know in part,
but then I shall know just as I also am known.

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three;

But the greatest of these is LOVE.

Now tell me,

Where is all the Love?

This is why the churches are having so much trouble,
They have become a clanging symbol,
They lack Love!

We must choose to love and fulfill the law.
It is a command and should be a foundation of the church, and every Christian should be know by there love.

We have no excuses, when it comes to loving others, we will stand before God and answer for our lack of love.

Choose to love one another and you will see God move in a mighty way,

Don't judge your neighbors sins,
( the word says love covers a multitude of sins not only yours but theirs.)
Love is the power of the living word come alive,
It is life and gives life, it is Holy!

The word says God is Love..

Jesus died for all of us, Why? Love!

He loved the world so much, he was willing to lay His life down for us while we were still sinners.

Are we suppose to love the way Jesus loves us?
Stop judging and start loving!

Stand up for Jesus, and step out in faith and love your neighbor as yourself,

Trust me when I tell you this,
for if you do love,
you will see the face of God,
and signs and wonders will follow you where ever you go!
Why?
Because You believe in Jesus, and you are obeying the command to love.
You will become a spring of living water, you will bring life into death, and change darkness into light.

Love never fails!

AMEN! I think there are so many Christians out there who get soooooo caught up in judging people, condemning them, pointing fingers, casting stones, telling them they are wrong, putting their noses up to the poor and sick and windowed/orphaned, that we forget what God's greatest commandments were about...LOVE. Of all the things we do, if we approach it with a spirit of love, we are doing God's work. So instead of pointing fingers saying that homeless person is a pile of lazy rot who got themselves into their own mess, approach them with love. Remind them of God's message. Even so much as a smile, and a God bless you, could be all it takes to make a person's day worth living. No more hate, no more judging, no more snobbing, just put it all aside and love one another.

Thank you for your post, it made me day.

Wow, the first part sounds like your describing a pharisee!
What did Jesus come to set us free from?

It sounds like the love is what makes the difference between the two.

Listen, nothing done for God which is done in Love is never done in vain.

Love is the Key!

We are commanded to Love.
The renewing of our minds and the healing of our hearts come as we choose to love others first, read ISA 58.
The power of love to heal,
The power of love to restore and give life, the power of love can change death into life.
God is love and those that love are of God.

If you got no love, you have nothing, there is no life in you!

Make sure your eye is good, for what you see is in your heart, and what is in your heart you speak, so make sure what you say and do, is done in love or it means nothing! It will all be burned away, which is not done in love!

For many will come and say to the Lord,
Lord, did we not cast out demons and heal the sick in your name,
And because they did not love,
The Lord will say, go away I never knew you.
The word of God comes true, for the rock caused them to stumble and became a rock of offense to them,
they have ears but do not hear,
they have eyes but do not see, for if they could see they would turn to the Lord and He would heal them.

The only way to obey God is to do what His word says, Love fulfills this law and is required by everyone who truly believes in Jesus!

We are to be know for our Love, or it is all done for nothing!

God's love comes from who He is because God is love. As believers we can not reproduce that love toward others. It can not be copied, imitated or worked up in the believer's life. God is love and the love that comes from God comes from who He is. Human love is not God's love. Human love may take on some of the characteristics of God's love but will ultimately get frustrated and fail because it is human. God's love is not human love though it loves humans and does all the things that human love does. God's love is from above and is shed abroad in the heart by the Holy Spirit. Human love is from below and is based upon a human value system that requires human contact. God's love has its value system based upon the nature of God and does not require human contact in order to be expressed.

All of the characteristics in 1Cor 13 concerning the love of God do not require human contact or response. If no humans existed these characteristics would be true because they reveal who God is. Before man or any of the angelic host was created, God is love. Human love needs to be expressed and reciprocated in order to have a purpose and effect on others. When human love is initiated it needs to be responded to in order to have value and hope for the recipient. God's love is initiated with no demand for a response and never loses hope because it was not initiated for the purpose of being responded to because it is unconditional in its nature and being. Human love is always trying to be something and do something because it is never content with what it is and who it comes from. God is the source of His own love and is content with His own nature. He never has to question His love because He is not insecure with His own nature. In Him is no darkness at all, so that makes the love of God pure light. God is light and it takes the purity of God's light to reveal the nature of God's love.

When a husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the church and gave Himself for it, he is to do it not with human love but with God's love (agapao). That love can only come through the Holy Spirit who reveals the light of God's nature in the heart of the husband. The husband that loves his wife this way is not looking for a response but simply initiates love unconditionally. When he does it this way he does not get angry when his wife rejects his love and does not respond to it. If this happens he is patient, kind, he hopes all things and endures all things and his love never fails because it came from God. If he tries to please his wife and she is not pleased or takes it the wrong way, he is not insecure about it and does not get reactionary and negative and start accusing her. He goes on in the love of God and walks in the Spirit of that love instead of retreating into his flesh. He doesn't magnify details that he is unhappy with but rather magnifies Christ in those details with good emotions and a faith that works by love.

I always feel that I fall short of the love of God all the time and God has to remind me that the love of God is not a feeling, but an action. It is good to pray everyday that God would mannifest his love in our hearts especially for our enemies because if we only love those who love us, what reward do we have? Even the pharisees love those who love them. When somebody has treated me mean or says something mean, I think of ways that I can bless them. Even though in my feelings, I'd like to punch them in the nose, it is my actions that count. When my mother is law was gossipping and telling horrible lies and trying to cause me grief, I would get permission from my husband to order her up a beautiful bunch of flowers from the flower shope and have them delivered to her. God sure honored my faith!! Knowing how to overcome evil with good has always been a goal that I love to try. When I see the weaker people being picked on or bullied, I have a much harder time with my self control and I stick up for them the best I know how without ending up going to jail.

I think what helps me is that I have to remember that our fight is not against flesh and blood.
Fighting with people is flesh.

But we show our love to God by keeping His words and it is God that we are commanded to love first then others .

Lu 6:45A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.Lu 6:46And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Joh 14:15If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1pe 1:14As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:1pe 1:15But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;1pe 1:16Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

we should never put a person or persons before God! God first then love others

Very True!
It's all about love!
How can we love unless God loves use first?
We are to love the way God loves us.

We are commanded to love God with all our hearts, with all of our minds, and with all of our strength, first and for most Loving God.
But how could you even say we love God, unless you love your neighbor as yourself!
Many people say they love God but fail to show it.
Bottom line it all has to with love.
God is love

Mt 7:18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

tell me you have not known atheist that have love and admired and provided and protected their families better than some so called Christians or tell me have you known atheist to be more honest than some so called Christians. so what is the difference if any

1ti 5:8But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an INFIDEL.
being true is a characteristic of God, Jesus said I am the truth, if we follow Jesus we must also be truth, truth is the strongest thing in the earth, Honesty is the best policy, is it love if you let someone walk into trouble because you think that is the way they want it or is it love to even put that friendship on the Line and say you know them drugs are going to kill you, so it is love for God that we have or love for our friends that we would continue to allow them to walk in false doctrines and not only allow them to but also encourage them as they do it. or is it love to show them thus saith the Lord, are you trueful with someone if you see their pants unzipped , and just because you don't want to embarrass them, you don't speak up or will a true friend tell us, hey check your fly, ok so all my friends in here and while I am at it all those that even hate me ; let me tell you this

2ti 2:15Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Human love, no matter how good it may express itself towards others, is not the love of God. The verse in 1Cor 13:3 says, 'And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.' The source of all human love is from man and for man to glorify man and not God. A believer who lives in human love can not justify that love and glorify God with it. The only love that God will recognize and approve is His own love (agape) and it takes the Holy Spirit and the obedience of faith for that love to be expressed as the true nature of God.

You could be a believer for years and tell me that you love me but as soon as I fail or sin you go and blab it to others. Your love never covered my sin and was only human love expressed in the name of God. If you love yourself as God loves you, then you would not go around talking about your own sins or failures. Do you think that God is going around talking about your sin and failures behind your back. Do we love our neighbor the same way or is it just human love that we call the love of God? Just how longsuffering is our love? God's love never works any ill towards its neighbor. The love of God never thinks evil of any man. Have we ever done that? If we have thought evil and tried to justify it, it was not the love of God. God's love lays its life down for the guilty not the innocent. The love of God was in Christ taking the blame for our sin and He died for it.
