The Triune God - Father, Son (Christ Jesus) and Holy Spirit have always existed in perfect relationship with each other. God is complete in and of himself but He decides to create Adam and Eve. He gives them Life and they share in this perfect relationship with Him.

God gives Adam and Eve free will. For a time, Adam and Eve walk with God in the paradise of Eden but temptation strikes and they fall to it. They effectively give God the finger saying: "Stuff you, God! We want to Live apart from you and carve out our own meaning. We want to be our own god."

God gives them Life and they choose Death. They no longer live in perfect relationship with their Triune God.

Approximately 4 thousand years pass...
Enter stage left - the Creator and Lord of the universe. God arrives on earth in human form (the Word becomes flesh). Christ Jesus experiences temptation and what it means to be human. In all of this, He is 100% God/100% man and yet He doesn't fall to sin. Christ offers us His Truth. He offers us Life. Our hope is found in Him. And what is our response? We kill Him!

But God has already foreordained this. He has a plan. He sends his Son, Christ Jesus to the cross as the Living Sacrifice - this is scandalous, unheard of - the sacrifice of a sinless God/man to save sinful humanity! Christ takes on all of the world's sins - past, present and future and faces the full wrath of God for our sins. Then, He dies.

On the third day, Christ returns to life, victorious over sin, death and the devil. In His death, creation is redeemed and humanity is given new Life.

The Triune God adopts us into His family, invites us into His perfect relationship. We need only open our eyes to God's Truth and accept His undeserved love (Grace). He asks us to turn from our old ways and to follow Him and His ways.

We too can reclaim and share in this Life He offers to us.
