This is not a post about wether miracles are true or not. For the purpose of this discussion let's just say that all miracles in the bible are true.

Why don't they happen anymore? Stuff like the Sun staying still so
Battles can be won, sea's parting, sick people healed etc.

The media can now cover anything that could ever happen anywhere in the world, but no miracles are ever
Reported.

I say it's because:

A) miracles had to happen at that point in the past because the technology that assists us now Wasn't available back then so maybe god stepped in? "Ain't invented boats yet have you sir, let me part that sea for you."

B) the miracle is subjective. The idea
Of immense rain would really ruin my day, however a farmer on the brink of going under would welcome this
Massive downpour as it might save his livelihood. A needed miracle for him, an inconvenience to me.

C) people were more open to miracles then. If god tried that sort of stuff
Now, it would just be shot down and degraded with some logical explanation. Cos we are more cynical now than ever.

What's a believers take on this? Am I even close?

Thanks in advance :)

Well All those could be right, Miracles do happen though. Just not the same ones all the time. Healing happens to be one that can always happen to one who has faith. But as for the reason miracles do not happen as often as they used to who know, god may just have a different way of doing things after Jesus died and rose again

I believe miracles happen all the time. Its our own mindset whether we acknowledge them as miracles or not. Science and media as done a terrific job of 'explaining' away our faith. We have to choose to remain 'living in this world, not of this world' and keeping our thoughts set on the things of God. Keeping our eyes set on Jesus.

Its sometimes a challenge to step out of carnal, or worldly thinking, and remain in the spirit.
The more you do, the more you see Gods mighty hand at work.

I forgot option d:) Maybe man is capable of more now and is
More intelligent and doesn't need much divine intervention to get things done. Skilled doctors, pilots, soldiers etc

I seriously doubt it. The effects of sin become more apparent with each generation. So, it's most likely that we're less intelligent and less capable than people in Bible times. The ancients had technologies, some that we still don't have to date.

Daily Miracles:

Salvation
A new born baby
People suddenly getting healed (for no apparent reason)

And many other things that happen in our daily lives that we don't acknowledge as miracles. Sometimes our fleshly mind gets in the way of us seeing through our spiritual eyes.

There is nothing new under the sun.Miracles happen all the time, were just not aware of it and as we approach the last day miracles will increase. I also think that people will see more of the spiritual world as it was a common thing in the OT to see angels and even the Glory of God.

Miracles continue to occur. I have seen and experienced them. The fact that you (e.g. straightener) are not does not surprise me as you are a non-believer. In God's economy, faith is the currency of the kingdom.

I hear tons of miracles are happening in Africa, where they do not have the prosperity we do here. I know of many miracles that happen here, in any event. My wife wrote a book just about her life: http://www.kenbehrens.com/Miracles.pdf

Sometime, go through the Bible and count how many miracles Jesus actually worked (being careful of the wording), and divide it by the three years of His ministry. You might be surprised.

People with unbelieve would look to something else to solve what caused the wonders the cann't explain. So when miracles happen the media would not cover it as such
