It is doubt to begin with that caused the fall, Adam and Eve were subdued into eating from the tree that God said would bring them death and it did God is not a liar period seek out God to know God and you shall know God for he has provided the way through his Son first by forgiving all tresspasses provided at the cross
1 John 2:12I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
Then saving you by the resurrection giving the ones that believe a new life in his Spirit restored what was lost in Adam and Eve
Romans 5:10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life
Either one believes this or they do not free choice, no doubt is what unleashes truth

Honestly, the only reason i know i am right in my faith is the love god and i share with each other. I mean i have had some pretty bad doubts, some fears that would have made me lose all hope. So i was asked by some voice in my head, how do you know you are a true follower of god? How is it you believe you are going to heaven even though these fears say otherwise? My Response to this was the only reason i know is the love god and i share. Love is what my faith is built upon and it's love that holds it together

I don't have doubts any more, and more and more I see myself as first a creation of God in a world best operated by how God says than as a member of my family, country, etc. Now, those things seem like a result of God in my life.

The path to this was long and slow after receiving the Holy Spirit so I could understand. I started with the New Testament, almost memorizing it. It was an in depth study of the Old Testament that brought about a faith so solid there were no doubts. But it was reading these and studying the history of the people at the time it was written to that really brought it home so all doubt was gone. This way I could understand clearly the path God has for us from creation through giving us a way to live with Him forever.

Studying history of the world has helped, as I study to see how God is working in history. I think we have been blessed at this time in history with knowledge given us through the dead sea scrolls. Time separated us so from the beginning of creation and the culture of the people in those first years that there was little understanding. God had these scrolls hidden until we needed them.

I once asked Christian this before and he gave me a great answer.

As I'm an atheist he explained it to be with a basic analogy. He equated The books of The Bible to songs on a greatest hits album.

Some songs should be there and others shouldn't and some songs cause a stirring more inside you than others do, and it's those songs that stay with you.

His favourite 'Song' was the Sermon on The Mount. That meant the most to him and was the basis of his faith.

The best way to deal with doubts is to pray. God answers prayer. He will confirm your beliefs or lead you to refine your beliefs if you are off on some aspects of your thought process.

Even if you are an atheist pray. God will show you in one way or another that He is real!!!!

God's promises in the Bible. You have to take God's Word on faith and trust him anyway when doubts creep in. And not all doubts are bad. If you channel them to bring you closer to God, to grow in him and your understanding of him, they can be very useful and an important part of your faith walk.

So true Tintin often He will remove the fake stuff we may hold ourselves up with
to get us to grow deeper roots in true and pure faith.

"Lord i believe, help thou my unbelief" is a prayer Jesus liked. Who is the "author" and "finisher" of our faith.

If you're wondering whether your really saved or not. This is good test. hit your elbow on something or stump your toe. When I was thinking about this question, I was working on my roof and I hit my thumb with the hammer. I said praise God and glory to your name, and that moment The Lord spoke in my heart and said you didn't say that before. I knew, because, before I would say something else.

Uh, I don't think that's how you test your salvation. Cool story though.

The first thing I would do is check my Biblical obedience.

Walking in disobedience can cause doubts.

Questioning our faith is something that we should all do. Before giving the status of truth to something , it is a good idea to verify its veracity. This is an excellent way to build a stronger foundation to our beliefs.

Our Christian faith rests heavily on what Jesus said, what he did, and what happened. A careful analysis of the gospel testimonies and the letters of the NT shows that these can be trusted. Further, historical evidences reveal that Jesus really existed and that he was crucified under Ponce Pilate and reported resurrected.

The resurrection is obviously the most fundamental reason to believe in God. In fact, if Christ is not resurrected then there is no reason to believe in any God. Although there are no direct evidences of Jesus resurrection, there are certainly indirect evidences. For example, the apostles abandoned Jesus when he was arrested and Peter even said that he did not know that man. However, after the resurrection, they all proclaimed that Jesus is the Messiah, the Lord and is risen from the dead. They had nothing to win from such claims but insults, persecutions and violent deaths. Similarly, Paul himself said that he persecuted the church because he wanted to get rid of that faith. However, after he saw the resurrected Lord, he then proclaimed the faith he wanted to destroy. Such changes in behavior clearly point to a radical event in their live, namely, the resurrection of the Lord.

The best way to know if God exist is obviously to experience his presence. May the Holy Spirit dwells in your heart forever ...

The more I study the Bible, the more I fellowship with mature Christians, the more I pray and meditate the stronger my faith becomes. I cannot remember the last time I doubted.

I think God is the foundation of my faith, and he is in control. He knows when I need some extra love, a person to minister to me, or sometimes, a kick in the pants when I am full of self pity, usually administered by my adult daughter.

I know when I was younger, doubts used to come in. It was never me that restored my faith, but God every time. I guess my faith is based on Jesus carrying me in his arms. I can't really see any other way I would make it, without the loving hands of the Lord!

God has always made things simple. Man complicates. Rom.10:17, "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." If you are following the word of God and trusting in what God says through the inspired word then that is your assurance. "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were TAUGHT, abounding in thanksgiving." Col. 2:6-7. True faith cannot be based on subjective (I feel, I experienced therefore I know) but on the objective faith once for all delivered in the Word of God. If I follow the word of God and when I sin turn and repent to God, I can know that my faith is in the right thing and God's grace will continue to cleanse you by his grace.

An example from Scripture...

But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped. (Psa 73:2)

until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end. (Psa 73:17)

Slightly different matter...same solution.

The Lord leads. Having faith in His leading ,which means I am following Him and accepting His will for my life and I know I will see 'fruit' of what is being done, I will have confirmation that the Lord is leading my life. I will be bold in asking Him for what He wants me to do and doing it, as He leads. There will be mistakes in my direction gone, selfish decisions, too, but God knows to cut off the parts that aren't producing fruit. He is 'the vine,' and, I am 'the branches,' of that which I have no doubt and I accept His cutting off of things that are not producing fruit, for the earthly acts of my obedience to Him, through faith, will make me grow in Him, faithfully allowing Him to add 'fruit' to the branches.

Just some food for thought
Anything without Faith is sin, I can sing praises, I can help an elerly person, I can give all I have to the poor and without Faith I am without love and therefore all my obedience if without love is all fruitless

Romans 8:27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
Romans 8:26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Hebrews 8:6But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.

What assures you that what you believe is right when you begin to have doubts?
Faith is a gift that God has given me, it has nothing to do about me and my feelings.

1Cor.12

[3] Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
[4] Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

[9] To another faith by the same Spirit
Eph.2

[1] And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
[2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
[3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
[4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
[5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, ( by grace ye are saved )
[6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
[7] That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Faith is the assurance. God will show you he is with you.
In some of the lowest points in my life I knew he was there. I felt sense of comfort. In some situations where some people may "curse" God I leaned on him more. He was there, and still is.
