I have a proposition for everyone. It is an easy proposition to decide upon. Is there a version of the Word preferred by most that may be used here in the room. I ask because I have posted from the KJV which I like to use, and I realize that many will not quite capture what is being said if it is not in a different version, and this is a great disservice to our Master. So, what about us voting to make things as easy as is available for the members of this forum, then, perhaps act upon the decision? What version of the Word do you believe is the most viable for the Christian Chat forum?? If you select "Specific Version" please name the version for your counting.

I see your point. But that's like asking a stadium full of kids to all agree on one flavor of ice cream. Not gonna happen. :)

In my opinion, and for my own confidence in the word i have to say KJV. Many say they don't understand the KJV version, but we need to remember God's word is written on our hearts, so when we read and read the KJV as a love letter written to us by the inspiration of the Father Himself, we can see what it's saying. Believe me i'm not a smart person, alot of times when some one use a big word that i'm not use to hearing i need to ask what the word means, sometimes it's not even a big word, the other day i'n the bible study some one asked what was the thought of genocide of the world. i had heard that word but didn't really know what it meant so i had to ask. So what i'm saying is most of you brothers and sisters in these forums are so smart compared to me, most are probably 98.9 percent smarter. So if the KJV can be read by one as simple minded as this one, just about any one can get what it's saying. Was in the bible study yesturday, thats usually where i go, and posted some scripture, noticed a verse gone, as i have before from the niv, i know we can change it once its posted for our own preference. So i went and found this link Jesus-is-savior.com/bible/NIV/niv-deletes-verses.htm. Did you know the niv deletes over 64,000 words, over 40 verses in all. Sorry if what i posted is hard to read, i'm not good at spelling, puntuation, separating paragraphs, it was just some thing i felt was worth sharing, thanks for not being critical.

A well thought one at that we can still share we all here have internet and can have bible scriptures at our finger tips and can look em all up in the differant versions and God still teaches us truth now watch this differant interpretations of the same verse
NIV New Interantional version

Galatians 6:8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

[h=3]Galatians 6:8[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

[h=3]Galatians 6:8[/h]The Message (MSG)

[SUP]7-8 [/SUP]Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

Now there are mnay a translations but notice one thing differant in the NIV and the King James

NIV. Galatians 6:8
Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction
[h=3]Galatians 6:8[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption

How many here sow ever to please our flesh none a few a lot or what? I know if one believes they do not sow to please their flesh yet somehow continue to reap flesh while not wanting to

but the KJV states
no matter waht whether you want to please flesh or not just sow to it (think about it long enough) and guess what James confirms this
James 1:15
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Just continue to try and stop sin and guess what and also just do not seek to be aware of like a serpent and be trapped as well producing sin in a split second as happens to us all, not seeing how we can react with such anger in a split second usually behind closed doors to our better half and or children.
Again we all can learn from one another using scripture fom any interpretation handing it over to God and seeing other interpretations from the internet at a split second or slower depending on our connections and how fast our own computers are I have four differtant sites that come up at once so I can go over to the other sites punch in words and our scripture verses from memory and copy and pace back here
Anyway I thought this was a good idea and my preferance is not really any, but the best I have ever learned from is the Living Bible Paraphrased, but I have studied many versions, and the reason is I just plainly desire to know truth and along the way have made many error and everytime I was made aware of the error. I started back at the begining and got rid of that error in order to be set free as the word says the truth will set one free. So everytime I was still in bondage I came to realize that there was error in my truth and needed to re-think the truth that I had latched onto in order to not be in bondage anylonger and share that with all that have or are in the same in bondage wanting the truth that sets them free to do waht is right in the Lord by Trust in the Lord is the only way I found this to be true

The problem is that there are quite a few KJV-Onlyists on CC, so we wouldn't be able to please everyone. Many seem to like the NLT though.

I truly love the KJV, but I have to remind myself that I grew up with preachers who would preach as best they could in OE, and people today just don't do that. I am perfectly happy to use any other version of the Word. The reason I brought it up is because reading one of my own posts with a cut and paste from the KJV, I realized just how difficult to understand it must be for many who are, by now, brought up with a more modern language translation. If it lends to better understanding for all, I would use another translation lickity split!
