Ever heard this scripture?
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it.

There are over 2 billion Christians walking the planet today. That is roughly 1 third of the earth. That is quite A FEW isn't it?

[SUP]15 [/SUP]Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

[SUP]19[/SUP]Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
(warning)

[SUP]20 [/SUP]Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

[SUP]21[/SUP]Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

"this next part is equally as tragic. "

[SUP]22 [/SUP]Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

I believe this all comes down to the new wine being poured into a new wine skin. We can't be born of the Spirit and care for the things of the flesh. Again where our heart is so shall our treasure be. We are born again, we were children of the first Adam (flesh) now we are made new (Spirit). We can't serve both mammon and God. The list goes on and on and on.

Again just a recap. "Narrow is the way which leads to life."
1 third of the planet believes it is saved.
Just think about it.

Don't forget just because they call themselves Christians, it doesn't make it so :) The determining factor would be the fruit-makers who demonstrate their faith every day. :)

There are a lot of friends of this world out there saying they are Christians

The gate is narrow and few there be that find it.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

That is one way of telling who is a real Christian, by their friendship of this world. But even then it’s hard to tell for sure, look at Paul

1 Corinthians 15:9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

Great post.

In essence, salvation is not merely a mental accent of God or faith that only amounts to lip service. It's about having genuine faith that works by love (James 2:17) so we ought to lay aside every encumbrance through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit and live in total reliance on Him who is the sustainer of our faith.
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven" (Matt 7:21). "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" (Heb 5:9). "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Heb 12:14).:)

There is only ONE 'fruit maker' (singular) and it isn't man.
