I felt to need to post this because i see a lot of confusion on this topic. I think a lot of people are confused because there is a lot of false doctrine out there today. I have had someone ask me how can every domination out there be right and if people are teaching different things about salvation how can everyone be right?

The answer to me is very simple according to the bible not everyone out there is right only the people who do the fathers will, will be saved.

Matthew 7:21-27
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
[SUP]25 [/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
[SUP]27 [/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Also, the bible says that scripture is of no private interpretation so according to the scriptures it is not OK for people to be teaching different doctrines.

2 Peter 20:21
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The bible always stresses oneness and unity and you cannot have this with denominations and people teaching different doctrines

Ephesians 4:4-6

[SUP]4 [/SUP]There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
[SUP]5 [/SUP]One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
[SUP]6 [/SUP]One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

This is the prayer the night before Jesus died and Jesus is praying for oneness and unity but yet a lot of the world believes it is OK do and teach whatever you like as long as you believe in Jesus. Is this what the scriptures say on the subject?

John 17:20-23

[SUP]20 [/SUP]Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
[SUP]21 [/SUP]That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
[SUP]23 [/SUP]I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Now on to the main question is baptism essential for salvation?

The whole book of Luke 24 needs to read to fully understand this:

24 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
[SUP]6 [/SUP]He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And they remembered his words,
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
[SUP]19 [/SUP]And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
[SUP]20 [/SUP]And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
[SUP]26 [/SUP]Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
[SUP]27 [/SUP]And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
[SUP]31 [/SUP]And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
[SUP]32 [/SUP]And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
[SUP]33 [/SUP]And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
[SUP]34 [/SUP]Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
[SUP]35 [/SUP]And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
[SUP]36 [/SUP]And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
[SUP]37 [/SUP]But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
[SUP]38 [/SUP]And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
[SUP]39 [/SUP]Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
[SUP]42 [/SUP]And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
[SUP]43 [/SUP]And he took it, and did eat before them.
[SUP]44 [/SUP]And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
[SUP]45 [/SUP]Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
[SUP]46 [/SUP]And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
[SUP]47 [/SUP]And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
[SUP]48 [/SUP]And ye are witnesses of these things.
[SUP]49 [/SUP]And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
[SUP]50 [/SUP]And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
[SUP]51 [/SUP]And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
[SUP]52 [/SUP]And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
[SUP]53 [/SUP]And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Please keep the highlighted portion of the scripture in mind as I go on. This was the story after Jesus being raised from the dead the apostles were told in verse 47 of luke 24 that that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Please keep in mind that there are no christians walking the earth until this occurs in luke 24 verse 47

What is being talking about occurs in Acts 2 on the day of pentecost

2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

Notice that every one is dwelling in Jerusalem just as taught in luke 24 verse 47

Then if you go down to starting in Acts 2 verse 38 you will see that remission of sins is being taught:

[SUP]38 [/SUP]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as theLord our God shall call.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
[SUP]42 [/SUP]And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

1 Corinthians 12:13 says:

[SUP]13 [/SUP]For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Galations 3:27 says:
[SUP]27 [/SUP]For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

So according to scripture one must repent and be baptized to be saved.

A common argument i always hear is what about the thief on the cross he was not baptized. The answer is very simple. The thief on the cross was under the old testament and Jesus had not died yet. The command to be baptized had not been given till Acts chapter 2. How could the thief obey something that had not happened yet?? Also there was not a single christian walking the earth until after the day of pentecost.

Acts 11:26
[SUP]26 [/SUP]And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Mark 2:9-11 The second thing is the bible says Jesus had to power to forgive sins while he was on the earth

[SUP]9 [/SUP]Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
[SUP]10 [/SUP]But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
[SUP]11 [/SUP]I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

Luke 23: 39-43 Lastly it appears the thief already new and believed in Jesus and was just asking for forgiveness

[SUP]39 [/SUP]And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
[SUP]41 [/SUP]And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
[SUP]42 [/SUP]And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
[SUP]43 [/SUP]And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

I would really like people to read their bibles because the false doctrine of praying Jesus into your heart or Just believing is not what the bible teaches remember

James 2:14-1 Remember even the devils believe

[SUP]14 [/SUP]What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
[SUP]15 [/SUP]If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Baptism means cleansed. John didn't know how to cleansed the spiritual souls, but he had did the cleansing ritual of the physical nature by washing the physical soul and which we consider it to be our physical body; but there's going to be someone that can cleanse our spiritual soul from our sinful nature. But we all had tried to cleansed ourselve in the elementary way as John had did; but we matured from that.

water baptism can not clean the spiritual body. Only Spirit baptism can.

scripture teaches this, it also warns those who try to replace the work of God with the work of men. if you think water baptism will save you, you reject the spiritual baptism which is the only baptism which can save you. and i fear for your eternal soul.

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast".

I don't see faith + water baptism in that passage.
Salvation is by God's unmerited favour alone through faith and water baptism typically follows in obedience to God after salvation.

You are right it isn't the water that saves you it is the being obedient to what Jesus says to be saved. He said repent and be baptized. This verse is most definitely talking about water baptism read the context of the verse and look in the greek. Also, baptism is not a work it is an act of obedience to what God commanded.

Baptism is no more a work than believing in Jesus, repenting like Jesus commands or confessing Jesus as Lord and when you are baptized you are not doing anything someone baptizes you.

There are plenty of verses that says belief only, there are verses that say repent only and there are verses that say confess Jesus and you will be saved and there are verses that are most definitely talking and say water baptism but yet everyone would agree that you
need to agree you need to believe in Jesus and repent of your sins and confess Jesus. You have to take the whole of the bible not just pick a verse here and there.

ONELORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BABTISM
EPHESIANS4:5
One Lord,
WE have three don’t we: Jesus, The Holy Ghost and the Father. Ithought there is only one God. Yet we see three manifestations of the same God.How can this be? Let me give you a physical analogy rather analogies:
Water is one, yet there are three manifestations of water. There areice and steam as well. This is three in one.
An egg is another; look at an egg, there are three parts to the egg, ASchell (Jesus), a white (Holy Ghost) and a yoke (the Father of all) it takesall three to make the egg, and it takes all three to know the Father of all.
A Cherry Pie: You can cut it in three distinct slices and the fillingjust flows right back together, so get the filling of all three and we now knowthe Spiritual reality of God the Son, God the Holy Ghost, and God the Father.
One Faith,
What is Faith is the first question? Can I have faith in my spouse, inmy teacher, in my friend and or friends, my pastor of my church? Your answermight be yes, but is this smart to put faith in another human since you arehuman as well? You see we all have many faiths in someone or maybe something, asuperstition, a tradition and so on.
Now tell me if I told you that swallowing enables you to live for oneneeds to eat right? And if you put faith in me, you belief me, well thenbrother, sister you just allowed me to feed you poison and once you swallow ityour dead, and this was through faith in that swallowing would keep you alive.
You see brothers and sisters’ swallowing is not the mechanism thatenables you to live, IT IS WHAT YOU SWALLOW. So now look it is not faith that enables you to live it is what you havefaith in. You can have faith in anything here on earth and not one thing hereon earth will enable you to live forever.
There is only one faith and only one object of one’s faith and that isChrist Jesus unto the Holy Ghost living in you, thus you seeing the Father ofall through the other two, translated through this one faith. So please takeyour faith out of this world, for it shall be destroyed.
The big issue: one Baptism;
In the Old Testament, the priest as he went into the holies of holiescarrying the sins of others and his own sins, had to be baptized in waterbefore going on into the holy of holies, beyond the curtain and with a rope incase the priest died while in there, if he was found unclean then others couldpull him out of the holy of holies. There was also a prophet’s prediction of a forerunner before Jesus wasto show. This was Elijah, and Elijah did show, he was John the Baptist, who hadthe Spirit of Elijah, but the leaders of that day did not recognize him for allthey saw was physically, not spiritually.
Now John the Baptist started baptizing in the Jordan, waiting for theMessiah to show up so The Messiah could be announced filling the Old Testamentpractices and predictions of being baptized before entering the holy of holies. So Christ was baptized and water baptism was now over John’s job was done, heannounced the Savior has now arrived. He saw the dove descend on Jesus’sshoulder.
So now read and find were John told the people that he only baptizedwith water, but Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and with fire. John stateshe must now decrease and Christ must increase. But to this day we the peoplehave stuck to traditions using acts to verify water baptism to get a gift aswell as receive the Holy Ghost, but we never talk about the fire, only the gift, and all gifts will pass away. Now this water baptism today is used to become amember of a certain church and then you will be saved. But the other churchdown the block says no you are not saved unless you get water baptized in theirchurch.
There is only one baptism people, one and it is from Jesus after hisascension when 10 days later the disciples received the Holy Ghost and spoke inother languages of the people that were there that day, and told them aboutChrist, his resurrection, his forgiveness, and ascension they spoke in thosepeoples languages, that the disciples did not know how to speak. It was fortheir edification. It was not for the way it is used today, except for edifyingthe body, and for it to be understood by the rest of the people there as it wasin the day of Pentecost.
The one baptism that actually is real is the baptism of the Holy ghostthe day you first believed read it Ephesians 1:1-13, you were sealed by Godwith the Holy Spirit of promise. Since you are sealed by God, the seal cannotbe broken, nor anyone else. Yet some people are good at deception and cause youto think a certain way and capsulate you into their way of thinking, and thenyou are swallowing poison, you know the rest, wrote before in a few words.
This baptism now is also with fire. The fires purpose is to burn outfleshly goodness you think you have from this world and its traps to deceiveand make you a good little puppet. Do not get me wrong here, I am not sayingbecome lawless, rather through this fiery baptism you are able to obey thelaw(s) by the Holy Ghost that has made you forever perfect in the Fatherssight. No stress, this is true rest, for now you can work hard (not hardly),with a joy that s everlasting.
Seek ye the kingdom of God first and foremost and all ones needs shallbe supplied. This is the peace beyond all understanding, that one is righteous, when even in adversity counts it all joy, knowing God has got them covered, whether going home to God or staying here a little while longer to help thebrethren come to see the truth the truth that set one free.
Sincerely Yours through Christ’s finished work at the cross, 3 dayslater the resurrection, then the ascension in order to supply us the believerswith the Holy Ghost, the one and same Holy Ghost that led Jesus through hisministry of reconciliation. Now leadingall of you who belief, now practice this daily until it is you. Practice makeshabit, habit characteristic, and characteristic trait.

There is only one baptism. The sign of accepting this is being transformed by renewing of the mind. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.

There are millions of people who have never and will never be dipped. All men however is appointed to die once. No matter how you slice it, there is ONE sign given to this generation. That He would be in the heart of the earth or dead3 days and 3 nights.

The bible disagrees we all know about baptism by water but it also talks about baptism by fire.
john'sbaptism was for repentance of sin's not for washing any of them away. Jesus'sbaptism with the Holy Ghost with fire is for the remission of sins, thereconciliation from the Father through the death of the Son. our redemption ofchrist and by Christ from the Father of Christ to all that believe
2Corinthians 5:18
And allthings are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hathgiven to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Corinthians 5:19
To wit, thatGod was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing theirtrespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Hebrews 2:17
Wherefore inall things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be amerciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to makereconciliation for the sins of the people.
Romans 3:24
Beingjustified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 8:23
And not onlythey, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even weourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, theredemption of our body.
1Corinthians 1:30
But of himare ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Ephesians1:7
In whom wehave redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to theriches of his grace;
Ephesians1:14
Which is theearnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Ephesians4:30
And grievenot the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Colossians1:14
In whom wehave redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Hebrews 9:12
Neither bythe blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into theholy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebrews 9:15
And for thiscause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for theredemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, theywhich are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Ask to becalled and recieve this amazing Mercy in and through the cross, god himselfwill show you truth and set you free while still in adversity, you will be abletolive above your circumstances

My thoughts on this are simple.
After the death of Christ every single person mentioned in the Bible who comes to Christ is baptised.
No little sprinkles of water either on the forehead either. Baptism means submersion in water.

People were expected to understand the gospel before they were baptised.

So the baptism of babies is just nonsense.

You sure that everyone who was saved was baptised after christ death?
