Will a specific person known as THE antichrist set up a one world religion?

Simple question.
Is there a future antichrist who will set up a one world religion?
You can't wiggle out of this by saying, "Well technically, he would be anti Christ."
Specifically does the Bible mention, someone known specifically as THE antichrist who will set up a one world religion?

I did a search for all verses which use the term antichrist.
Here they are.
None of them mention a one world religion being set up by someone known as antichrist.


1 John 2

I'm not sure... alot of Christians from different backgrounds speculate on this sort of thing.. I've heard everything from the anti-Christ being someone from Europe who will rule the world, to what the JW's think which is that the anti-Christ will not be a person at all.

I'm not sure what the answer is- perhaps it won't be too relevant to our salvation and so it's not something we should worry about too much. If you really care though I'm sure prayer and open minded non-bias Bible study would help.

I was going to ignore this post until I saw who wrote it. Then I realized it was not going to be another post fingering the exact person who IS the antichrist, right now in the world.

John has a LOT to say about this in his letters. You have already quoted the key passages.

Referring back to your post, I would have to say that an "antichrist" is literally someone who is against (anti) Christ. That means anyone who does not believe.

So where on earth do people get these mixed eschatologies that it will be one man, at the end times? Which may or may not be now!

Thanks for putting out those verses. I knew I did not believe that there would be AN antichrist. Now I know why, because of what the Bible says!

Nope. But a specific person know as the "Man of Sin" and alternately as the False Prophet just might.

The bible refers to antichrist as anyone who rejects christ..... what your talkin about is the man refferd to in 2 thesolonians the bible calls him the man of lawlessness an the son of destruction who will be against everything of God this is who most speak of when they swy antichrist an the bible does refer to him as a man an not a goverment... idk exactly what the bible swys about a one world religion id hwve to look it up.

Quite simply The Antichrist will be seen by all religions as their prophet, messiah and whatever else, theres a lot of theories how this can come about, but a good one would be that this Anti-Christ will create true peace in middle east, he will get the Palestinians thier own state with Jerusalem as their capital, in exchange Israel will give up that claim in exchange to build their temple, we know from the prophecy that the Anti-Christ will be seen as The Messiah by the Jews and this is a good way to go for obtaining this recognition.

In a way he will unite everyone to worship him and we will see that all religions are correct in a way. Apart from genuine beleivers in Christ, who will be deemed dangerous extremists who need to be destroyed.

This is what happens when people blend conspiracy theories with Christianity. Basically...baptized conspiracy which people end up interpreting and accepting as a doctrine later on. Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins did not help but escalate the beliefs with the Left Behind series. (good for entertainment...but in terms of theology? absolutely not)

In order to get a clear picture of who the antichrist is, one needs to study both the Book of Daniel & The book of Revelation. But God does gives us nine characteristics of Antichrist in Daniel chapter 7 so we can be certain of his identity. Some of these truths will be painful to some, but, nevertheless we are to accept God truth as it is revealed.

1. The "little horn" or kingdom "came up among then"---the 10 horns which were the kingdoms of of Western Europe
(Daniel 7:8). So it would be a little kingdom somewhere in Western Europe.

2. It would have a man at it's head who could speak for it. (Daniel 7:8)

3. It would pluck up or uproot three kingdoms. (Daniel 7:8)

4. It would be "diverse" or different from the other 10 kingdoms. ( Daniel 7:24)

5. It would make war with and "wear out" or persecute the Saints. (Daniel 7:7,8)

6. It would emerge from the pagan Roman empire---the fourth world kingdom. (Daniel 7:7,8)

7. God's people (the saints) would "be given into his hand" for a time and times and the dividing of time." (Daniel 7:25)

8. It would "speak great words against" or blaspheme God (Daniel 7;25)

9. It would "think to change time and law." (Daniel 7:25)

Those are the nine characteristics of the Antichrist as Gods Bible gives them. Those points are not opinion or speculation.

Personally, I believe those nine characteristcs can point to only one source. But, let's further examine each of those nine points:

a. The geographical location of the Papal power was in Rome, Italy. That is the very heart of Western Europe.

b. The Papacy meets this identifying characteristic. It has a man that speaks for it,, the Pope.

c. Three arian kingdoms did not support the Papacy. They were the Ostrogoths, Vandals, and Heruli kingdoms. All were
uprooted.

d. The papacy is indeed "diverse" and is seen as a "religious power" and was totally different from the other 10 secular
kingdoms.

e. There is no doubt that the Church of Rome did persecute millions over religious conviction.

f. it did emerge from the 4th kingdom- the pagan Roman Empire. It is a continuation of that empire.

g. This point needs some background work,, I will explain if need. 3 1/2 years = 42 months = 1260 days.

h. Blasphemy has 2 definitions: one is claiming to forgive sin. The other is claiming to be God. The pope
claims to forgive sin and accepts the Title "Holy Father".

g. The church of Rome admits to changing Gods Sabbath from the 7th day to the 1st. They did so as a Mark of her
universal power. "he shall think to change times and laws". The church of Rome has torn out the 2nd command
changed the 4th (Sabbath). And took the 10th Commandment and slpit it making two out of it. They did that, because
after they tore out the 2nd Commandment ( Idol worship) they were left with only nine. So splitting the 10th
restored the Ten Commandments to the proper number,,, 10.

Folks usually think the term "antichrist" means to be "against". But in "Antichrist" it means "in place of" or "instead of". The Antichrist is guilty of assuming the Perogatives of God!!!

Hope this doesn't upset folks too bad. If we love Jesus and the Truth, we will follow it wherever it leads.

There's many antichrists and which anti means oppose. Religion could also means a person belief system, like if a person believe that it is good to eat four meals in a day. Then there is some that goes around distorting someone elses belief system (in which they are against) into what they believe in. You have to be aware of those who plots ( who does things in secret) against others, for they are being conniving and this person is very dangerous for someone to be associating with. The ones that has the spirits of the antichrist know where to go to in order to deceive many souls. The churches has already been taken over by this spirit. The doctrines that they're preaching is luring a lot of people away from God to serve themselves. People are becoming even more selfish than they ever been before. the churches are trainning the people how to witch hunt and how to go in someone closet to unveil someones nakeness which only the that able to to that is God Himself. But Christ is here to cover the shame( for the ones that has obeyed Him) from God .

Mark 3:6Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.

O.k.

Don't get mad if I interpose social and economic verses. Because the key to the beast (soulless) system is based on commerce.
It is because the love of money is the root of all evil(commerce), and Lucifer controls the kingdoms of the earth(social).
If you need scriptures I will reference them for you. - (But I'm sure you already know them).

Without going into depth, you can see that churches have become corporations.(in America its 501C3)
And need we look any further than the televangelists. Whose most strident call isn't to the altar, but to purchase the latest 'love gift' for a certain amount of lucre.

Just a start,.........(I don't want to get any more into how those two previous examples mix commerce and religion,)

there are many videos on youtube that will explain and break down the history of how this is to come about....All scriptural based.. and Holy Spirit approved or disapproved. from what I learned so far that it will not be One person who will set up the one world order/religion. it will and as we live and breathe today is being set up. It is called ECUMENISM... A movement promoting worldwide unity among religions through greater cooperation and improved understanding ( the free dictionary).

So we need to be careful who we try to walk in agreement with.. even if they are against the same things we are... but this is not waiting for the revealing of the son of perdition.... it is ushering him, preparing the people to receive him and worship him... he will speak of things that has already happened and things he will keep going... the devil have the religious people, and the governments (kingdoms) to come together for "ONE COMMON GOAL" and no matter what your religion is if you are in agreement with the devil even if what he say sound good and worth following.... you will take part in his opposition to the Lord our God... because he will make many believe he is God, and therefore you will be a worshiper of his by following his false doctrine and blasphemy against our Father God. I know that the antichrist " the son of perdition" will not form the one world religion, he is DOING IT NOW through all false prophets, teachers, pastors, religion, governments, the United Nations, the secret societies, and many more organizations.

Dr. Zacharias’ prayer can be read here [page not found]. A receptionist with the National Day of Prayer in Colorado Springs stated that the Honorary Chairman’s prayer does not include the name of Jesus so as not to offend.....
