I just checked webster and his definitions of "imminent", they are many, The first one is:"ready to take place" you people just prove that the rapture of the church has not been "ready to take place" for 2,000yrs , There are stills souls to be saved. But I agree it is getting very close. Websters other meanings are more in line with the Bible. "coming", "impending", "inevitable", "unavoidable". I think we could all agree with these 4 last definitions. I do. This brings to mind two words in Revelation. Rev.1:1 "shortly" Somethings that in Rev. took place in John's day and following John's day."shortly". John saw Christ and wrote letters to 7 churches, and John was taken to Heaven and saw the present day ,his day, worship in Heaven. the 24 elders represented the saved of Israel and the saved of today's church, 6,000 yrs of church history: I believe the Church of God started with Adam and Eve, not just after Pentecost, Pentecost just began the last dispensation of the Church of God. The word "Church" unifies the whole Bible. THEN, comes "shortly" the opening of the seals, church and world history after John's day, up to the rapture at Rev.6:12, the last, 7th, 1,000yrs, will be Jesus reign on earth. This sequence of events fits Rev. best. The other word regarding , as to, action is "Quickly" Jesus' coming will be in a quick manner, not soon. Rev.21:12 "..behold I am coming quickly" But not "shortly" nor "imminently" But, today, I think,Jesus will return very soon. AMEN ?! Hoffco
