I'm not talking some hokey Jehovah's witness gobbly-guck.
This is something I'm really wrestling with and could use some input on.

What are some things we can do on a daily basis to bring God's kingdom into this world, and bring about transformative change so things in our sphere of influence are closer to conforming to God?

God has a plan for that. All we have to do is listen to his voice and obey, don’t you think?

The other thing that came to mind was setting a good example for others.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. [SUP]35 [/SUP]For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, [SUP]36 [/SUP]I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’[SUP]37 [/SUP]Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? [SUP]38 [/SUP]And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? [SUP]39 [/SUP]And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ [SUP]40 [/SUP]And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’" Matt. 25:24-40

"And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Go therefore andmake disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,[SUP]20 [/SUP]teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matt. 28:18-20

"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.[SUP]9 [/SUP]What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you." Phil. 4:7-9

earnestly seek the spiritual gifts. the holy spirit lives in us already so might as well live in him as he lives in us. there is no method, no step by step. there is just BE.

Mat 5: 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Kingdom of God will be in the middle of people who are poor in spirit, who mourn for the present situation, who are meek in suffering opposition, who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness, who are merciful toward others, who are pure in heart, who make peace, who suffer persecution for righteousness, and who are reproached and evilly spoken of because of the Lord.

The above 9 things will bring God's kingdom into this world. Can we practice this?

Today's church has it down pat, to be, to hide in Christ, to follow the Holy Spirit. It is like someone going on a trip says just get in the car without any instructions about driving the car.

In the OT there is a lot about what to do, many people focused on that rather than all it said about involving God, the heart, the mind. In the NT is a lot about the heart and mind, and not so much about doing so people focus on that and not the scripture about doing. Anytime posters start talking about law, faith, works, grace it becomes a mess of heated opinions.

The kingdom of God includes all of these. We can be excited about the HS within us and glory in the understanding that brings, in how we can go to Christ for cleaning, in the faith we have, in the grace we are given, but we can't walk in the narrow road we are told about without obedience, also.

Everything the others have said is good.

Plus, don't be afraid to share your witness. - To speak in season and out of season (church, supermarket, street corner, etc.)

Getting over one's own 'imperfectness' is big.

Not waiting until you are perfect, or have all the answers.

Just living out for God, (for the gospel of Jesus Christ).

He gives us the words to speak.

Preach the cross. It is the only way.

Also praying.

It is the prayer's of the saints that are holding judgement back.

The small are great in the Father's eyes. - The great in this world(?), ......not so much.

I agree praying is essential. But, preaching the cross is the power of God. Romans..

I live in the Kingdom of God.

I know this really stresses out people who continually tell me the Kingdom of God isn't here yet. To be honest, I entered into God's kingdom without even realizing it. I didn't know what it was and it wasn't something I was trying to do. What I was trying to do is love one person. Her name is Alecia. It was mid October, several years ago...like 9 or 10 years ago, I would have to think about it to be able to share exactly what year. I recognized (finally) that I could not Love anyone without God's power because I desperately wanted to love perfectly just as God loved me.

"This is something I'm really wrestling with and could use some input on.
What are some things we can do on a daily basis to bring God's kingdom into this world, and bring about transformative change so things in our sphere of influence are closer to conforming to God? "

It helps first of all to understand what the Kingdom of God is. It can not be brought into this world. I live in the kingdom of God because the Kingdom of God is within me. The entirety of the new testament is all about the Kingdom of God. What we call the gospel or the good news, is all about the kingdom of God.

Just to begin, [h=3]Luke 4:42-44 [SUP]42 [/SUP]At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. [SUP]43 [/SUP]But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” [SUP]44 [/SUP]And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea.

Why Was Jesus sent? We can go through scripture both old testament and new and answer this question. There are hundreds of answers. Each of these answers pertains to what the kingdom of God is. Every reason Jesus was sent is a proclamation of the good news of the Kingdom of God.

It is a kingdom that can not be seen but can be "seen."
Luke 17:20 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, [SUP]21 [/SUP]nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.” (this is a poor translation. the correct translation is, "the kingdom of God is within you")
John 3:3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
Mark 9:1 And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”

Just for simplification: The coming of the kingdom of God " is not something that can be observed, nor will someone say here it is or there it is" It can only be seen if one is born again, it is "within" and people that were alive as Jesus preached SAW the kingdom of God come with power.

Just a couple more verses:

1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

When you understand the kingdom of God is living in the Holy spirit and the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [SUP] [/SUP]gentleness and self-control it becomes obvious it is very difficult for any of us to preach the good news of the Kingdom of God if we are not members living in God's kingdom.

We have to be born again to enter into the Kingdom of God. NO one can enter unless we enter as little children. This means we must be humble and teachable and continually seeking the truth.

1still waters, I am certain that God is very pleased with you that you are indeed seeking and struggling to understand. Do not struggle. There are various terms that describe the kingdom of God. Kingdom of heaven, the kingdom, my Father's kingdom, kingdom of our father David, his kingdom, your kingdom, a kingdom, kingdom of Christ and of God, kingdom of light, kingdom of the son, heavenly kingdom...I am probably missing a few.

Go to your favorite concordance. Look up the word Kingdom. There are 200-300 verses. Most of the new testament verses discuss the Kingdom of God some of the old testament ones do.
When God led me to this study I searched every verse pertaining to the Kingdom of God and read the context of each verse. The combination of all of these verses explain exactly what God's kingdom is. This is how God showed me and gave me understanding not only of what His kingdom is but also that entering into it is what happened to me that changed my life forever and blessed me with riches of God's blessings and power so I could understand and practice love and seek and save the lost.

I do hope this helps all of you who read it. It is not a testimony about me. I testify to you that I am a sinner. I testify to you about God that He keeps his promises and lifts up all who seek His power to do His will.

Your servant in Christ
Joey

i agree with the thread essentially except for the wording or perhaps what i think is a lack of clarity in the explanation. satan was the god of this world i e it was his kingdom. when Jesus victoriously overthrew satan by His death and resurrection this world became Christ's kingdom. but Jesus didn"t immediately take full control of the earthly realm so satan and his demons were not entirely put out of the way. similar to the japanese soldier found on guam that for 30 years didn't know the war was over and lived in the jungle fighting as if the war were still on. we who follow Jesus have accepted His rule and continue the fight against a defeated foe as they too don't realize they no longer have any hope of victory. we have become citizens of the kingdom which has been established but still have stragglers to get out of the way. the kingdom is within us because we are legitimate citizens of that kingdom. the the Holy Spirit is our identification as citizens of the kingdom. we are obedient to the laws of that kingdom because we are it's citizen's and we have full assurance that we will soon be in full possession of that kingdom as we wage our warfare wearing the full armor of God which is the uniform of those fighting the good fight against the enemies of that kingdom which are the principalities and powers etc of darkness. i haven't said this as well as i would have liked. i hope it helps.

The entire sermon on the mount describes exactly what God's kingdom is like. If you can do anything Jesus said to do in that message you will be bringing Heaven to earth. You should be careful. Satan doesn't like it when that happes.

2 Peter 3:11: "Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12. looking for the and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13. Nevertheless we, according to His Promise, look for a new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 14. Therefore beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless...18. but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

Work on being ready and eagerly wait and anticipate His coming.

What are some things we can do on a daily basis to bring God's kingdom into this world, and bring about transformative change so things in our sphere of influence are closer to conforming to God?
1. Pray, know and trust in God's promises.

2. live a holy life and by your actions reveal your faith and trust in God

3. pray before speaking and do not allow profane words to leave your mouth.

4. find ways to bring God into your conversation and discuss the Bible with those who are willing to listen.

5. If you give others presents include Bible verses in the card or the present.

6. ask others to pray for you when you feel weak because it helps strengthen not only your faith but theirs.

7. Forgive everyone their trespasses daily. Give it to God before going to bed. Do not go to sleep angry or hold grudges but trust in God that justice will happen. Start each day with love in your hearts for those you will meet and encounter.

Romans 8
[SUP]26 [/SUP]Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us[SUP][b][/SUP] with groanings which cannot be uttered. [SUP]27 [/SUP]Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
