True believers are alive in Christ (saved), all others are spiritually dead, and its these "dead" who will be judged in a negative sense. At the 7th trump, those alive in Christ, who's names are written in the Lambs Book of Life, will take part in the first resurrection; "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power" (Revelation 20:6).

So for Christians, its important to understand that; "Their works do follow them" (Revelation 14:13). Its not a judgement of condemnation, but of reward; "Thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints (us), and them that fear thy name, small and great" (Revelation 11:18). Therefore, our judgement is according to our righteous works; "My reward is with me, to give every man (person) according as his work shall be" (Revelation 22:12).

Then comes the second resurrection after the millennium, and what's called the Great White Throne judgement, where the dead are judged by their works (Rev 20:11-14). That's for those still outside of Christ, whoever was "Not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:15).

Thank you sir for your post. This is a very good scripture you have brought up.
Judging ourselves has to do with repenting and confessing our sins that we should not be judged.
And it is clear that the judgement spoken here has to do with the chastening of the lord, not eternal condemnation along with the world.
The chastening of the lord is of course temporal, without eternal consequences.
In what ways are we chastened by God and by what means does He use?
Though we be redeemed from the curse of the law, and are free from the law of sin and death, we, God's children are judged in this world, in this life, not in the after life.
So what kind of judgements does God put on His child?

That does not follow from scripture.

Simply put....the Righteous are NOT judged at all....zero...

The Righteous do not need to be judged because they have already accepted the Triune God as their Savior.

The unrighteous, however, ARE judged...and they are judged with the only thing left....their works...

Again and again, the Holy Bible declares that it is the unrighteous, the ones not loving The Truth (Jesus), are the ones NOT being saved and the ones that ARE being judged...

2 Thessalonians 2.10 - 12

and in all deceit of unrighteousness in those being lost, because they did not receive the love of the truth in order for them to be saved. And because of this, God will send to them a working of error, for them tobelieve the lie, that all may be judged, those not believing the truth, but who have delighted in unrighteousness.

please understand my question before you answer

So i've read that we are judged, on Judgement Day, by our Works. Yet we are saved through God's graceful gift of salvation through faith.
So where does "doing works" establish itself in the role of salvation?

I understand that we are supposed to BE Christ-like and BE perfect (just like our Father) but why does he Judge us if we are already saved?

for example:

my friend says hes a "bad christian" because he has never "saved somebody" (i know only jesus can save, but the point in the example is to say that he has never sowed a seed of truth in to somebodies life)

So he says hes a bad christian because he has never done good works for the Lord. yet, helives his life for god and hes faithful and he knows jesus is lord. HE is rewarded with the holy spirit because of this faith he has. if he dies right now, he would not go to hell.

whats the point in him being judged if he knows jesus is lord?
Judgement day for those that do not believe. Those that are born again should already taste and feel the Kingdom of God. They should already be in it.

Judgement is for not believing in Jesus Christ and our not coming to his calling. Disobeying. Believe/Faith that he is the Christ. Doing your own thing in life with out his consent/our own will set us far apart from him. Jesus/Bible is like a movie script that we are to follow in our hearts. First ask God to let you understand the bible without this you will never understand it. I tried for soooo many years and I couldn't understand it until I heard I need to ask him just like Solomon. He asked for wisdom and understanding. I did too!!! Each person on their own could never do what he did. But if we stop trying and get out of our own way you can ask our Father in Heaven for his will in us. That is when your believing all starts to change and understanding will start. After you read this ssk him for an understanding heart so is sinks in there for 3 days. Nothing is impossible for God. If you ask, believe/have faith he will show the truth to you!
BIBLE = BASIC, INSTRUCTIONS, BEFORE LEAVING EARTH
God Bless You and Your Family!

Thing is, everyone is so worried about being judged later on, but most forget the judgement that already took place. Out of love and mercy, Christ was judged and condemned for us. Who we were, was already judged by God on that cross. But we're dead to that. And we are now alive in Christ. If a person is really saved through grace, then why should they worry about the judgement day? I won't be taking part in it because I was already judges in Christ's body, 2000 years ago. Now, I shall rejoice. Rejoice in the Lord always!

God bless you all :)

This is taken from a larger work:

HOW WILL WE BE JUDGED?

We’ve seen prior to Jesus’ return the events by which the world will be judged, and that we will take part in it. But it’s not just that earthly judgment we have to be concerned with. In Revelation 11, where we heard the 7th trumpet sound, those around God’s throne proclaim that the time has come for Him to rule and judge the saints. That’s us. And that’s a whole separate judgment. The tribulation events are an earthly phenomenon, occurring before His return; judging the saints is spiritual and comes after He gathers us. So how then will we be judged?

Jesus likened this judgment as to when a man going on a journey called his servants together and gave them each some money to look after. When he returned he found that two had wisely invested the monies to earn more. He was proud of them and put them in charge over parts of his estate. But a third servant had only hid his, returning no more than what he had been given. The man scolded this servant and cast him out, calling him unfaithful. "To whom much is given, much will be required” Jesus said[1].

This is pretty clear and logical. We will be called to account for how we use what He gives us. The productive servant will be rewarded, and the unproductive is ‘cast out’.

Jesus had earlier likened our entrance into His Kingdom as to when a king threw a feast and those he invited were too busy to respond[2]. So the king opened the doors and took in anyone who would come, filled the place and the feast began. Those who had been invited came at their leisure, only to find themselves tossed out and the door shut in their face.

Jesus later expanded on this by telling of 10 ‘virgins’ (using a term that references wedding attendants) with lamps who went out to wait for a bridegroom[3]. The groom was delayed and the attendants went to sleep. Late at night they were awakened by the bridegroom’s coming. Turning up their lamps to receive him, half of them were out of oil and had to go find some. While they were gone, the groom arrived and took the others into the wedding feast. When the five without oil returned later, they found themselves denied entrance and shut out.

There’s a recurring theme here. We are accountable for how we use what He gives us; The prudent enter into a feast, and the ‘tardy’ are shut out.

Paul described our judgment[4], where he says we will give an account of our lives to God and receive good or bad for our works. Paul explained to the Corinthians[5] that those who founded their faith in Jesus build upon that foundation by the works they do, whether good (represented by silver and gold) or bad (wood and straw). On the day of judgment these works will be tested by fire, and those whose work is not burnt up will be rewarded, while those whose work is burned away will suffer a loss. But they will be saved, as though "through the fire” Paul says.

As though thru the fire. What does that mean?

When Jesus returns and takes us up He will host a feast, a wedding feast to be exact and we’ll look at that in a bit. The point is when He returns, those He finds faithfully responsive will enter in with Him to this feast. But those who aren’t will find themselves shut out of it. Remember, these are all part of that group that He gathered to Him. None the less some are separated from Him for a time because of their faithlessness.

Hell in its Biblical form is a place set apart from the presence of God[6], and described as a lake of fire. With God inside at the wedding feast, those who are locked out are set apart from His presence, and therefore going through a very real form of hell. "As though through the fire,” Paul said. Jesus said that the unfaithful servant will be appointed a portion with the unbelievers[7], and repeatedly warned that those who fail His judgment will be cast out into darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth[8] - a close analogy to the wailing and gnashing described going on in the lake of fire[9].

There is debate on whether you get your heaven or hell pass by ‘being good’. Jesus says that for actually getting in, no that does not matter. The reason that doesn’t matter is because all you have to do is be bad once, and your ticket is punched. And Lord knows we’re all going to trip up at some point. That’s why Jesus says that He is not just the way to God, but the only way to Him. He paid our entry fee, and there’s nothing we can possibly do to earn it aside from accepting it. That is the unforgiveable sin – not accepting forgiveness. So no, being good does not get you into ‘heaven’.

BUT – being good or bad does get you into or out of Jesus’ wedding feast. If you’re cast out then you will go thru purification in something very similar to hell while the feast goes on.

Also note again that this not the end of the world, but the end of the age. There is another judgment which occurs at the end of the world[10], where God sits upon the Great White Throne and divides mankind up into two groups, namely His and not His people. Those who are not His People are cast into the lake of fire, while His people inherit a new creation. This is a separate and later final judgment, and we’ll come back to it too in a bit.

But if I may be allowed to digress again, let me share with you my picture of hell. God’s word tells us the world is made of things unseen, which describes the atom and it’s components. The interesting thing about the atom is that it’s nucleus is composed of like-charged particles, and orbiting that are like charged particles. The laws of science dictate that like charged particles repel each other, indicating the whole dang thing should just naturally come apart. But God says that all things are held together by Him[11]. The Lord spoke this creation into existence, putting it together by His very Word (note the similarity of word/world). We are told that at the end of its existence the elements will melt with fervent heat[12]. Consider what happens when an atom is split - it creates intense heat and fire as the element is ripped out of existence. Could it be possible that when God speaks it out of existence, the resulting nuclear meltdown of all created matter that now exists as our earth and heavens will create the lake of fire? Would it seem fitting that those who love this world more than Him would be given it, in its natural state apart from Him?

Ok, back to it. Jesus has gathered us together, celebrated with His faithful, and is returning with us to earth to begin exercising His authority. So what’s that going to be like?

I guess no one is asking the big question....Why would we want to be judged for a possible reward if we're already going to a reward like Heaven.....?.....If we're already in Heaven then why would it matter if we get another reward...?...maybe we get to be first in lines..?...maybe we get a bigger mansion..?...maybe we get super powers...?....it doesn't make sense to get a reward on top of Heavens reward.....please help explain.....

2 Cor. 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

1 Cor. 3:11-15 For other foundation can man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved.

This is what rewards are based on and the manner in which we are judged.

No...the Righteous are NOT judged...

We are saved by the Trinity, and exempted from all judgment, as thus...

Titus 3.4 - 7

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works in righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ, our Savior; that being justified by His grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Peace be with you. we are judged because we break the New Covenant, the LIVING GOD made with us by the blood of HIS SON, the written HOLY SPIRITUAL words of spirit and life Teachings and Instructions and also further being a false witness of the Kingdom of GOD to others.

We compromise and we teach others in our every day compromising examples that it is okay to compromise because we are saved by Grace through faith and GOD understands that we are weak. This is because since we are freed from sin, we can do whatever we want as how our brain tells us so and because of our given free will to choose.

Going ahead of CHRIST as the LIVING WORD in Living Witnesses and believing in deceptions as a Christian as those mentioned above will be judged as people of 'Lawlessness'. They are Holy Scriptural based, but their representation proves their believes are in the things that are taken out of a sound doctrine context and ignorantly used to deceit also others unknowingly.

The same method of deceit, satan used to minister onto Eve and further also the same method of deception he used on JESUS of Nazareth in the desert.

Truly by the help of the HOLY SPIRIT, your confession is based on Scriptures taken out of context that only talks about the Good News of the Kingdom of GOD. But your friend's confession is based on all Scriptures, summed up in his heart and understood in sound doctrine, completely talks about the Good and also Bad News of GOD in CHRIST, taught by the help of the HOLY SPIRIT the Truth Teacher.

Anyone may make errors, especially journeying on in this very narrow difficult path confessed by CHRIST Himself in the Gospels about the two roads. When they are convicted, they truly confess them and also they truly seek truth based help, all in accordance to the Holy Scriptures.

But do not continue in ignorance and believing in deceptions, for we will be truly judged for living a 'Lawless life' and further being a false witness to others, causing them to perish too because of the same deceptions

May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST bless you with the HOLY SPIRIT in order to be the Holy Scriptural anointing in you, the Truth Teacher.

whats the point in him being judged if he knows jesus is lord?
The answer is blindingly obvious. Rom 2;11 "For God does not show favoritism." Good deeds and absence from sin are the proof that we were believers.

There is no favoritism shown to believers by God except the Holy Spirit and answers to prayer, which comes from submitting to the gospel.

So i've read that we are judged, on Judgement Day, by our Works. Yet we are saved through God's graceful gift of salvation through faith.
So where does "doing works" establish itself in the role of salvation?
Judgment is for correction and justification, not for the end that most people are taught and fear.

The modern english usage of grace, especially in church, is watered down, it's when someone compliments you in a special way. It is not the same as "mercy" though this is how it is usually misused. Grace is only give-able when the recipient is receptive. Many are taught to beat themselves up in the presence of God, and therefore cannot receive grace. It serves as a confirmation of salvation. If God isn't telling one that he is doing ok, then how can one truly feel he is saved and loved? A word on paper only goes so far, grace yields the real life experience of feeling like your heart has been saved.

As far as the role of works in salvation, it depends on one's concept of salvation.
Proper salvation isn't of self - from a doomly end, that's a quick and easy and incomplete salvation. Proper salvation is to take part in the salvation of others, even at cost of self. If one truly seeks to be saved from the heartbreak of seeing others suffer, and to see them saved from suffering, one will take action and so the two are the same thing.

Jesus saved Himself (rose from the dead) by saving others first at cost of self, and this is the salvation He tried to teach us to experience. It has to be deeply rooted in the heart because it's the right thing to do, not just a result of the technical law, want of reward, or fear of punishment.
