I believe it is quite possible that the Antichrist is alive as we speak. I personally believe he will be a politician with strong European and Muslim connections. While it's almost impossible to guess who the Antichrist might be, I think it's pretty safe to assume that the False Prophet will most likely be a Catholic Pope, especially now that the Vatican has not only accepted but is now promoting the idea of one world religion.

please read st.john 10, kjv, the antichrist comes not up by way of the sheepfold, but comes up another way, though another door, in rev he also destroyes wonderestly with peace. the word also teaches us that the antichrist existed back in that day. it is also not the pope or the catholic church, for they don't behead people.

ChristianCanadian, this was very interesting reading. I have heard much talk of who or what the antichrist is, whether it's a person or an organisation......... I tend to think that the antichrist is essentially a 'spirit' and what I mean by that is that it's a demonic spirit that resides in the body of this person or organisation or whichever of these forms it will take on...but it's the spirit of the demonic world.
The most important thing for us, even if we take a keen interest in recognising who the antichrist might be or is, we must make sure we know our God, know His Word and are so grounded in Christ that we are unmoveable, unshakable in these last days. This is what we should work towards every day. If our focus is here primarily we will recognise more evidently the signs of the time and that should stir us into action more to reach people who don't know Jesus as yet.
In these serious times.......we need to make sure we are living right and living for Christ. That's our security in these times of 'shaking', 'sifting'....this is the age where 'the wheat is being seperated from the tares'.
If ever there was a day we needed GREAT DISCERNMENT, it is now!!!

Thanks for your comment. I think the scripture clearly shows it's a man. I know it sounds hard to believe that one man will be able to do all the destruction, but he will have many governments as helpers. It's not far-fetched that the anti-christ will be a single man. Think about it, God himself came in the form of a man!
If people heard of all the destruction Hitler would bring to the world hundreds of years before he did it, they would also think that ONE single man couldn't plunge the entire world into war. Killing millions upon millions of people! Yet, we know for a fact that this is true. It's hard to believe that one man could do it, but we know Hitler did.
Don't forget that nobody before the anti-christ will be given so much satanic power. Nothing like it has ever happened before. This man will be so bad he will make Hitler look good. The anti-christ will be that evil. Of course, he'll appear as a man of peace at first!

I know for a fact that about 20 years ago I went on line to the United nations web site and did some research that led me to The World bank. I got into a file that listed Religions that signed an agreement for one world religion, Catholics were the first ones on the list. I also stummble on to a computer in belgum Germany called the beast with the 666. The world Bank is the center that is controling it. There was lots of info. on the United Nations Web site back then which spoke of one world government, a one world dollar!
The EU at the time was starting to be a driving force in the world back then.

Amen. I've noticed that a lot of popular doctrines today take sin very lightly, some even claim that Christs sacrifice on the cross has eliminated the penalty for sin which is death according to the bible. Some have even gone so far as to claim that Hell doesn't even exist even after Christ Himself makes multiple references to Hell (the 2nd death) through out the gospels.

The thing with Blair is that he's hardly that charismatic. He's not even that popular nowadays within his own country. He also has not won the position yet so no reason to jump to conclusions.
I agree with this statement wholeheartedly. The antichrist will be one of the most charismatic men ever to be in the public eye. Just a thought: I am crazy about Pres. Obama and his wife, but he is a leader that has what it takes to convince someone of anything. He is already showing himself to be a dyamic diplomat, and is already bringing people together. Just a thought, but not the european background,just African?????
