I had someone ask me the other day if God is so great an loving why do i have better morals than him.... i asked him what he ment he said well i know theres evil people in this world who deserve hell but there are also alot of decent good hearted people an yea sure they sin sometimes lieing or whatever but nothing really deserving of eternal punishment he said it seems to him God is sending this people to hell just because they want worrship him an that that sounds more like a evil dictator God... now i know Gods ways are greater than my ways but i gota admit i do find myself feeling sorry for these people an thinkin i probaly wouldnt punisb them.... now im not agreeing with him about the evil dictator god thing just stating that i personally wouldnt do it but God knows better than i.. anyway just wondering what other people think.

The man you spoke with thinks an awful lot of himself.

If the sun stopped giving its light would this man be able to sustain life for all those he would not punish?

GOD forgive this mans ignorance.

Oh boy what a question. That person just said that he knew better than God. The fool hath said in his heart no God! The devil said I will be like the Most High God. Romans 1 They changed God into corruptible things.
All men are guilty before God even the nicest of them. Here is the reason their deed were evil and they would not come to the light that their deeds might be made manifest. They are all without excuse. John 3:19-21
If we saw sin like God sees sin we would not question His judgment on sin. Only God's great mercy delays His terrible judgment on sin.

To be fair, if you were the creator God of the universe and everything in it and your creation - human beings, started worshiping your creation, rather than you, or started worshiping themselves, you'd be royally peeved, yes? Thank God for his grace and mercy!

Human pride counts for a lot. Don't forget our righteous works count for nothing; we need Christ's righteous works to qualify.

The question put more simply is, "how does a loving God go overboard with punishment?"
And He doesn't. Doesn't matter what you're told the bible says, or what you think it says. The very dilemma is the proof that you must challenge God on the issue Jacob, Job, etc. did. Any answer that supports excessive vengeance at the hands of the greatest love, is confusion.
Those who buy into it, lose their spiritual virginity. It's gone. They can never say they never called God evil.
He watched His Son be sacrificed for what? Just you? Just "us"? He didn't give all if He could not fix all.

"Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]For if he that cometh preacheth another Salvation, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another good hope, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."
Those last 6 words make me shudder.

Sounds like for both you and the other person, a circus salvation and the super-torture idea of God is the one you have not truly "received" or "accepted".

Be thankful. Keep that chastity belt locked.

Nice question and most of the people gets this doubt.

Did anyone have gone and saw who are all in the hell?? Did your friend gone and seen the good people in hell and asking God's judgment is unfair??

You know, in what type of God we are trusting in? He forgave a thief in a second on cross and made him to meet Jesus in paradise on next day. Hope the above scenario answers your question.

He is the God of Love. But yes, we have to live a holy life, and Bible says, Jesus have gone through all the temptations we are going now. So, we have to seek strength from God to overcome the temptations.

Thanks and be blessed.

AllAboutLove, then it's a good thing you and I aren't God, is it? It's not that God is selfish to desire to be worshiped and in relationship with us. He made us, it's his right. To be all buddy, buddy would mean he's no longer the Creator, only part of creation. Sounds like you don't want a God bigger than yourself. No, I don't want a God like that.

To be honest if i had created everything i wouldnt want people to worrship me for it id rather us all just sit around hanging out like friends an like where equals i wouldnt wanna be above anyone atlest thats how i think id be with my current personality but i might havr a diff one if i had that kinda power an knowledge.... im know God has a good reason for doing the things the wsy he did an not how i would.

A moral life cannot get anyone to heaven because all have sinned and come short of God's glory thus deserve nothing but eternal punishment. However, God redeems people not based on their goodness but by His mercy and righteousness. Perhaps you should direct this person to Romans 3.

To be honest before I was a christian I once thought about how god wants us to worship him and how being a christian was all about him. I then thought how that sounded like he was really conceited. But when He showed me my first vision, all I could do was cry and thank him. It was that beautiful. Then not long after maybe a month or two I finally became a christian and the more I got to know him the more I fell in love with him.I was trapped in this ever deepening love trap and he knew itLOL

By exalting himself to judge himself to have better morals (if i'm understanding correctly your first post) compared to GOD i don't think i would view him a " great christian example" ever.

A good start for we sinners is eye to ground accepting the guilty verdict knowing we are condemned and in need of Forgiveness.

Just being good isn't enough.
Mark 16:16 "He who believes in me and is baptized will be saved, but who ever does NOT believe will be condemned."

Unloving, eh? It seems like your friend wants to dictate to God what He must do. However, the clay does not dictate to the Potter what He should do. God has the prerogative to do whatever He wills because the earth and its inhabitants are His. All we ought to do is submit to and revere His authority.
