What? She told you to repent...which you should. How can she hate you if she doesn't even know you? It does not say you have any power to forgive sins at all. If you mean forgiving people as in they have done you wrong then yes you have to forgive them.

If you mean forgiving as in sins, What bible are you reading? Book of Nowhere Chapter 0 Verse Doesn't exist?
i think he was confused about what Jesus told the apostles here....

john 20:21-23 "Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

not at all trying to support what they were saying, but i think this scripture may help in understanding whaer the confusion came from.....

Gods true Word is what the world Hates because it calls for repentance. the prophets were hated and persecuted, the Jews are and have been the most persecuted people on earth, and Christians pretty much the same as Jews through History since the church was founded. its because they all had the Word of God. the world is opposed to Gods word. Even some proffesing Christians hate Gods Word and cringe at the truth of it. and therefore reject and dislike those who carry it in them. Gods Word came into the World to save us, and we crucified it.....
beautifully said. It is the Word, for the Word is a Sword, and some could perceive it as a threat and they want to fight against the Word and the Power of Almighty God. amen. The word is a light leading and showing the way to repentance. Ty. amen.

We do have the power to forgive sins that someone has committed against us, and though not really taught, we have the power to retain(not forgive) a person who has sinned against us. Most Christians(including me) are afraid to use the power to retain a person's sins against us. We have an example of Paul retaining the sins of a person against him in one instance, actually more than one instance, Paul put a curse on those trying to change his gospel...that is retaining sins.

With a passion but it is only fair because I hate them which is why they hate me because I hate them with a perfect hatred and they don't believe they can be perfect before the LORD.
