For some reason, I notice a lot of people focus on the negative things happening in our societies. But, I wanted to point out a couple of things from the past few days that I have found to be absolute wins for the Christian community.

The first one is the show Dog the Bounty Hunter. When I turned to see what it was about, I didn't know I was going to be reduced to tears of joy. In the episode I watched, an 18 year old girl with only about 8 months to live wanted nothing more than to meet Dog the Bounty Hunter. When he went to see her, the things he said to her were beautiful. He took the time to witness to her how God had changed him from a in and out of jail drug abuser, to a man with a beautiful family who dedicates his life to cleaning up the streets.

While he was talking to her, he gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek and looked her in the eyes and told her how much he loved her (as a sister in Christ). It was shocking to see a big burly man in leather with a platinum blond mullet be so loving and tender to this little girl. When he got back in his car, he was crying. He said having a person's dying wish to be seeing him was the most humbling and heart touching experience of his life.

The most beautiful part about this show is they actually film and air, on cable televison, the family praying to God. The entire team holds hands before and after each hunt and prays for safety, for the ability to catch the bad guys, and to thank God for their many blessings. With all the crap that is on tv these days, I never thought I'd see real praying in a show that wasn't on a christian network.

NEXT!!!

I heard on the radio today that about 200 PUBLIC schools in 43 states have started Bible study classes. It's an entire class dedicated to studying the Bible using a book called (I think this is what they said, but don't quote me) The Bible and You. How awesome is that? Public schools are letting God back in to students who wish to seek Him!

So, today while you pray to God be sure to hold all those who have died or lost everything in the tsunamis and earthquakes in your hearts, as well as thank God for the small victories we have made in the great battle!

Praise God!

Thankyou. What I have also enjoyed is how Dog witnesses to the ones he brings in. How wonderful that we can watch this on tv. I would love to see more uplifting bible study threads. Seems that we should work towards this more. I know Our Lord Jesus would like us to. God bless, pickles

Teaching the Bible as literature or history or what social impact it has had is allowable in all 50 states. As was mentioned above there is a curriculum that is being used in many many places.

There is also a program called "Released Time" where students can go to a Bible class on school time, off grounds, without school transportation and study.

I am a total animal freak and love God's creatures and once I get on the subject, I could possibly drive all of you crazy. God's creation lifts my heart up as I take notice in it everyday. Also, it is way more easy that people think to be able to have their bibles in the schools than people realize. The government and those in charge of the schools and especially the evil ACLU likes to intimidate iniduals to give up. I was listening to a show on Christian radio when I found that out.

I was a blessing to me. you will never know at this point in my life how I needed that; laughter is good medicine, hope I can repay the blessing sometime

I love Dog. Plus in Lodi, Ca they were going to sue the city council over praying in Jesus name there. 500 hundred people came to the meeting and said they want the prayers to stay. They voted to keep the prayers in Jesus name and to do it before the meetings start. Plus very little muslims showed up to the white house for the day of their prayer. Plus all over the world people are being sent out and people are turning to God. Yahoooo!!!!

I think what happened was that I had just viewed a commercial for a show on Animal Planet that had this huge big burley guys going door to door and they were rescuing a dog. (forget name of show) I went outside across the street to get the mail and was looking up at the clouds thinking to myself, how can anybody think that all this wonderful creation was by accident? Anyhow, with that still on my mind when I opened your thread my imagination must have run a tad wild! Anyhow, I don't mind at all making silly goofs that make others laugh because it proves that we believers do not have to resort to filthy jokes like the world to get a great laugh. By the way, with my hair way up on top of my head, when I am outside during the summer and there are lots of bees or wasps, I have had the experience of hearing this ZZZZZZ-zzzzzzz-ZZZZZZZ and feel movement in my hair and I suddenly realize that my hair has once again trapped some poor bee or wasp in it!! I have to slap the side of my hair and head until it dislodges. I am not fearful of bees or wasps thank God so I don't freak out, I am just used to slapping my head on the side.

Oh that show is Rescue Ink! I watched that last night, but had to turn it off. When I see animals being treated cruelly, I reduce myself to a pile of blubbering girl.
