Why Abel's offering pleased GOD more than Cains?
Please do not use other people's answer and opinion.
Please pray and read`GOD's Word on this matter in Genesis again and you who have been born of the HOLY SPIRIT will receive a simple understanding revelation. i have heard this common answer that Abel was a wise person who gave the sin offering and etc. Was this written in the Word?
'i only know this by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT who gives us sound doctrine say; 'When the law was given, sin came to alive.'
Let us like a little child listen and pay attention to the Word of the LORD as it is authored and still reliable because the HOLY SPIRIT confirm's it.
When my FATHER gave my big brother a field to tilt and me a herd to shepherd and when the right time comes, we are to give HIS share of our harvest as it is fair and just for the world and everything in it belongs to HIM.
As both of us labor without understanding who's sacrifice is acceptable, and then both of us present them equally to the FATHER.
How can HE accept one better than the other? My brother gets an unfavorable field and i get a favorable field. Without knowledge and understanding my brother and i must labor blindly and be bullied by the FATHER that HIS decision was just fair.
This is a manner of a slave master and not my FATHER.
This has nothing to do with the Law of Moses which was given later and comes into effects then. Even if someone content, i would just say Wheat offering was also acceptable offering according to the Law of Moses practice in the Temple to please GOD.
There were no written command for Cain and Abel to do such but they did ......................................................?????

Cain did his 'duty' when offering his veggies.
Sort of like many 'religious' church goers attending Church but not truly believing the Promise.

Abel offered out of thanksgiving, truly believing God existed and was a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. (Heb 11:4)

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Heb 11:6)

There was no faith to be shown by ANY of them. There was no law, so there was no sin. Yet they had the knowledge of good and evil. But since there was no law there was no transgression. So neithre of them had sin to confess or an offering for sin to do. But in the heart of one was murder and jealousy, and in the other was peace and love.

Only two people are mentioned here, Cain and Abel. And when Cain was at his worst state of murdering mind the LORD SPOKE TO HIM.... The first words God spoke to man AFTER God threw them out of the Garden. God said these words to Cain....
Cain why are your head fallen? Do you know not that when you do good that you shall have the excellency? And if you do not well (not sin just not doing well, also sin) SIN lieth at teh door AND HIS DESIRE IS TO HAVE YOU, but you shall RULE OVER HIM...

So this is what I get from this.... Cain KNEW that he should rule over the person called SIN, and if he is the person that doeth well (ruling ovr sin) he will have excellency and be accepted by God... Wow! But if he does not good, SIN WILL OWN HIM. And sin is a person, just as righteous (doing good) is a person....

Right through the Bible people are one of two persons.... Of GOD, or of Satan. You are either one with God or one with Satan...
Cain was one with Satan, and Abel one with God... As easy as that. God saw the Satan in Cain and how the result... SIN LEITH AT THE DOOR AND WANTS TO BE ONE WITH CAIN... God warned but still.... Cain chose sin....

Eureka! I have found someone who interprets this story the same way I do.

Personally, I believe it was the blood sacrifice. While the vegetables were an honorable sacrifice, they were the fruit of Cain's labor, the fruit of the punishment of man for Adam and Eve's sin. However, Abel sought to give to God a sacrifice that was of God's own creation, of God's own natural world. He offered the blood of an animal, and it was there that God was acknowledging that it would be blood that would sanctify the world, specifically the blood of His Son.

The vegetables were not an honorable sacrifice. Christ died for us in our time, but in eternal time it was always so. Atonement was only through blood, and as we are told now, they were told. We are saved through the blood of Christ, no other way. They had the shadow, then, we have the real thing now, but it must be the blood of Christ.

Exactly. "Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins." Hebrews 9:22

Peace be with you, this matter is not judged by any given commandment or Law of GOD to call it's sin because it was not time yet.
Cain and Abel were living in a time of knowing the knowledge of good and evil taught and guided by their parents who have eaten that forbidden fruit of knowledge.
The FATHER's Word (CHRIST) say, their offering; '............... one was 'regarded' (acceptable) and another was 'not regarded' by the LORD'.
It was not considered as a sin to the LORD because there were no given commandment and law to justify.
Cain was 'very angry' and his face fell (discouraged)
It was not sin yet.
The LORD who is compassionate came to correct and teach (encourage) Cain and warn about the restless 'sin' ('................ is crouching at the door and it's desire is for you, but you must rule over it').
But sadly Cain murdered and it was justified as sin and he was punished by the LORD.
Their offerings was not based on a given law ward offering, but based on a good and evil conscience.
Both gave their offering but Abel 'chose the best and gave the best part' among all that he received in thanksgiving to the LORD.
But sadly Cain 'gave just an offering' among all that he received in thanksgiving to the LORD.
The HOLY SPIRIT's simple revelation for children, about a historical true story of GOD and man.
He is using this true story to those upon revelation, to correct and to remind and to stir up our memory about our 'alms' (money given to the poor, especially good or bad Christians nearby or around the world, considered as one family, weak or strong in faith, until judgement day).
Let us judge ourselves according to the Word, are we Cain or Abel in the New Covenant, slumber partying in grace and truth?
Are we Pharisees of the New Covenant where the LORD will also correct the same saying; '...........bunch of show offs, snakes, what have one done to show that he or she have truly repented, while one strains out a small fly for GOD's people but he or she themselves swallow a camel.'
'Instead of rendering you outer garment rather render you heart, with the every Word that proceeded out of the mouth of GOD.'
Don't worry this is not a judgement but a reminder and memory stirrer to all believers including me, that the same will be used to judge on the Judgement Day to come.
"The LORD's Word (FATHER's every Word) is same yesterday, today and forever."
To Those who want to content, either you are a sheep hearing only the Good Shepherd's voice to watch and learn and not mine.
Or either you are a goat who loves to wrestle, compromise and continue, accumulating trouble for yourself on Judgement Day that you from time and time again have only wrestle with the LORD.
May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST help us in all of our weaknesses that has been highlighted by the HOLY SPIRIT the Teacher of GOD's Living Word.

So the topic here is The Holy Bible taught by the Holy Spirit with Abel and Cain used as an example.
When I went through a long period of being taught by the Holy Spirit it came to me that we all may read the same Bible (I read the orig. KJV btw) but not all of it will have the same meaning according to where we are in our learning, how we learn God's meanings whether it is by fallible mankind or by the Holy Spirit, how our living is and depending on the verse. A single verse can have many meanings as I have found through trials in my life that I was returned to a certain scripture or else coupled with other scriptures depending on the situation. This is what throws so many people who seek Christ but read His word with worldly eyes.
Years ago I found a bible study in the centre of one of our bibles and was trying at the time to decide where I should be reading so decided to do the study. As I read I felt empty so I would go back to the beginning again. Before this I learned from a minister/preacher but not once thought of asking the Holy Spirit to guide me and teach me. When I finally seen the preface that said that we should pray for God to open our hearts and guide us in His teachings it then made such a big difference I laughed and cried all the way through. Times when I thought I was alone but He showed me that He was with me every step of the way.
When in Cain's place I had to learn to be happy for those who received blessings while I was still on the outside looking in. I learned to be thankful to my Saviour in all things.
As for Cain not knowing sinfulness, when you reach a certain age it is well known that one should no longer throw tantrums, the angry jealousy against his brother was wrong. Take for instance a man in his mid 30's who has gone way to the other side of the law. He was into every type of substance abuse and selling it to support his habits. When he threw a tantrum someone usually got quite a beating but he blamed his dad for that because they immigrated to a country where they didn't speak the language, his dad didn't stay home to watch they didn't fall into the wrong crowds, never corrected them when he knew.
Once you get to the age you decide you are old enough to make decisions for yourself then you take responsibility for self. That is the reason that children don't pay for their parent's sin so it works vice versa also.
As was stated, 'render your heart and your soul' for they belong to your maker the author and the finisher.
For those who take the step to ask God's guidance through His teachings, it is such an awesome experience. Sometimes confusing but if you wait on the Lord He will certainly show you wonders like you have never seen before.
I haven't read a novel since then because no writing has ever compared to God's Word.

Peace be with you, the HOLY SPIRIT is giving the key Scripture to all believers in order to be encouraged and not discouraged found in the epistle to Timothy;
"All Scriptures are inspired (by the HOLY SPIRIT) and it is 'useful' for:
1. 'Teaching'
2. 'Rebuking Error'
3. 'Correcting Faults'
4. 'Training One In Righteousness'
And the conclusion of the Scripture ends by;
'So that a man or women of GOD will be fully equipped and fully trained to do all kind of Good GOD's deeds'."
As it is written; 'GOD IS LOVE.'
Also it is written; 'HE IS ALSO THE CONSUMING FIRE.'
HIS Word (CHRIST author and perfector/finisher of our faith) excuses us or accuses us.
"HE corrects the ones HE love."
"If GOD corrects you, do not be discouraged. And when HE chastises you, do not take light of it."

Abel was obedient to the revelation that access to GOD was only through faith in the blood of a vicarious sacrifice.

Cain disobeyed the revealed will of GOD and offered instead the fruit of his own labors.

One had faith, the other didn't. One trusted his works to please GOD, the other didn't.

Does this sound similar to what we know today?

Peace be with you. as an unworthy servant just doing my duty to encourage you, 'personally', sorry to say speak about one self's view and opinion, in order to, me. myself and I.
This is about the remaining Holy Scripture in the Holy Bible inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT.
Please come like a child and learn them, as it is written by the help of the anointing (HOLY SPIRIT) in you, if you are born of water and the Holy SPIRIT, by the laying hands of the elders in the church.

Lots of things aren't specifically written, but we can know from the context that certain things did happen. We can safely assume that blood was shed because Abel sacrificed a lamb. And without shedding of blood, there is no release from sin.

Peace be with you, as it is written; "You can say anything against the SON of man and you can be forgiven but if you say anything against the HOLY SPIRIT, you can never be forgiven."
LORD JESUS CHRIST the HOLY SPIRIT said through Apostle Paul to the Gentile church; 'Work out your salvation in fear and trembling."
As it is written; 'There will come a time when GOD will cut off the Gentile branches (wild olive tree branches attached to the cultivated olive tree) from the cultivated olive tree (Jewish Christian), so that the cultivated olive tree branches which was cut before by HIM will be attached back.
This is to relate to the Scripture that say; "Once when the Good News and peace has reached to all Gentiles, once again it will come back to the Israel Jews."
That is why Apostle Paul warns Gentiles not to be proud.
As it is written, 'This was GOD's will that the Israel Jews will reject Christ at their time, so that the Good News and peace will be reached out to the Gentiles until today.'
The HOLY SPIRIT who represent the LORD JESUS CHRIST of the inspired Holy Scripture say, as it is written and available with revelation;
"If you have spiritual ears as the body of CHRIST, listen and pay attention only to what has been written, to all who are called."
Also HE goes on to justify sadly; "Many are called but only a few are chosen."
Why are we going on in vain discussion, also rubbish picked from this world?
Judge for yourself, do they build and edify the lambs and sheep of the Kingdom of GOD?
Do we have anything in common with them?
Yet we love them as light and salt for the world.
As it is written; ................ " 'Our desire' to tell the Good News and Peace should be like the shoes we wear on our feet.'
Isn't this one part of the given armor that we should live by against the enemy to save others who are lost but yet living?
They can be close to us or we meet or have met and as a believer of CHRIST, won't their blood be upon us as witnesses?
Judge for ourselves, according to the sound doctrine of the Holy Scripture, where we stand right now before the LORD comes back?

Peace be with you, just now, when i took a break from this tread.
'i asked GOD in the LORD, why are we, including me and my weaknesses according to the Word (CHRIST), are continuing in this way?
HE answered, as it is written in the Epistle of James, also mention in the Preface as the wisdom of the New Covenant;
James 1;13-15 justifies.
Also it is written in the Gospel; 'I did not come to judge but even if I did judge, it will be just and fair.' (to all)

Peace be with you, it is not written Abel offered 'blood' offering. (Genesis 4;4)

brother fredjames...

GOD DOES reveal to us that Abel did offer a BLOOD SACRIFICE...

GENESIS 4:4...
[SUP]4. [/SUP]And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flockand of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

now lets see were the HOLY SPIRIT guides us to these HOLY TRUTHS OF GOD HIMSELF... brought of the firstlings of his flock... we are guided to NUMBERS 18:17 which GOD HIMSELF IS SAYING IN HIS OWN HOLY WORD... [SUP]17. [/SUP]But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the Lord.

now lets see were the HOLY SPIRIT guides us to these HOLY TRUTHS OF GOD HIMSELF... of the fat thereof... we are guided to LEVITICUS 3:7-16 which GOD HIMSELF IS SAYING IN HIS OWN HOLY WORD...
[SUP]7. [/SUP]If he offer a lamb for his offering, then shall he offer it before the Lord.[SUP]8. [/SUP]And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof round about upon the altar.
[SUP]9. [/SUP]And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the Lord; the fat thereof, and the whole rump, it shall he take off hard by the backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
[SUP]10. [/SUP]And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
[SUP]11. [/SUP]And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto the Lord.
[SUP]12. [/SUP]And if his offering be a goat, then he shall offer it before the Lord.
[SUP]13. [/SUP]And he shall lay his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.
[SUP]14. [/SUP]And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire unto the Lord; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
[SUP]15. [/SUP]And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
[SUP]16. [/SUP]And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the Lord's.

now we see in GOD'S OWN HOLY WORD THE TRUTH OF WHAT ABEL DID UPON HIS ALTER TO GOD... A BLOOD SACRIFICE FOR FORGIVENESS OF SIN...

GOD BLESS...

I PRAY GOD HAS OPENED YOUR EYES AND EARS TO THIS HOLY TRUTH...
AND MAY THE HOLY SPIRIT TRULY FILL AND GUIDE US ALL IN GOD'S HOLY TRUTH...

Peace be with you dear brethren, i acknowledge in sound doctrine of the Holy Bible, you have excelled to quote the significant blood offering for sins only revealed to us in the book of the Law of Moses the Old Covenant builder.
Having the knowledge first from GOD, according to HIS time to time of revealing to man, so they only practice in faith to HIS every WORD given then.
When did sin come to alive and were controlling men?
When they received the knowledge of sin and also GOD through Moses gave the knowledge of the 'offering' to be brought first and then to be checked by priests and upon approval, as blameless then it is ready for 'sacrifice'.
It is then slaughtered and some of the blood spilled to the ground and some were collected in a bowl and brought into the Tabernacle (Temple) and is given to the High Priest. He then, uses a Hyssop plant stems bound together to sprinkle from the as he walks, the blood upon the 'required' places. The slaughtered animal is then butchered and the fat part (it's right thigh) is brought in and placed on the altar and given to GOD as a burnt offering. The rest of the remaining parts of that animal are distributed among the Levites. Nothing must go to waste.
Thus says the LORD the HOLY SPIRIT to listen and pay attention to GOD's written Word;
"In GOD's knowledge, the people of Israel, accordingly acted in faith, will bring the required sacrifices as an offering first to the Priest. Then the Priest will inspect them and he must regard or disregard as blameless and acceptable as sacrifice pleasing to GOD according to HIS given knowledge standards."
"Now do you see the same in the case of Cain and Abel who brought their offerings to the LORD. HE then inspected them both and HE had regard for Abel's heart and his offering, 'chose' from among his flock the first born and offered the best fat in meat part as sacrifice. HE had no regard for Cain's heart and his offering, 'an offering' taken from the fruit of the ground."
Example, Is a wheat shoot similar to another wheat shoot? One can be healthy with many grains in them but the other less. What if Cain chose from the harvest the first fruits and the best fat parts among shoots as sacrifice? The truth is Cain brought 'an offering'.

I believe Genesis 4:4 was also mentioned in support of evidence that a blood offering took place (by 2LIVE4GOD).

GENESIS 4:4...
[SUP]4. [/SUP]And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flockand of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
