Genesis 4:19 Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah.
How did this change for Christians?

Well, Jesus did say marriage is between man and woman. He never indicated that polygamy was acceptable.

You could also take into account that Lamech was a descendent of Cain and the first account of polygamy, and Lamech was considered rebellious against God.

The original design was Adam and Eve, so only one man and woman. I think after the fall later on, when God chose and set apart the people of Israel, it was important to increase their lineage, so they then married multiple wives to have more children to pass down their traditions and Religion to. :)

Just my 2 cents. I'm not an expert. :)

God gave Adam, Eve and Eve alone and did not include Angela, Sarah, Shaniqua, Shakira, Beyonce,. No just Eve.

Just grateful should we men be. Wow, He didn't even have choice. But, to Him she was all that and 3 bags of chips.

Why would any man want more than one wife? Tell me boys... is it really THAT fun with women who do become hormonally unstable every month? Im not trying to be gross here. I pity my own man sometimes for putting up with me. And I am just ONE.

Well they needed more experience. You see Elizabeth, men fully mature a full eleven years later than women. I'm sure many a man found out afterwards that God gave them two hands to hold one woman not the other way around.

I don't think I could put up with more than one. Thats why John smith kept them in a separate house. They call it the bee hive and I think I know why.

One woman is enough trouble for me. No way would I want two or more. I would never be able to win an argument or watch whatever I want on TV. I would have to wait in line to take a shower. They would feminize everything by putting flower motifs everywhere and cute lil baby angel stuff all over.

No way.

Hmmm... Yes, the Bible records these events but never does it say God approves of men taking more than one wife. Look at all the strife they bring upon themselves and their children by their polygamy etc.

I believe in a bond between a man and a woman . God never told man to marry multiple women, however, He allowed this to happen in the Bible times like King david, king solomon etc...Even abraham,God allowed him to slept with other women. Sometimes,I don't understand the ways of God in the old times,I don't really know why God allowed polygamy for his anointed men. Well in the bible time ,it's not called polygamy yet.

there's really consequences. Polygamy doesn't bring good..it's always disaster at the end.

Well just because men did it, doesn't mean God wanted it. People did a lot of things during their culture in the east, some beneficial, others harmful or sometimes uncivil for us modern folks lol.

NO
1) Multiple hits on the wallet
2) Multiple hits on the ears
3) Even harder to find that darn T.V. remote
4) harder to work out exactly WHO screwed up your finely tuned settings and great background picture on the puter.
5) Harder to track down exactly who has your favourite pen.
6) when they are doing that head tilted to one side and asking ''Does my bum look big in this'' question you get multiple eyes staring at you. and on that note fells DON'T EVER ANSWER THAT QUESTION .. just feign a heart attack or something
7) Just think if YOU have to cook dinner !!
8) Many hundreds of miscellaneous excuses ask me in heaven when I have eternity to go through them.. though I or you probably wont care then :)
