The images of Jesus that Christians have in their churches, homes, Bibles, Sunday School or Sabbath School books are those which have the outward features of the chief pagan gods of the heathen world. This is the image of Greek God Zeus
With the time of Constantine a new type of JESUS began to be portrayed among the Christian population of the Roman Empire. They took the style of grooming typical of the pagan gods and adopted it as their
“JESUS” The above drawing is from a bust in the British Museum of Sarapis, the Egyptian version of Zeus, chief of the Gentile gods. See Harper’s Dictionary of Classical Literature and Antiquities, article “Coma.”

Which ls the same image of Jesus Christ we see in the churches and homes today.

Proof:

1.
Note the long hair!Such long feminine type of hair on a man is how evil spirits are portrayed in the Book of Revelation Re

Revelation 9:7-8 And the shapes of the locusts [were] like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads [were] as it were crowns like gold, and their faces [were] as the faces of men.
And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as [the teeth] of lions.

Paul says in 1 Cor

1C 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
1C 11:16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

Jesus Christ is our spiritual high priest according to Heb 9:11, see what God says to all high priests in israel
Ezk 44:20 Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads.
All Jews used to follow what the High priest do in Israel. No Jews ever had long hair, like we see in these pictures.

2. Jesus Christ was not handsome and healthy like this.See Prophet Isaiah telling about the coming Messiah

Isa 53:1-5Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

If you take Rotherhams translation, its more clear

Isa 53:1-5Who, believed what we have heard? And, the arm of Yahweh, to whom was it revealed? When he came up as a sapling before him, And as a root-sprout out of dry ground, He had neither beauty nor majesty,—When we beheld him, there was nothing to behold, that we should desire him;

Despised was he, and forsaken of men, Man of pains, and familiar with sickness,—Yea, like one from whom the face is hidden, Despised, and we esteemed him not.

¶ Yet surely, our sicknesses, he, carried, And, as for our pains, he bare the burden of them,—But, we, accounted him stricken, Smitten of God, and humbled.
Yet, he, was pierced for transgressions that were ours, was crushed for iniquities that were ours,—The chastisement for our well-being, was upon him, And, by his stripes, there is healing for us.

3.Idolatory is prohibited in Christianity, be it made of stones or drawings

Strong's dictionary of New Testament:

G1497 eidolon i'-do-lon

an image (i.e. for worship);

"An image", we are not supposed to keep an image of God.Jesus says:

Jn 4:23-24 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.

Jesus Christ says this after he says that time will come when people will no longer go to mountains or Jerusalem to worship. That is how people used to worship according to Old Testament. After Jesus' resurrection, we are to pray ourself inside, no need to go to any place to worship God.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, i would like to know your opinion on this. If anyone have any other points to add, please!!!

Once you get to know a person personally, pictures are only important when they are not around. Jesus is always around.

The image of Jesus should be looking EXACTLY like you.... God says ALL He saves he recreates in the image of Jesus.... So it is not what you look like or sound like or talk like.... IT IS HOW YOU WALK LIKE.... then you are recreated in the IMAGE OF JESUS....

If you look in the mirror you should see Jesus, if you walk you should walk like Jesus, if you talk you should talk like Jesus, and if you live, you should live like Jesus.... He should look like you....

I don't really care what he looks like, I care about him as of who he is. People often make images to get closer to that person such as Jesus or mary, but I don't need an image of Jesus to worship him or feel safe.

I have a buddy. Were not very close.. But,,one day he thought he needed to get rid of statues and what-not around his house. His wife had ceramic ducks. She even bought clothes for them.

Anyways,, he smashed them all to pieces. She's still mad at him.. And now he realizes he was better off with clothed ducks than an upset wife.

Jesus would look more like the current Palestinians, who are the racial descendants of the area.

There was no such thing as a white European Jewish person back then.

I actually agree with the OP. I have held this belief for quite a while actually. I read something recently from C.S. Lewis that should give people some food for thought on this. It's a fictional writing about a demon uncle writing to his demon nephew about how to oppress a believer:

If you look into your patient's mind when he is praying, you will not find that. If you examine the object to which he is attending, you will find that it is a composite object containing many quite ridiculous ingredients. There will be images derived from pictures of the Enemy as He appeared during the discreditable episode known as the Incarnation: there will be vaguer—perhaps quite savage and puerile—images associated with the other two Persons. There will even be some of his own reverence (and of bodily sensations accompanying it) objectified and attributed to the object revered.

I have known cases where what the patient called his "God" was actually located—up and to the left at the corner of the bedroom ceiling, or inside his own head, or in a crucifix on the wall. But whatever the nature of the composite object, you must keep him praying to it—to the thing that he has made, not to the Person who has made him.

You may even encourage him to attach great importance to the correction and improvement of his composite object, and to keeping it steadily before his imagination during the whole prayer. For if he ever comes to make the distinction, if ever he consciously directs his prayers "Not to what I think thou art but to what thou knowest thyself to be", our situation is, for the moment, desperate.

A lot of images used in worship are of pagan origin or from false religions.

Research the fish you see on so many automobiles.

Research the teachings or celebrations that are not solid Bible teachings.

The fish is not pagan, although pagan religions used a fish-god. The Christian fish was chosen by early Greek Christians, because in Greek the word for fish is ichthos, and is an acrnomym for "iesous christos, theoi uios, soter" (if I have all the grammar endings right). This means "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior". That is pretty Biblical.

"Jesus Christ, God's Son, Saviour" that is of course biblical, but using of the image of fish is not. i don't see any of the apostles telling us to use the image of fish. Infact the only thing they told is to " keep away from the idols". Greek Christians might have used that, but its not that it is biblical. Apostasy started long before , when apostle Paul was alive. We are still in that age. People used to do alot of things in the days of apostles, which was not according to the the teachings.

i read Ernest.l. martin's "People the History Forgot", in which his research says, Simon Magus (mentioned in Acts 8:18) is the first one to bring all these unscriptural things to Christianity. Later believers of Simon became a part of Gnostic and then Orthodox catholic Christianity. They brought all that they learned from simon magus to orthodox Christianity.

Are you telling me that it is ok if i look at a pic of some celebrity , imagine it to be the saviour and can pray to Christ???i don't understand!!!

Some thing which is not scriptural why do we have to do it? That is said to be the image of "zeus", why do we have to keep a pagan god's image and worship God in our mind. Would God love it???Don't we know that satan is called the "God of this world". If we do all these unscriptural things, the praise and glory goes to the wrong one.

2C 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

See what Paul says:

Ro 1:20-23 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

God is really angry regarding this matter

Dt 27:15 Cursed [be] the man that maketh [any] graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman....

Dt 5:8 Thou shalt not make thee [any] graven image, [or] any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the waters beneath the earth:

Here is the first time that people needed to see something like a picture of God because they couldn't picture God as not having an earthly image:

Exodus 32: 1 When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods[SUP][a][/SUP] who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

So they gathered their gold jewelry to make a calf to represent God.

Ex 32:5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the Lord.” [SUP]6 [/SUP]So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.

God sent Moses back to the people, Moses begged God not to destroy them as impossible people.

EX:32 [SUP] 7 [/SUP]Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. [SUP]8 [/SUP]They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf.

Sanashankar gave you what God says about making a "graven image", or pictures of him.

Using a fish as a symbol of God can be compared with writing his name, it is something completely different than making a picture or sculpture and saying it is of God.

Makes people sense, but it isn't what God says. I can't find any scripture to back up that God separates doing, thinking, and being. God is pretty definite that doing alone can amount to nothing, you can't separate the doing from thinking and worship. But doing without thinking is nothing, and also thinking without doing is nothing. You can't have it just going one way. God ties the two together, and apart from each other they are nothing.

God didn't say it was how they thought of the golden calves that made them wrong, God said they were wrong even though scripture talks about people saying it was the thought of them representing God that made them OK.
